  To activate the NPV, perform this task:

  	Command	Purpose
  Step 1	switch # configure terminal Switch (config) #.	Go into configuration mode.
  Step 2	Switch (config) # enable npv	Mode of VAN. The switch restartsand he comes back to the top in NPN mode. Note a write-erase is done during initialization.

  But I need to know about the restart. It will reboot immediately after enabling the NPIV feature or I could restart the switch when I coralie?

  NPIV is a feature and does not require a reboot; There is no break in service!

  NPV requires a reboot, all existing configurations are part!

  I think someone out there could have done this and have some advice for me.

  I want to migrate our primary file server to a virtual machine, but want to use NPIV due to extensive downtime that would cause a migration.  OS on a disk and file storage is on our san (IBM ESS800).  I want to migrate the disk OS and NPIV allows to connect the storage to the server newly imported.  During the test, I'm running into trouble, server 2003 records a disc, but I either get an unreadable disk error or event survey disk Viewer isn't ready / driver reported an error.  I followed some Brocade instructions for how to configure npiv; high level is the virtual machine is disabled, enable npiv and create WWN, add the raw disk (tried with scsi and scsi 0: x 1:x think a separate controller can help) in virtual mode, add the name wwn to the brocade switch (ports are npiv active) and the SAN and then turn on windows server.

  Any help is greatly appreciated and I thank you all for taking the time to read this.

  Once again, NPIV is just for the management. There is no benefit to you, and it does not offer an additional view to the SAN LUNS.

  With NPIV, SAN administrators see VMS and can identify their traffic and add a redundant layer of masking the LUNS and the quality of service controls, but virtual machines are still isolated as before and do not have any extra in SAN visibility. They still not see Fibre Channel host bus adapters and can not see targets Fibre Channel or scan LUN which are not expressly attributed to them by the administrator of the ESX Server.

• 6248UP FI Cisco Nexus 5Ks connectivity

  Hi guys,.

  Can someone advise me please on how best to implement the following connections?

  I am trying to connect a pair of fabric of interconnection (6248UP with 32ports) to a pair of Nexus 5Ks (5548UP) with the 5Ks linking directly to the storage (CEG). It is a small deployment. The 5Ks will run full Services of fabric such as zoning configuration, etc. Either way, vPC will be running between FIs them and 5Ks ethernet only for traffic.

  My question is:

  1. what type of connection should I use between the 6248UP - FIs and the pair of 5Ks. should I configure say 2 ports on FIs them as Uplink FC ports and use an FC SFP (e.g. DS-SFP-FC8G-SW) for connections? In this way both the 5K and the FI will be clocked in-between native FC to 8G. What is the best practice?

  2. is it possible to operate the FI directly to the 5Ks FCoE and just running the native FC from the 5 K to the EMC storage?

  3. is there a doc from Cisco or a blog I can be pointed to which could contribute to the best practice for this scenario?

  Answers or any other suggestions will be appreciated.

  I have a 5.0 with an HBA qlogic esxi. I created a VM and rhel is installed.

  Then I activated the npiv on this virtual machine and saw that it generated node WWN and port WWN.

  However, when I logged in the comments, I am not able to see the names of ports in

  / sys/Class/scsi_host/Host {n} / device / fc_host:host {n} / port_name

  Are there additional configuration on the side of the virtual machine to allow the WWNS within the guest?

  I'm working on a scenario where a client will make Direct Attach Storage for a pair of UCS fabric of interconnections. It will also need to connect a device of backup based on the CF to the FI. So let's run the s FI mode Switch CF.

  There apparently is a virtual machine on the blades which must have virtual HBA running in order to access their specific LUN.

  The question is whether the fabric interconnect (version 2.1(3b)) will support NPIV when running in the FC switch mode. Or the GUI or CLI Configuration guide mentions this, and I have not any FI to connect to check.

  Can anyone confirm this, either by pointing to a URL where it can be clarified or by connecting a FI Switch FC mode and by:

  connect nxos

  have SH

  or see the race |  feature Inc.

  and check if the npiv feature is enabled or not?

  Hi, I'm looking for model workloads running on multiple virtual machines on a vSphere 5 / ESXi host Fibre Channel 5. I'm not 100% certain if unique FCIDS and WWPN is used for virtual machines. Here is my understanding. If you know the answer, I'd appreciate it if you can clarify for me.

  I think I understand:

  -If a virtual computer simply uses the virtual disk, then it is not a unique FCIDS / WWPN assigned to this virtual machine.

  -If a virtual computer is configured to use CF NPIV (under VM properties-> change settings for virtual machine-> Options), then a single FCIDS / WWPN is assigned to this virtual machine. The host that performs using NPIV.

  -Example 1: If a host has 40 virtual machines installed and that all of them use only the virtual disk (i.e. no NPIV FC enabled), then the host uses a FCIDS (i.e. the HBA N_Port FCIDS) and WWPN for send i/o down the infrastructure of storage for all virtual machines.

  -Example 2: If a host has 40 virtual machines, and each of them has CF NPIV is enabled, then the there will be 40 unique FCIDS / WWPN observed out of HBA of the host.

  Is the above correct? I myself would trace if I have a FC Analyzer, but I have not at this stage. So I have to ask this question here.

  Assuming that you have a valid SIM card in the phone, it is more often symptomatic of a phone that has been hacked or jailbroken to unlock.

  Where do you have the phone first?

  I think it should not because after sending the text it comes just up on their phone as a text message you only, but I want to just make sure

  Thanks for your post. I understand that you wanted to confirm if a mass message will convert to a group message after activating again Group Messaging. I certainly understand wanting to send a mass text message without launching a group of crazy message where number of all is shared. I'll be more than happy to help clarify.

  I tested on my iPhone, and so my previous knowledge on the messages, I discovered some great information. When you send a mass text with disabled group messaging message, it sends the messages individually and these other people only get a text without your mass SMS numbers. When you have enabled messaging group once again, it won't change the message on their end, and if they say it will for you.

I know how it is important for you to be able to turn on location Services. When you go to System Preferences, then Security & Privacy, make sure you click on the padlock at the bottom left and type your admin password. Then you should be able to turn on location Services.

  No, it's all the sense of the guest network... not the LAN access... in the case otherwise you may as well give them full access. Once they access the system printer and music they can access everything.

  Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. I understand Apple pay is not an option when the double click the Home button. I know access pay Apple for a locked screen can do so useful everyday. I'm happy to help you to get this resolved with you.

  I recommend first restart your iPhone. This can solve many unexpected behaviours. Follow the steps below if necessary.

  1. Press and hold the sleep/wake button until the Red slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your device completely off.
  3. Once the device turns off, press and hold the sleep/wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

  Restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

  If the problem persists, the next option would be to reset all settings. It takes all the defaults, including passwords and Wi - Fi networks, alerts, notifications, brightness, wallpaper and sounds. This will also remove your cards Pay of Apple. Even if no content is lost with this step, it is always a good idea to back up first.   You bought the phone from your provider? If this isn't the case, you can have a phone that does not support the LTE bands used by your carrier. Who is your provider? What is the model of the phone? Go to settings > general > topic > model and report to him.
