ENVY of HP DV6 7214nr and temperature with HARD drive

I have a HP ENVY DV 6 7214 nr, you can check the sepecific here: http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Laptops/HP-ENVY/C2L40UA

When I start the machine, the HARD disk temperature is 37 ° c. I check by CrystalDiskInfor 5.4.2

But after 30 minutes, I visit some site. (Just visit site Web - no game) The temperature becomes 45º and keep it. The keyboard is hot.

When I play a game online, (no hard game). Temperature become 51-51 ° c, some time it becomes 57ºC. So hot, keyboard and my left hand so hot. I can't put my hand on it.

I capture it. Please see the photo.

My question is that:

What is a normal temperature?

Have an error with my HARD drive or my knees?

I need to bring my laptop to HP for warranty?

Please help me answer this question.

Sorry for my English skills.

Hello thanhtanpc.  I understand that your notebook is running hot.

At the laptop never turns off randomly?

A good place to start is to update your BIOS.  Once the BIOS updates often contain settings for the cooling system in the notebook that can allow it to run more efficiently.  Here is the latest version of your BIOS.

You must also follow the instructions contained in this document.  It covers the cooling of the laptop cleaning system.  This is a good preventative maintenance and I suggest you do this once a month or two.

Let me know the results.  Nice day!

  • Envy of HP DV6 - 7215TX updated 1 TB HARD drive up to 1 TB SSD?

    Hello

I just wanted to confirm that with the model DV6-7215TX can upgrade its SSD HARD drive? This model has the 32 GB SSD for fast start, then 1 TB HDD. If I simply clone the disk for one SSD same size. Then everything just move them, that's going to work? Or is there a more complex configuration for the raid working between SSD/SSD instead of SSD/HDD?

    Thanks for your time!

    See you soon

No doubt an SSD isn't the thing to have and the problem you describe is exactly what would be improved by an SSD... long time linear file transfer. The existing drive to the WSSD is an obstacle, however. The WSSD and the SATA drive is in a RAID array. The BIOS is set to RAID to allow that, and you have no control over the parameter disable RAID in BIOS. If you really want to install a SSD I go into the Intel Rapid Storage console and disable acceleration by the mSATA reader. I have then clone the SATA drive to the SSD drive and replace the former with the latter.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

I currently store my pictures on and an external hard drive.  Lightroom 6 was not able to find the picture momentarily files.  I inserted an external Flash DRIVE after removing the hard drive and the computer renamed the stick with the same drive letter that has been designated by Lightroom to store my photos.  I could go into my Windows 10 and reset the player to the letter that Lightroom has given at the beginning of the external hard drive.   However, I know this can happen again, if I connect any stick USD or another device, while the external hard drive is not connected to my laptop.   I found the information that I can do the new designation of the final drive by choosing a letter it is 1/2 way or higher in the alphabet.   I would like to turn an external hard drive on a strong letter, warns we hope this previous problem.   My question is, if I already have a lot of pictures on this external hardrive with the designation of the current drive, how it becomes a higher letter and have 6 Lightroom recognizes files, now under the new designation of drive letter without having to go to each photo individually and manually force Lightroom 6 find each photo.  It would take more time than I'd like to lose.  Is there a way to get just 6 Lightroom to recognize the new disk designation has changed and is able to find all of the existing files?

I have read the ADOBE LightRoom 6 manual and seem not to be able to find anything on how to do it.

    Any help would be welcome.

    Thank you!

So in Windows, you can select a drive like q letter (or any other letter you want only towards the end of the alphabet)

Then in Lightroom, you can reconnect to the photos on q: the following instructions (see specifically 4 Figure and related text)

  • Pavilion dv6 3080el - sistem recovery after hard drive change

    Hello world!

I have a pavilion laptop dv6 3080el with windows 7 and after the HARD drive that basically, I bought a disc double, specifically BLACK (2) WD Dual Drive.
I used the DVD I reinstal windows using system recovery, but after I put in the DVD 5 and pressed "continue" to restart the system, I just get (after the first screen where by pressing ESC, you go to the Start Menu) wrote a black screen with "No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key".
Any suggestions on how I can complete the installation of windows?

    Thank you!!!

I just went through this same problem. See the solution posted under the message topic "pavilion dv-6 3216 does not start.

    Good luck.

  • Envy 17 t-j000 caddy tray support SSD hard drive

So, I have an ENVY 17 t-j000 Quad Edition on order. Only ordered with 1 HDD that I intend who move to the secondary place and put an SSD to the main square.

According to the manual online, it seems that readers of screw in a shopping cart / tray / support any and in need of an adapter for the connector.

Because I bought it with only 1 car. Does this mean he won't the tray with the adapter to install a 2nd drive?

And if so, where can I get this caddy and connector adapter? I really hope that it comes with it as I made it very clear on the phone I buy with 1 only drive and add a 2nd drive on my own.

    http://PartSurfer.HP.com/search.aspx?type=prod&SearchText=E0K82UA

I spend 1 hour on the phone and bounced between 3 people, each had to wait on hold for as a new call. No one could help me. They finally told me to call the HP parts store, which of course is now closed. And is only open MF 7 a - 7 p CST. 1-800-227-8164

The link above is for the model J000 Quad Edition.

I think that I need the Kit material of HARD drive and possibly the screws indicated in the same section. Although I do not know why the screws would not be included in the "Kit".

    720237-001 HDD HARDWARE KIT $30,40
    720260-001 SCREW $14.16

Wow, if I really need the screws too, it's a crazy price for screws. $30 is also a crazy price for a cable and rubber.

What makes me more upset that I'm going to make a huge deal is that I explicitly said their phone order when the laptop custom configured, that I was going to add a SSD drive myself.

They should have told me that the system is in need of these parts. For so much money, I would spend the $60 (less the discount coupon) to upgrade to dual hard drives. Which would give me these pieces with two pre-installed drives. And then I would have just replaced one with a SSD and sold new HARD drive on ebay or on site. Easily covering the cost of the upgrade of the disk. And I wouldn't have to wait to get parts or went through all that effort to source a part that must be included with the laptop. What is the point of the laptop having 2-Bay disk for the upgrade if it does not come with the owners parts be used?

Yet once, very upset that this issue has not been addressed when I talked to 2 different people when ordering my custom laptop. I spent a lot of effort in pre-sales questions to ensure he had 2 bays for hard drives to add an SSD.

And why in the world these pieces about 10 times more than they should? This is a new laptop. It's not as if these parts are for cell old abandoned.

I followed some information in the forums of someone who has had the same problem and finally, they fixed them, they said that when they made a prior microsoft update what they where missing a Parcer.

Note: I tried to save my data before, but something goes wrong and the backup will not be completed.

You can download the program for diagnotics HUtil Samsung http://www.samsung.com/global/business/hdd/support/downloads/Hutil210_iso_for_CDROM_drive.zip

It's an ISO image then unzip the file and write the ISO image to a CD.

Then restart the PC and booting with the CD. To do this, you must change the priority/boot order in the BIOS to boot from the CD first.

Once you have started the program HUtil it will detect your hard drive Samsung. Select the hard disk.

Enter the main Menu on the tool. Go into the menu of the tool and enter Auto diagnosis. Enable diagnostics to run, once done it will ask you if you want to perform a surface analysis - enter Yes. The analysis of surface will take some time to complete. If errors are found, it reported.

Once more I recommend you backup your data as soon as possible, preferably before executing HUtil program.

For more information on the program of HUtil you can go here: http://www.samsung.com/global/business/hdd/support/utilities/Support_HUTIL.html

Write when the cache is enabled: when data are written back to the hard drive, it is written in the cache that is much faster to actually write to the hard drive. An acknowledgement of receipt is then sent by saying that the data has been written on the hard disk, when in fact it does not. In this way so that the data is actually being written to the hard drive to the rest of the system can continue to work. However memory cache is volatile, if the power goes off, the data in the cache is destroyed and if it has not been written to disk hard and yet he's lost.

If your settings are correct. Usually the drives are configured for performance and the write cache is enabled. While flash drives and memory cards are configured for the fast-moving and write cache is disabled.

I tried the clean boot and now the hard drive works simply and screen went black. The mouse still moves around the screen without any outher work keys? That is what it is?

    Hello

You will need to reverse the clean boot, as it is either incidental compared to
the real cause of the problem. What, where you try to fix initially using the cleanboot?

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If so you can try the configuration - control panel
The Device Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click the driver UPDATE - then
Right click on the device and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is
CTRL + ALT + DEL and the processes tab find EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - and then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is reached
by tapping F8 as you start several times.

First check this thread in case it is simple and if not to come back to this thread.

    1. Yes, but you shouldn't. Your working data and backups must be on separate drives in case one of them goes down.

I was looking for and ask questions on the forums about upgrading my Hp to match my new game requirements. I decided to look into new technologies and to give or sell my current pc. I asked in another thread, that I should protect my information until I got rid of my HARD drives. but I now I intend to separate from my unit as a whole, not just the HARD drive. I want the new user to have access to everything, including the operating system, otherwise it seems like a waste; all keep set will use the most out of this device. However, I also want this to be safe for me. Is it possible to run DBAN, and then re - install the operating system using recovery disks (and maybe a phone call, it will be the same motherboard and cpu, so technical support does not make a fuzz about this, right?). Or running DBAN will clear things to the point where the dics can do nothing more. Thank you for your time and your answers.

You can download DBAN 2.2.6 Beta for CD-R and DVD-R media and create a bootable disc. Start the computer from the disk and nuke the hard drive completely. You can set the style of the wipe, number of passes, etc.

Please make sure that you have created a set of HP recovery disks before using DBAN. The HP recovery discs will be used to format the disk, create partitions, install the operating system and restore the 'Image' to the machine. You won't have to call someone to enable the installation of the OS, as HP uses the BIOS, a special OEM certificate and a special HP OEM Windows key to activate the window locally.
