ENVY of HP dv6-7214nr Notebook PC: wifi update

I have a ralink 802.11bgn network adapter rt3290 and want to switch to 5 ghz.  This update is possible with my laptop, and what network card do you recommend?  I would buy one that suits to capture weak signals as my Wifi reach barely into my garage.  Thank you.

Hi @gstone32926,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome.

I looked in your question about your computer laptop dv6-7214nr of HP ENVY and want to replace the Wlan card. Here a link to your Page 57 of repair for replacement of the Wlan card.

But I must tell you that it could not make a difference in your garage. I tried with mine and it has not helped by cement and metal in the garage.

I hope that this is not enough.

Please let me know if this help solve the problem by marking this post as accept as a Solution. If you need more assistance let me know and I will gladly do whatever I can to help.

Thank you.

    Thank you

    Chris Goebel

Your wireless card is currently not 2 antennas connected to it?

It should be. I don't think that HP had begun the practice of using only a single antenna for single band wireless cards in this series of models.

Take a look now before ordering a replacement card, as running a second antenna would require a complete disassembly of the laptop including the area on display at the antenna of the road a 2nd.

If your laptop's wireless card has two antennas already attached, all you need to do is to uninstall the drivers in the devices and current wireless network card Manager, stop the PC and swap on the map.

I want to download drivers AC 7260 first, if you are ready to install after you connect your new card.

I also suggest you get the card with number HP on this subject.  You can find other suppliers and more HP for less money.

  • ENVY of HP dv6-7246us Notebook PC Wireless "turned off", can't go back.

Help, please. I have a HP ENVY dv6-7246us Notebook PC with a Qualcomm QCA9565 Atheros 802.11b/g/n wireless adapter. This camera has worked flawlessly since purchase in January 2013. But for the last 2 weeks, the adapter has been disabled and I can't find a way to reactivate.

In Device Manager, the adapter is shown to work properly. The indicator light (f12) shows white as it should and active / disable correctly in and out of airplane mode.

I tried to open the Properties tab in nothing helps network connections. I could not find a newer driver for the adapter.

As you can see, the ethernet adapter works well. I have 64-bit Windows 8 and use AVG anti-virus.

I'm hoping to find a solution to what I need the wireless to work properly, or I'll just get another computer.

    Thank you.

OK, here's the deal. I talked to my grandson 13yo the problem and at the very least, I feel embarrassed.

The problem was a setting in Windows 8, I don't know. (Bring up the menu on the right side of the screen, click settings at the bottom of the list, and then select the wifi tab.) Think back to Windows 7.

I appreciate your time to your time. I'm marking this as resolved point. Thank you very much.

  • ENVY of HP dv6-7215tx Notebook PC back for win 7

Somebody has experiences in return HP dv6-7215tx Notebook PC ENVY come back to win 7 HP with any success, win 8 just don't do it for me?

Main prob trying to get around the raid drivers.

    Hello:

    See if it works...

Download the drivers from this link below (first or second file listed - 32 or 64 bit depending on the case).

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=23060&keyword=Intel+RAPI...

Extract the files on a usb flash drive.

With the flash player and the installation of W7 media connected to the computer, boot from the installation of W7 media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and hopefully W7 should install.

You can then use all the W7 x 64 drivers and software by the dv7t-7000.

The pilot USB3 that you are interested in is this one...

This package provides the driver for the Intel USB 3.0 controller host for the notebook models and operating systems. The driver allows USB 3.0 devices.

    File name: sp56164.exe

But before installing this driver, make sure that you install this driver first and restart.

  • "Plugged in, not charging" on Windows 8 HP ENVY dv6-7214nr Notebook PC

I have owned this product for nearly two weeks without any problem. Now, he says he's "plugged in, not support.» The battery is now 94% of the fees, but does not load any further. The PC can operate without the battery inserted, so the power adapter should not be the problem. HP Support Assistant says that the State of the battery is 'OK '.

    Hello

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your computer problems with WiFi and laptop dv6-7300ex of HP ENVY staying on when the battery mode. Here is a link that shows you how to change options in Figure 19 of the link allowing the hybrid sleep.

It shows the battery options and you can check what power plan options on this moment, you are. Balanced is always recommended with laptops.

You can try to use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows 10.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

    I hope this helps.

  • ENVY of HP DV6 7214nr and temperature with HARD drive

I have a HP ENVY DV 6 7214 nr, you can check the sepecific here: http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Laptops/HP-ENVY/C2L40UA

When I start the machine, the HARD disk temperature is 37 ° c. I check by CrystalDiskInfor 5.4.2

But after 30 minutes, I visit some site. (Just visit site Web - no game) The temperature becomes 45º and keep it. The keyboard is hot.

When I play a game online, (no hard game). Temperature become 51-51 ° c, some time it becomes 57ºC. So hot, keyboard and my left hand so hot. I can't put my hand on it.

I capture it. Please see the photo.

    My question is that:

    What is a normal temperature?

Have an error with my HARD drive or my knees?

I need to bring my laptop to HP for warranty?

Please help me answer this question.

    Sorry for my English skills.

Hello thanhtanpc.  I understand that your notebook is running hot.

At the laptop never turns off randomly?

A good place to start is to update your BIOS.  Once the BIOS updates often contain settings for the cooling system in the notebook that can allow it to run more efficiently.  Here is the latest version of your BIOS.

You must also follow the instructions contained in this document.  It covers the cooling of the laptop cleaning system.  This is a good preventative maintenance and I suggest you do this once a month or two.

Let me know the results.  Nice day!

  • ENVY of HP dv6-7210us Notebook PC: HP Diagnostic Hard Drive Error MC0J2W-6B87LN-QFPK1F-60UU03

My computer laptop girls take it to always start and the login screen. When that finally happens, it does not. I ran the HP Quick check (UEFI) diagnostics, it failed with the error of hard disk MC0J2W-6B87LN-QFPK1F-60UU03. A recovery will fix this or do I have to replace the hard drive?

Need a new hard drive. If you are still in warranty HP will send a.  If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get a quality at least equal the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can use a 750 GB hard drive, but not a 320 GB hard drive.

  • ENVY dv6-7214nr - mSATA does not start

    ENVY of HP dv6-7214nr - 8.0 Windows (x 64)

I installed a KINGSTON 30 GB (KINGSTON SMS200S330G) mSATA with 8.1 Pro N (x 64) Windows on this subject, to use as a boot device.

The system recognizes the new hardware, but when I try to set the mSATA as the primary boot device, the system recognizes as a boot device. Even if I disconnect my 750 GB HDD (ST750LX003-1AC154), to see if it solves any conflict.

No idea on how to solve this issue will be appreciated.

It is intended to be a cache of acceleration drive. It speeds up boot time and makes the programs open faster. It allows a slow to behave more like an SSD mechanical drive. You can enable the acceleration of the program Intel Rapid Storage. It improve performance even with 16 GB of memory, even if HP will not sell it in this configuration because a 30 gig WSSD is not compatible quick start recovery from hibernation because it is not large enough to hold the entire contents of RAM and other things that the WSSD has hold.

    Hello

Your computer is a HP Pavilion dv6-6112nr laptop PC:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02996687

    1. WiFi: your machine was built around 2011 so the wifi upgrade is out of the question. You can use the USB dongle if you wish.

2 for the RAM: your device supports 16 GB max (it has 4 GB from the beginning). Please see page 66 of the following manual for part number. You can buy HP or elsewhere.

The manual also shows you how add/replace RAM. More manual:

  • Installation of mSATA ENVY HP dv6-7214nr

    Hello world

I just ordered refubrished HP ENVY dv6-7214nr, and I would like to know if I can be able to install the player mSata on this model. If so, the maximum size is 32 GB or more?

Thank you for all the answers!

    smokepl wrote:

    Thanks for the reply pepe999.

    Finally two questions:

    (1) 32 GB is the maximum or can I install 128 GB?

    (2) mSATA can be matched with a hybrid hard drive? If not, why?

    Thank you once again

    (1) the module 32 GB is listed as compatible, but a 128 GB you might work too (I guess).

    (2) mean you use both at the same time? I don't know, but I would not do anyway. The mSATA is probably more slow (SATA II) as a pure SATA III SSD as Corsair Force GT or 840 Samsung but a 128 GB mSATA more a disk of 1 TB HARD pure isn't a bad configuration at all.
