  • How to clear the cache and cookies?

I have a Satellite L350 lent by a friend - usually, I work on a Mac and am familiar with computers.

Is it necessary to empty the cache and cookies from time to time, and if so, how do we?

    Hey Buddy,

    > Is it necessary to clear cache and cookies from time to time
Not normally but I do from time to time because a lot of temporary internet files and cookies is stored so I remove to keep my own system ;)

But it s depending on the browser you are using any Web browser registers its own files internet for what browser you used?
If you use Internet Explorer, you can delete the files in the control panel > network and internet > internet options.

If you need more instructions, just after again. ;)

  • Clear the Cache and Cookies... downside? What problems this may create?

I'm having problems of speed, scroll wheel, etc... and didn't "clean" my MacBook Pro 15 "Late 2008 with upgrade of RAM because I do not know how to clean it up." So, I was informed that the cache and cookies from 8 years of use of the compensation would be a good start. Before you do it... What problems it will create? WilI I need to know ALL the passwords and ID to all my sites, I need to prepare and or know that I need to deal with when I do this? Are there other things 'cleansing' can I do to make my MacBook Pro works best? Thank you and God bless you!

Start with these simple steps (after that you made that you have a backup of all your data!):

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

This will put you in Mode without failure, which will be even slower than you used to. Don't worry: after starting over, you can immediately restart in normal mode. In this way, a lot is 'cleaned' automatically.

If it doesn't improve speed, thanks for posting a report of Etrecheck: http://etrecheck.com

  • Unable connect to GMAIL because "the browser not to accept cookies. I deleted the cache and cookies, but does not solve the problem.

My problem is with IE - 8 on Vista 64-bit.

Following the instructions to "bypass" of Microsoft for the Microsoft Security Advisory (2757760).

I changed a number of privacy and security settings block access by the attack vehicle.  To restart the computer, Google doesn't let me sign into my Gmail account because my browser does not accept cookies.
I tried recommendation Google next to allow cookies, then the empty browser history and delete cookies.  Always without success.
I have reset the IE setting privacy and advanced security "by default".  Always without success.
I just downloaded the hotfix from Microsoft security for the same problem, but Gmail still insists on the fact that my browser is NOT enabled to accept cookies.  All cookies related pick boxes are enabled.
This is as far as I know.

Fafsa.gov site can't stand no more recent than the version of Firefox 3.6.x. It's their choice.

You can install the version of Firefox Portable for use only on this site and use your current version of Firefox for all the rest. Firefox Portable is not produced by Mozilla (but it is based on the versions of Firefox released) and only is not supported on this site - has its own support forum (see below). Firefox Portable installs in a separate folder on your hard disk so that it does not interfere with your currently installed version configuration Firefox or personal information (bookmarks, passwords, etc.). You can also install Firefox Portable on a USB/thumb/pin/jump drive.

You have several old Java Console extensions Java did not cleanup during updates. You need Java Console only if you're doing Java programming/development or debug web pages, Java applets. You can see them in the Add-ons > Extensions, but you can not delete them from there. Their withdrawal will not affect the operation of Java on Web sites. Manually , you can remove them, If you don't do Java development work to avoid problems and future conflicts, possible:

    Your old extensions Java Console:

You may need to update some plug-ins. Check your plug-ins and update if necessary:

  • When trying to click on the menu options drop-down on the websites list instantly lights up before I can click on anything anyone, unless I continue to empty the cache, cookies

When I click on the drop-down lists for options on a Web site, the list disappears before I can click on any option. I find clear the cache and cookies every time, it will work only once before the compensation again. So it must be allowed for each unique click on an option.

Thank you very much for posting back to us to know that it worked.

Reset option is designed to be easy and simple to use, even if it is not something to be used as first choice, especially if you have a lot of changes and extensions.

  • Firefox crashed after attempting to clear the browser's cache and cookies, and now it crashes everytime I open.

Update: I used the wrong word in the question. It FREEZES rather than be crushed. I have to force quit. Hope this clear things upward.

I followed the instructions of an officer of Yahoo Mail (in a problem of yahoo with their mail) to clear the cache and cookies on 'Everything' (time slot). Crashed Firefox. Now every time that I reopen it, it gives the error message and an option to restore or start a new session, but as soon as I click on anything, whether it crashes.

Apparently, my user profile has been altered. Deleted file Profiles , dumped FF, did a clean install and it works like a charm. I saved profiles, but I'm scared to have to add because I don't know what is corrupt. It seems my attempt to clear the cache and cookies trigger something...

  • Some Web sites load very slowly for me, and I already checked for viruses and cleared my cache and cookies.

I had problems with some websites load incredibly slowly and direct to other websites very slowly. Some of them I can't access because it says my connection has been reset. One of them where it says the connection has been reset is YouTube, but when I go to a video through a direct link everything okay.

What else is odd, is that blogging on Tumblr is loading very slowly for me, but the dashboard went very well and load perfectly.
I've done a virus scan on my computer and I have already cleared my cache and cookies.
    What can I do else?

You can try to disable IPv6 (also check other possible causes).

  • I suddenly can't all sites that I use every day on Firefox to load. I tried to empty the cache. No difference. How can I fix it?

I use Firefox every day to access many sites. Yesterday, it worked perfectly. Today, that it won't work at all. I just get "Unable to connect" message when I try to load websites - and sites work on other programs (even if I need to use firefox to do certain things on some of them...) so it is not a problem of internet access. I read the help articles and they help at all. I tried to empty the cache. It makes no difference. I tried to check that no proxy is highlighted under the advanced access settings. It is, and see which makes no difference. I tried looking to see if Firefox is permitted to access the web through my windows computer - but I can't say what program he would need to connect. And I have not changed my settings since yesterday - when it worked perfectly (or seems to). That shouldn't be the problem.
Ive wasted most of the fights with this morning. What the hell is going on here and how can I solve this problem?

Hello, normally these problems are caused by a security/firewall software which does not recognize and therefore blocks the new versions of firefox - firefox 23 was released yesterday: solve connection problems to websites after Firefox update
