  • PID control with big delay in the process variable

    Hello

My goal is to control the temperature via a valve and heat exchanger. I proceeded variable (temperature) measured from a hose. This temperature should be raised a few degrees with a heat exchanger. So basically I need to order a valve that allows the water to flow through the heat exchanger to raise the temperature to the desired level.

My original plan was to use a base PID regulation to operate the dispenser. However, it is about 0.5 to 1 minute of delay time in the temperature probe after I opened the valve, which increases the temperature. This leads to a situation where the PID regulation valve fully open during this period (trying to get the temperature rise). Then once the temperature begins to rise it fires quite quickly. PID begins turning the tap off almost immediately, but because of the time delay in the sensor, the temperature exceeds seriously. This led to severe oscillation and at worst unstable processes. I tried to adjust the PID control to "predict" the timer to close the valve in advance to minimize the excess, but failed.

I would appreciate if anyone has any ideas how to make this type of control with Labview PID functions. I also wonder if there is a better type of control procedure for this scenario as a PID control?

    -Lars

This is a very common situation in the heating control, and generally PID can be adjusted to make it work. How do you do the tuning? If you do it by trial and errors, you have little chance to succeed. For a slow process with time delay, I like to use the method Cohen Coons, or similar open Ziegler-Nichols-loop method. The idea is that you temporarily remove or disable the PID. Set the valve in a fixed position and wait for the temperature to stabilize. Then, change the setting of the valve and record temperature at regular intervals data until the temperature is stable again to a new value. Use these data to get the initial values of PID using the equations provided by the tuning method you choose.

  • CodeMeter USB caused a significant delay in the process of starting the BIOS on Z200

I use a dongle CodeMeter (CodeMeter) and would prefer to be permanently connected, however whenever I leave it in when starting there is a delay of approximately 2.5 minutes (Don't exaggerate not) just after the BIOS blue HP screen (a cursor flashes in the left corner). I use a Z200 machine. I disabled the boot to removable devices and this still happens. Also, if I get out the dongle CM put in USB storage devices common there is no problem (so it's something to do with the BIOS to interact specifically with the dongle). I don't have this problem on any of my machines Z800 (other machine Yes, but I don't think the BIOS that are very different).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

Did. In any case, do not use a hub (ie. the monitor) solved the problem. Not sure what is the problem with USB hubs, but I'm going to call this sovled.

  • HP Envy 4500: Mac running El Capitan will not recognize the HP Envy 4500 printer more

Last week I was able to print to my HP Envy 4500 to my MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, both running El Capitan.  However, when I went to print today, no computer cannot find my printer.

I tried everything I found on these forums of discussion... the network reset, feeding all turned off, turning off iPv6, etc. anything.

I have a USB cord used to print today and when I went in the connected USB printer utility, I could select Configure the wireless, but again, make the message: not accessible device.  It notes the wireless network, the settings were downloaded successfully on my device, however, your Mac could not locate the device on the network.   My Mac is both connected to the same wireless network.

    Help!

    Hello

I restart your Mac and try the above steps again - if it does not prove successful, I then reboot your router and repeat the steps.

  • How can I run two different versions of Firefox, the last does not work with a site important I need to use?

With the latest version of Firefox, I can't ' fast email ' to my students through the ANGEL of the College System. I had to uninstall and go to an earlier version. I prefer the new rev.

A way to run two different versions. It doesn't have to be simultaneously. Seems to be a problem on the Mac and my XP systems.

    Thank you

You can install the portable version of Firefox 3.6.x to access Web sites that don't work with Firefox 5 +.

  • Running out of disk space and the need to remove the old clichés

I recently joined a company owning an ESXi 4.1.0 (build 260247) server with 4 500GB data warehouses.  One of our servers main database (Ubuntu/Postgres), which uses only one of the data warehouses (4 datastore) has 21GB 465 GB free.  It is currently configured to store all settings, storage and snapshots on this unique data store.  The hard disk is configured as thin.

The virtual machine has crashed a few days ago, when it ran out of disk space.  We removed a small second partition (which was in the same data store) and cleared space, but we receive extremely weak with only 5% of the data left store.

I have read many posts and wanted to get the opinion of this community before I move forward.   Because we do not use the 4.1 last I heard some issues using the option "Remove all" that it may require more disk space and others recommended to manually delete snapshots from the closest to the base, but it seems that in this case it can merge the snapshot with the original without freeing all the space.

We are not all of the snapshots and I'm fine with delete them, but I assure you we will not run out of disk space in the process and complicate things further.

It is best to manually remove these snapshots starting with the one closest to the base or by using the "Delete All" (or something else)?  In addition, if we go with the manual option, is it possible with the virtual machine upward or do we need to close first?

    Current snapshots:

    snapshot1.jpg

Current data warehouses associated with VM (really unique using the 4 data store)

    Welcome to the community,

After the screenshot, your virtual disk 'arrow_db1.vmdk' stocked thickness!

With the thick disc service and ESXi 4.1 (the problem with "Delete All" is related to version 4.0), you can run safely "Delete All". However, due to low disk space, I recommend that do you with the virtual machine off. If turned on, a new temporary snapshot will be created, which - according to the workload of the virtual machine - can grow and fill in the data store.

Due to the size of snapshot and depending on the speed of your storage space, you need to plan a few hours well downtime.

  • Delay of the spike in Facebook game - Stick run

How can I fix the lag in the stickrun called facebook game? I have more updated version of flash player.

  • Envy 17 t-j100: ENVY 17 t-j100 games for 5-10 seconds all lag a few minutes/Bios Update issues

I just bought this laptop rarely used a few days ago.  He had a clean recovery of Windows when I picked it up and I spent a few days in day and to learn to play well together (Leap movement, fingerprint sensor, etc.)  I've updated absolutely everything I could to the latest drivers and finally sat down to play games.

Here's where my problems began.  I installed Skyrim and Portal 1.  Initially, I put the properties graphic high heat, since that is the recommended setting and tried to play.  The game started quickly and the graphics are superb.  I played for about 10 minutes and the video started trolling and I could hear the shift in the audio as well.  I stop, rebooted and the same thing.  I put the graphic quality for low on both games and still the same problem.

I read that it is often caused by overheating, so I checked the cooling fans and vents and both are clean.  I also confirmed that all the fans are working.  I also read that this can be resolved by updating the bios.  I tried several times via HP Support Assistant and have so far failed.  It downloads, installs, flashes, restart, picking them up at the old version.  Very frustrating.

I bought this camera as a desktop replacement that I am hoping to use for the moderate game.  I really hope someone can help me.

    System information:

HP ENVY 17 Leap Motion SE NB PC

    F1J39AV

    8.1 Windows 64-bit

    Intel Core i7-4702MQ @ 2.20 Ghz

    16 GB of Ram

NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2 GB

    2 TB HARD DRIVE

I'm running it on current alternative, using the NVIDIA card exclusively and have every setting I can find High Performance value.

Nope.  Off CoolSense, crank all the settings to ultra, even downloaded the HD texture pack and it works very well.  CoolSense was my problem.  I don't usually use it on a flat surface and I guess CoolSense wobbly.  HWMonitor to verify time and there was a NET improvement of cooling without CoolSense.  Thanks for your time, but this laptop is now shouting through games at high resolution.

  • Bootcamp is reliable to run games?

Ive wanted to play games on my Mac which is only 3-4 days. I have looked at Bootcamp and knowing the minimum information about it, is reliable to run games and will it hurt my Mac in the long term? Also can I go back and forth between my Mac and Windows software? And far away/information appreciated, thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Support communities

Boot Camp lets you install Windows on a second partition alongside OS X, so when you use Windows your Mac behaves like any other PC. This allows to use all the material of your Mac, so it's the right thing to choose if you want to play Windows games.

However, from what you say, you have a MacBook Air. The Mac's only got integrated graphics, so don't expect do not a great performance. Also, I do not recommend you to play for a long time; your Mac fans should start working more hard, but heat can affect the health of your MacBook in the future, so be careful. Finally, games makes good battery drain quickly, so I suggest you have your MacBook plugged into the AC adapter while you're playing.

My error message is: "this version of the file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x 86 (32 bit) or an x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher. »

I tried to run the program in question (Castle of the winds) in each mode of compatibility that is on the list and it is giving me this error message every time. Other people have managed to get the program to work, so I don't know, it does not work on Windows 7, but I can't make it work for me.

  • Windows 7 can run games for vista or xp

I'm a gamer have a count with vista, but a lot of my games for xp do not work and do not work properly. So I was wondering if I should get windows 7 or just simply stick with vista for now, because I want something that can run all my games.

    Hey bradman72,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers site!

Windows 7 has a mode called the program compatibility mode.

Program compatibility is a mode in Windows that allows you to run programs written for earlier versions of Windows. Most programs written for Windows Vista are also running Windows 7, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all.

If an older program does not work, the first, and easier, to try is the resolution of the problems of compatibility of programs. It can automatically detect and fix common issues that prevent older programs to install or run correctly.

Check out the link for more details below:

    What is program compatibility?
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-is-program-compatibility

To run the program compatibility troubleshooter,

    1. open the program compatibility problems by clicking on the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting. Under programs, click on run programs for previous versions of Windows.
    2. follow the instructions in the troubleshooting.

Windows 7 also supports Windows XP Mode, which allows you to run Windows XP older right on the Windows 7 desktop business software.
