enkitec navbar rendered in IE 11

Running Apex 4.2.4 against database 11 g, using the reactive Blue theme.  I use the navbar enkitec plugin to display a menu in my pages.  The navigation bar is in my Global Page and there is no template applied to the area of the navigation bar.  When running in Firefox and Chrome the menu renders correctly.  However when running in IE 11 a ball mark appears next to each item, as well as some extra spacing between the elements of the first time that the page is:

ie.png

When running in Firefox/Chrome:

firefox.png

If I refresh the browser window in Internet Explorer, the menu then renders correctly.  Seem to remember having seen this kind of behaviour before with IE in other applications, I don't remember the solution.  All the world has known this before and was able to overcome? The standard of our company is to use IE 11 while Firefox is also deployed on all computers so worst cases I can issue a directive to use the app in Firefox. It would be much better if the app worked correctly in all browsers.  Earlier, I had a few problems with the elements rendered correctly when the compatibility view checkbox has been checked, but it is not checked.  Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the suggestion, your theory was correct, and the post you suggested showed me in the right direction!

Add to the header of my page HTML attribute fixed the problem:

  • Have 2 Enkitec Navbars

    Hi all

    Request Express 4.2.4.00.08
    I'm putting in place the 2 regions of plugin navbar enkitec on the same page.  My goal is to have the 2nd plugin region be a list of icons using the icons provided in the plugin (all have url links) and position them in the right corner.  In my example, I have just 'Test' in replacement.
    I'm able to set an example on apex.oracle.com
    Workspace: RWTEST
    Username:testuser
    PW:test
    Page 10, 11 and 12 are the enkitec navigation bar Setup. (tab 3 tab1 and tab2 link to these pages as well)  The navbar enkitec was working properly, but it's blue area under the navigation bar when I add a second region of enkitec navigation bar. (Page 11, tab 2, is how I want it to look.)  I disabled the second region Enkitec Navbar on this page) I know that I can use CSS to set the background in white color but it's the best way?  What is the cause of the Blue zones when a second navigation bar is added?
    Thank you
    Brett

    Hi Brett,

    The blue bar is part of the header.  For some reason, it grows 84px to 104px during the second bar is added. I think what happens is that the section of uHeader knows that there is a margin on .navbar class during the second navigation bar is added.

    My recommended dose is to remove the "margin-bottom: 20px;".navbar, then add these 20px to the uHeader element if the content of the page does not immediately after the header.

    So, something like this:

    Add:

    #uHeader {margin-bottom: 20px ;}}

    Delete:

    .ek - nb .navbar {margin-bottom: 20px ;}}

    I added this override on Page 0 as global.css region.

  • Drop-down list programmatically Enkitec navbar

    Hello

    I don't think that someone might know how to get a drop-down menu to open the page load?

    Scott

    Add a class "open".

    You will need target menu drop-down real, if you have several.

    Thus, for example, I was able to do this:

    $("li.dropdown:first").addClass("open")

  • Enkitec NavBar slow loading CSS

    Hello community!

    I am currently struggling with the NavBar Enkitec about loading times. I think that this is not related to the plugin itself, but it is the only element that is affected so far.

    During the loading of Apex is a little more slowly than usual (maybe offline cell) the navigation bar takes over until CSS was extracted from the server. I get a 'list-Tree", which disappears when the correct CSS file has been loaded.

    I tried to change the numbers in sequence, but without success. Do you have a hint for me?

    Best regards

  • Enkitec Navbar plugin

    Hello

    The Enkitec plugin Navbar is nice and easy to implement.  However, it leaves a big gap between the bar of navigation and breadcrumbs if I place the navigation bar "Position in the region of the 4 Page Template" and the bread crumbs in "Page Template region of the post 1" - or elsewhere as long as bread is below the navigation bar. ""  Is there anyway to fix this?  I tried to change some css classes, but did not succeed.

    Thank you.

    Hi Sky,

    It is a defect that was setting margin-bottom 20px. I added the following to your page level model CSS inline:

    .ek-nb .navbar{
       margin-bottom: 0 !important;
    }

  • Enkitec navbar plugin - made long time

    Hello

    I imported a request for my local environment in apex.oracle.com and the bottlnecks of rendering time when processing plug-ins navigation bar.

    Debugging starts

    type: PLUGIN_COM_ENKITEC_NAVBAR

    ... (covers things up to the final debug)

    attribute_25:

    which does nothing except systematically take 20 seconds.

    I see no attribute 25 used or mentioned in the plug-in, and the local version works fine.

    The list, use the navigation bar is a static list without special code or SQL. conditions

    I have another application using the plugin fine.

    Any ideas?

    Scott

    After having changed things from a dozen to try to identify the cause of the problem, I added some debugging for the plug-in to locate the location of the problem - I thought that the 25 attribute was a Kipper.

    Almost paradoxically - when based on a static LOV and executed in the environment of apex.oracle.com where there are thousands of applications - this query didn't perform well:

       FROM apex_application_list_entries p
       WHERE list_id = list_entries_cur.p_list_id
       CONNECT BY NOCYCLE PRIOR list_entry_id = list_entry_parent_id
       START WITH list_entry_parent_id IS NULL

    So by replacing with a fixed-line base.

       FROM (SELECT * FROM apex_application_list_entries p
             WHERE list_id = list_entries_cur.p_list_id) p
       CONNECT BY NOCYCLE PRIOR list_entry_id = list_entry_parent_id
       START WITH list_entry_parent_id IS NULL

    I think I used only the dynamic queries with this plug-in on apex.oracle.com, so I've never met it.

  • Enkitec vertical list Navbar appears momentarily

    Apex 4.2.0.00.27

    22.0 Firefox, IE 8

    Just started using the Enkitec Navbar, and we noticed that when a page is displayed a vertical list always appears momentarily before being replaced with the list of the navigation bar. It happens on all requests, we installed on, and each time a page is updated.

    I downloaded the demo on apex.oracle.com to demonstrate, but it happens so rarely there is not interesting to watch. I guess it's something to do with our (network installation of speed, put in cache?).

    If someone else has had this experience and overcome, I would be grateful for suggestions as to where we might start looking.

    Thank you very much

    Nick.

    Your suspicion about the speed and network performance are correct. What you see is a list of the items before the CSS applies to them.

    Wouldn't be an option to move your goods plugin in the filesystem (Web server)?

    What you do is to download all of the assets that the plugin uses (js, CSS, png,...).  Place them in your Web server.  Do not place them in the directory is, use a custom one as/c/navigation bar / (but use what you want)

    Go to the plugin, and then replace the prefix 'file' #PLUGIN_PREFIX # for "/ c/navbar /" so that the plugin uses them files form the file system.

    This helps because then the plugin doesn't have to get resources to the database whenever she makes.

    Thank you

  • How to access the CSS files for the plugin Enkitec-database file directory navigation bar

    Apex 4.2.3.00.08

    Enkitec-NavBar-1-2-0-for-4-2

    Hi I am faced with the same question that: https://community.oracle.com/thread/2563229

    Enkitec vertical list Navbar appears momentarily until it is formatted by CSS and it seems OK.

    It is really annoying and makes pages look stupid. This problem is identified as a performance problem and can be solved by putting the support of Plugin files in directories of files instead of the database.

    I created a directory on the database server: D:\102175\Kav\Plugin

    I created a Directory pointing to the file directory database:

    CREATE or REPLACE directory PLUGIN AS "D:\102175\Kav\Plugin".

    GRANT READ THE PLUGIN DIRECTORY TO THE PUBLIC;

    GRANT READ THE PLUGIN DIRECTORY TO ANONYMOUS.

    GRANT READ THE PLUGIN DIRECTORY FOR UTVIKLING.

    I also copied the CSS etc support plugin files in the files directory.

    In the Apex plugin I changed the prefix 'file' #PLUGIN_PREFIX # D:\102175\Kav\Plugin

    Now all the Navbar formatting disappeared and now the navigation bar appears only in form of vertical list.

    I also tried to use the PLUGIN as 'File prefix' same thing.

    I'm not Apex or Web expert so I'm sure there is something that I misunderstood.

    Hope some of you are able to help out me.

    Sincerely

    Arild

    Hmmm, well it does not matter if you do the mapping. The embedded PL/SQL gateway is well integrated in the database in PL/SQL.  All your resources (images, CSS, javascript, etc.) are still be extracted from the base in order to be served to the client. Those in the file system are not in use after installation.

    This is going to be heavy.

    I think you may still be able to make some optimizations by moving the assets of plugin for a name that is mapped by the gateway.

    In your apex installation, take a look at apxldimg.sql see how records and assets are added.  You can then add the plugin files.

    See if that helps.

    In addition, you can follow the comments of Patrick on the post you are referencing and move the inclusion of files to the top of the page AND change the plugin so it does ' t add any more files.  Now in theory, you can skip the download folder and the image and add the plugin assets as standard apex post and reference them with #WORKSPACE_IMAGES # #APP_IMAGES, or # (if you add specifically for an application). But you still want to include them at the top of the page.

    Sorry... I know it's a lot of things to take and much heavier than expected.

    Thank you

  • My message to process is behind my CSS dropdown menu (issue 25)

    Hi all

    Is anyone using the CSS menu drop down with the list of APEX that Scott Wesley gives a tutorial on how to go?  According to the guidelines of this blog: base Oracle: CSS menu using APEX list drop-down

    His departure from here: ultimate Horizontal Drop-Down Menu Demo | Free CSS Menu drop-down framework

    Im running APEX 4.2.4... Ive just crossed to March and updated the application to issue 25. Ive also successfully installed the CSS drop according to the tutorial from Scott... Everything works great and I got to rebuild the application to use with theme 25...

    However, Ive suddenly found that when I get a message error or process jump towards the top of the page as a result of insert/update, or a validation error. , the drop down menu is always on... (i.e. the message box and the content behind the menu..)

    Ive tried to change the regions to my menu list, without success. I guess only he the some CSS is not quite right.

    Ill download a trial on the site, but is anyone using this and hit the same error...?

    For the CSS for the reference excluding images model is:

    <div id="navwrap">
    <ul id="nav" class="dropdown dropdown-horizontal" style="margin-bottom:10px;">

    <style>

    ul {

      list-style-type: none;

    }

    #navwrap {

      float:left;

      width:100%;

      margin-bottom:4px;

      background:#f6f6f6;

      border-style:solid;

      border-color:#d9d9d9 #d9d9d9 #d9d9d9;

    What is important is not that the style sheet is stored in the file system, but it is referenced in the page head element (as required by the HTML specification) is available when the browser starts to build the DOM model. You can use an external style sheet located in the APEX or XMLDB repository rather than the file system and refer to this in the page CSS file URL property or the templates or put the rules in the CSS Inline property page template.

    Enkitec vertical list Navbar appears momentarily

    FAC586. Point taken. As always, his maximum weight the chances of the generation of the example on apex.oracle.com vs whether an easy answer...

    I been using CSS for more than 15 years and find that when you use the theme 25 and other new APEX themes here are a few easy answers. Stir in 3 party components and multiple devices and user agents and the possibility of a simple answer is remote. People with the answers do not always have a half hour is detached to reproduce a problem, but can spend 5 or 10 minutes watching an existing example. When it's your problem probably is to you to put the bulk of the effort in fixing it?
