Resizing of large-scale printing technique

Hello Photoshopers.

IM soon on the ground of the web printing, so I'd like to collect information about large scale printing techniques.

I know for a given fact that a document be clear should contain enough pixels for the width and height to 300 DPI print immaculate.

But not all cases are like that, and sometimes some pictures could be old and do not provide enough information to be printed clear.

So my question today is as follows.

e.i:

A customer brought me her favorite photo and he wants large format poster for this wall 2 x 2 meters, seeing from close distance.

so I open the document and see the following:

Width: 991 pixels

height: 678 pixels

resolution 72

(A) is there a way to make the customer happy without printing bad result?

(B) what would be the best values to enter in the new document?

(C) I did a paper 200 x 200 cm 300 DPI and the photo resembled a small thumbnail

in this painting, I then scaled canvas size and zoomed to 100% image deteriorated.

I tried to keep it as a smart object, but always the detail has been lost.

Techniques and the info much appreciated thanks.

As the proverb says: "Garbage in - garbage out." There is little you can do with a small image. You can try resampling using preserve details and maybe try a camera shake reduction after that. You can also try other software like Genuine Fractals, but you won't get good results.

I am creating a flyer and must add five photos to document and resize them to scale.  What are the specific steps?

Without seeing your Flyer available, it is difficult to advise you, but if you want to build the room yourself, illustrated above approach shows how to put an image in the layout, position, and resize it.

Fig 1. Make a selection on the page layout for the position (and possibly cropped) image format

Fig 2. Open the image and choose the command selection > all followed by Edit > copy

Fig. 3. Return to the layout and choose Edition > paste special > paste in the image will be probably larger than your selection when pasted into the Flyer.

Fig 4. Choose Edition > transform > scale the scale tool appears.

Fig. 5. Drag the frame to adjust it to a corner of the space of the image

Fig. 6. Hold down the SHIFT key (to preserve proportion) and drag the farthest corner of scale handle diagonally downwards to reduce the size of the image to fit in the area of selection. Then click on the symbol to Commit in the Options bar to produce the result (Fig 7).

Repeat for each of the other images...

  • How to I resize a larger image 72 DPI to the smaller image quality but of good size stick in the brochure

Hi, I'm trying to resize a larger image from wide 16 cm saved at 72 dpi for a smaller image of wide from 5 cm to quality for the prompt for an art show I'm having. I think there a lot of information on the picture therefore it is great, I just want it condensed into a smaller image. If I adjust the size of 5 cm wide, it changes the dpi to 230 which would be better for printing (the 72 dpi is much too grainy). However when I stick it in the flyer that I do in photoshop it sticks like a massive picture. I then tried to drag the corners to make the right size and it became even longer than a 5cm wide 72 dpi image. I hope that makes sense for a person. So basically I need a large document size of 5cm that I can put in my small circular which is the best quality that I can do! Thanks in advance!

What the PPI is the file that you are trying to drag in?

You are able to view your office showing the two files... ?

If you convert 16 cm/72 DPI image in the image of 5 cm/240ppi and then save. Then check the ppi with the flyer. If the flyer is still important with a low resolution will give you the cross between them so the magnified image of the ppi is displayed in big on the flyer paper.

  • Get some APs to join a vWLC large-scale which replaces a small scale vWLC

Hello everyone. I'm in a bit of a dead end. Here's our situation:

    • We have two vWLC on a small scale (.210 et.211), each with 200 AP licenses max. They are both on the 8.1.120.0 version.
    • vWLC.210 is maxed out et.211 is halfway there, as far as APs go. All APs are AIR-CAP702I-A-K9.
    • We recently bought APs more, but it was unclear, these APs are now 702i-B, which works with a newer version.
    • We were already looking to upgrade le.210 to a vWLC on a large scale, but ran into problems (error attached screenshot) and for some reason any could not do.
    • I was on vacation (a week or more), came back and my colleagues have already implemented a new and large scale vWLC, running version 8.2.111.0. His IP est.212.
    • So now what we're trying to do is to have the + 300 APs connect a.212 the most effective way possible.
    • One way that we figured out to hover over an AP has been put by default, but it would be horrible.

At this point, we are eager to have a single virtual controller (large scale) for all the APs. If someone managed to upgrade small-scale (version 8.1.120.0) large scale (version 8.2.110.0), which would definitely be the way to go. I couldn't get this error with our support team.

If we cannot go from small to large, then the second option could migrate their all new, large scale (. 212) controller. What would be the best/effective way to do.

    Thank you

I just deconnecter.210 the network vWLC and edit the new vWLC at the same IP address (. 210). In this way, all of your AP must register with new vWLC.

If you intend to use these vWLCs, you need to change the PDC of each AP (under AP config - tab that high) to new vWLC name & IP management. You can do this via vWLC CLI as well. If you get all the details of your AP, you can prepare your config in Notepad & applied only once. (first test & make sure it works for you)

    (WLC) >config ap primary-base <vWLC_Name> <AP1_Name> <vWLC_mgt_IP>(WLC) >config ap primary-base <vWLC_Name> <AP2_Name> <vWLC_mgt_IP>.(WLC) >config ap primary-base <vWLC_Name> <APn_Name> <vWLC_mgt_IP>

  • Question of Admin RV120W - large scale deployment

    Hello:

I've been doing demonstrations of the RV120W for review of deployment for a "large-scale SOHO deployment", maybe hundreds of sites. While I'm not a big fan because there is no CLI, to an interface web, the RV120W seems to do everything I need it to do on a basic level. However, since there is no CLI, is there a way to eat these for a large scale deployment? For example, is there a way to backup over the network configurations, or a way to make changes to configuration to all routers at once, on the automated plan, such as CiscoWorks, or another tool? I have not found or read anything that would be apt for this router...

There are no tools for mass deployment. Everything as it goes is to do a "master config' charge to each router and then adjust the unique attributes. I think in all areas, it will be a tedious process.

  • Line appears when you apply the drop shadow on a large scale

    Hello!

A few weeks ago, I had to make a graph on a large scale (800mmx2000mm) a roll-up banner. I wanted to apply a shadow to a rounded shape and ugly lines came. Because it's a little urgent, I decided not to use.

But now I'm curious, so I quickly made an ellipse and added a shadow, so you will know what I mean. This also happens when I save it in pdf or image format.

    Screenshot 2013-11-07 at 03.45.31 nachm..png

Maybe one day I'll have to use a drop shadow on a large scale. Then, someone knows how to fix this problem or what I could do in case I need to use this effect in these conditions? I use Illustrator CS6 in Mac with the Mavericks.

    Thanks in advance.

    I work with CS2.

Lately, sometimes when I use the command set, the placed image is on a LARGE scale.

Files that are .jpg and .psd, are no different - so far as I can see - files that are functioning normally.

Try to open an image file in Photoshop to see what his physical size, in pixels, but also in inches/centimeters.

If the image is too large in inches/centimeters you can adapt it in Photoshop without resampling increasing its effective resolution.

  • Cannot print from Photoshop CS4 in an iMac OS 10.6.3 to large format printer Epson 11880

Hello! I was wondering if you could help me with this matter.

Old computer: Mac G4 (acquired in 2002)

Old operating system: OS 10.4.11 (Tiger)

    Processor: Dual 1.25 GHz

    Memory: RAM 2

    Software: Photoshop 7

Material: Printer large format: Epson 11880 (64 '' large monster). Prints large posters, banners, etc.

As you can see, it's time for an upgrade...

    New computer: iMac

New operating system: OS 10.6.3 (Snow Leopard)

    Processor name: Intel Core i7

    Processor speed: 2.8 GHz

    Number of processors: 1

    Total number of Cores: 4

    Memory: 16 GB

    Software: Photoshop CS4

Material: Printer large format: Epson 11880

Situation: We hung everything and managed to print on the printer 11880 2 times and printed two draws large format. On the third attempt, we encountered a serious problem...

Problem: After opening a file in Photoshop and it sends large format printing to the Epson printer, the file goes to the print queue of the printer and stays there for 6 seconds, and then it disappears. It does not print. :-(

What we have done so far:

    • We have ensured that we have downloaded the latest printer driver for your printer from the Web of Epson site.

    • The printer driver is correct. The computer communicate with the printer and we are able to run all of the commands Panel printer utilities. (check the ink levels, cleaning heads, etc.).
    • And Yes, the printer is correct, because we use it with the old G4 machine for about a year.

    • This problem got so frustrating, that we thought that something that we transferred during the installation of the computer could be the culprit. If at some point we have wiped the drive on the new computer and reinstalled the operating system and do not have all the files in any old computers in this machine. The computer has nothing else in it. Exception: Operating systems and Mac applications that come when the Mac out of the box. The only other program installed in Photoshop CS4 and the printer driver.

    • We wondered if it was just a printing problem, period. So, we added a small printer to the computer - and the old Epson 2200 we have. We have sent a file to the printer and there is no problem.

    • Perhaps, the file size would have been a problem? It does not matter. We can send a large file of 60 MB for the printer or a small photo measures only 8 x 10, and they linger in the queue for 6 seconds and disappear never to be printed.

    • Temporary relief came when we got rid of the preferences of Adobe Photoshop file. After got rid of the file and Photoshop which allows to reconstruct, we managed to print two large files to the printer. Then he failed once again. Trying to get rid of the preferences again, and the trick doesn't work anymore. :-(

    • Another temporary relief came when we created another user to the computer. On the new user account he printed new once or twice only to fail later.

    • And Yes, the printer will print from other Mac programs. If, for example, we open a file to preview and send it to the printer and the file will be printed. And Yes, we were able to print very large files with this method.

In the last two days, we spent 3 hours on the phone with the guys at Epson. They checked the driver, and because the computer seems to be to communicate with the printer and print from other Mac applications, they suspected that the problem is with Adobe.

We called Adobe once and spent 30 minutes with an Indian classmate who concluded that the problem is with how the computer manages the queue. According to him, Photoshop sends the file to the computer, and the computer seems to get rid of it. So he passed the ball and we were told that the problem was with Apple.

We called Apple and met for 30 minutes with a friendly technician who transferred us to a higher level of techno-geek. I spent 1 hour on the phone with Apple, and we tried everything. We went through to the knowledge base of Adobe and tried all the proposed solutions (see Adobe KB406452). It is with him that we found a temporary solution of deleting the preferences file, but the solution was short-lived. Finally, he thought that the problem was with Adobe because the printer is capable of printing from all applications EXCEPT Adobe Photoshop.

We called Adobe for the second time... and after waiting on hold for an hour together, we got an Indian technician, who bless her heart, had a very thick accent and had no expertise, in my opinion. It was good to collect data and it even made me share my computer screen so that he could solve the problem. After being constantly put on hold by him (because he had to consult with someone else), he passed the ball and said it was the problem of Apple. I just told her that it was also unlikely, because all EXCEPT Photoshop print programs. After trying what I consider a "Hail Mary" to REMOVE all printers in my library folder and replacing them does not, he recorded a case number to another technician from Adobe to call us in the coming days.

Because the technician that the above completely blew the library, I just erased and reinstalled the operating system. This time, I did not allow the operating system to date - on 10.6.2 (which comes in the box), 10.6.3. We tried to print using the 10.6.2 and had the same problem. :-(

Conclusion: I think it's a problem of Adobe CS4 does not agree with new Apple operating system. The Epson printer is fine, because it's a product that has been on the market for almost 3 years. What is disappointing, is that none of the companies wants the man to the top and say that this is a problem and that they are willing to work on it. Instead they return the ball to the new company.

I can't believe I'm the only person who knows this. If someone has had this problem and have you found a solution or workaround for it?

    Our engineer:

Looking at the rest of the thread, the user says "However, avoid us all of the computer color management or the printer when printing it right now."

If they use "No. Color Management" mode, I'm not surprised to see failures on the Epson, and that's what gets the note "Is not a valid color space" in the journal.

Use either PS color management manages or printer handles and things should be fine. Or use CS5 and things should be good.

  • even if I create an image of large scale when I save in png and try to zoom his as dimmed and pixels are like big boxes, so if I print I get the original photo of clarity that I created in photoshop?

    unknown

If you create a document 5000 x 5000 pixel, added text on the subject, then it would print in nearly 20 "x 20" at 250PPI and text would be reasonably strong.

Note: If your image is enlarged to a much smaller size it will be pixelated. You must add the text after enlarging the image or start by creating the largest size document from the beginning.

  • Resize a photo for printing (proportions)

Hi, I hope someone can help me with something that seems like it should be very simple, but I can't seem to understand.

When I matter my photos from my DSLR in Bridge and then open in Photoshop the image size vary, but the typical size is 16 "x 22" and I want to be able to print the full image as an 8 'x 10' without cropping or lose parts of the picture. "  Is there a way to do this?  When I am trying to reduce the size of the image, the measures never come out to 8 "x 10", sometimes it gets indeed not small and large. "  I even tried resizing the canvas and which makes it worse.

Ideally, once I got this figured out I would try to do something so that I can prepare several photos at the same time.

    Thank you :-)

The proportions are different between 16 x 22 and 8 x 10, so you'll need to crop or add to the image. I wrote in this blogelongation.

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and a book of Surface and now when I print on my printer large format of HP7110 send all is off center to the left. I am not able to use my settings customized for a 12 x 18 prints.

The scan doctor and toubleshooting "of problems after installing WIndows 10" article were completely worthless to determine the issue. I ended up installing one of the pilots to plot to override the default settings for the printer. Pretty amazing that a printer large format will allow only certain papersizes to use when using a PC (using a Mac, you can set all the desired dimensions). HP should probably find a friendly driver for PC that does the same thing. In the meantime people must install one of the drivers of your parcel. I used the T520 pilot.
