• EPS has torn edges when it is placed

  Hi all

  I created a logo for a small non-profit and has held a variety of file formats to use them. They will have to place the logo in a variety of publications, most of which they produce themselves using Microsoft Office, including Word, Publisher and PowerPoint.

  I am convinced that the EPS file is the best format to use in this case, so that they can resize the logo if needed. However, when I tested the EPS in several Microsoft, PSE programs very edges torn when it is placed, no matter how big or small it was.

  I know EPS is not the most favoured format any longer and have provided a number of other formats file for the Foundation, but they expressly request an EPS file to be used for publications, so I really need this to work!

  I have updated high resolution flattening transparency and have completed the settings for raster document at high resolution as well. All parts of the EPS file are vector shapes and paths, and I've tried it both with the text boxes and vectorised text conversion. Nothing produces no change.

  I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, however and hoped that someone could give me the answer!

  It may just be the preview in Word image.  Try to print your Word document to see if it prints OK.

• Someone remembers Adobe Streamline? Need help for the conversion of drawings to bitmap to vector line.

  Years ago and there are probably still more OSs, Adobe had a product called Streamline this linework (well relatively effortless) effortlessly converted to vector. It was easy to sweep the original work, and the user apply settings to get an outline of eigenvector (with a reasonable number of points).  Well, that the program is no longer available and I not being able to achieve something close to perfection from Photoshop/Illustrator CS - which means I create a path to the PS and then hover over the path to Illustrator. I can never get a true vector "copy" of my scanned drawings.  I tried everything, such as upping the resolution (600-800 dpi) in the PS, which of course gives me way too complex a piece of vector, although can be used.  In any case, I'm working on a project now that whereby I really need a more transparent and less "bulky point" conversion of my work in vector contour.  The work of the line are very complex. Any suggestions, anyone?

  You will probably need a cleaning after Live Trace; Among the options we object > Pat > simplify and add Anchor Points. If you view an image, you will get suggestions.

  There are a few ways to apply; one more pretty is the use of closed paths. You can fill and stroke color (or use fill/no STROKE or cerebral vascular accident / no fill).

  Photoshop cannot import paths in general.  If you copy paths from Illustrator and paste in Photoshop, we can convert the data of the AICB in traces of Photoshop.  If you place or open a file, Photoshop can't do (it can not handle paths general case of EPS or PDF).

  But place an EPS file or PDF will retain the vector nature, so that you can color rotate, resize, convert, etc. the content without losing the quality of vector.  That was added with the Smart Objects feature just now.

  When I restarted Windows 7 after that my firewall, Zone Alarm Pro, gave an error to start the true vector Service I did and then restarted.  Now the update of Windows do not show my previously installed updates.

  I have been through ALL the steps as described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949358. I have had no success.
  One thing that bothers me, is in the configuration of the system, I have a service called true vector Internet Monitor (Zone Alarm) and when the value disable as in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135, it is the only service still running when you perform a clean restart. I don't know if this affects the Automatic Updates/configuration or not.

  Thanks for trying to help. Now my computer seems to be up-to-date.
  I followed your steps but MicrosoftFixit50202.msi did not like "my OS is incompatible. I use windows 8.  I couldn't run this in default or aggressive.
  I did go in Control Panel and disable antivirus and firewall Zone Alarm and reset Windows defender by default.
  I did IE default web browser I have prob changed when I got to the computer.
  I then returned to set up a clean boot and this time I managed to disable the true vector Internet Monitor (Zone Alarm) to run.
  I ran the reset troubleshooting of Windows with the same result as before is to say:
  Recent updates - not fixed installation problems
  Search for missing or corrupted - files detected
  I think I have restarted my computer at this stage and then tried to update again.
  It has not yet, but with the error, I got an error code and a link to help. I don't have not noticed this before. I followed the help and ran about 5 command prompts that have to do with the renaming of files I think.
  Then I tried updating again and this time 38 45 updates succeeded. I then ran the update again and it seemed to work on the other 7 updates.
  Although Windows Update said I was now updated, I was skeptical as when this whole thing started is started when I got the "windows installs updates" and then "failed to configure updates. Returning... etc"then I restarted my computer. At the start, there was no message on try to configure the updates, then, how do I know they are configured and working as it should?

• browser can not connect to the internet-help!

  Running A Dell 3000 desktop with XP.  After a reasonably stable relationship, my browser does not open an internet connection.  I tried IE and Firefox, neither of which work. When I try to open the browser, I get "connection to the 207.46.250.101 site." and then the browser tells me that it cannot open the web page. Operation of the fine to send and receive Outlook e-mail.

  The connection is through Motorola modem and router D-Link.  My office is connected to the router which is connected to the modem.  Other home computers (wired and wireless) continue to work well on the same modem-router, set up.  Comcast tech support was not able to help.  We went through recycling, ipconfig, ping, etc.  I bypassed the router by attempting a direct connection to the modem - same result.  It seems that the router and modem are in order and the problem seems to be with the office or the software.

  I tried to restore the system to an earlier time when the problem started, which did not help.  I have no restore points more early to get to the system restore.

  I got the following message with attemtps have failed to get on the internet: "Windows cannot connect to the internet using HTTP, HTTPS or FTP.  This is probably caused by the settings of firewall on this computer.  Check the settings of the firewall for the HTTP port (80), HTTPS port (431) and FTP port (21). »

  I have disabled the Windows Firewall.

  Previously, I used zone alarm and uninstalled it, although it seems always on the list Add/Remove programs in Control Panel.  Nothing opens when I double click to open the program.  When I try to remove zonealarm, I get the following message: TrueVector Internet monitor has not been uninstalled.  Uninstall wasn't able to stop the True Vector software services, this will happen if other software uses the true vector engine.  to uninstall zonealarm mare that all other true vector programs have been closed. "I don't know what another program uses TrueVector, or if it has nothing to do with the problem.

  Sorry to be verbose, but it took a lot of time and I wanted to give as much information as possible about the problem.

• Import / creating images for other documents

  I regularly use a logo .eps file. I have a black and a white separately registered version to use, depending on the context, the logo happens. However, I would be able to apply the color chart / content of the logo at will.

  Is there a way to save the eps in a vector format that allows it to be imported as a frame so I can choose a fill color or fill it with text / do it transparent?

  The only way I can see to achieve several colors of this one is to edit in Illustrator so have multiple copies - it becomes a pain when light settings for the logo and having to update more than one version.

  First of all, I highly recommend you use format HAVE rather than EPS (an obsolete format except if archaic part of your workflow requires it).

  I can't imagine a way to do exactly what you want, where the tracks are 'live' in InDesign but remain linked to those in the original logo file. But with HAVE a file, you might have different versions of color on different layers in Illustrator and change Options for the graphic placed in InDesign object layer. Color it in InDesign, or to use it as a text frame, the paths should be copied and pasted into your document of identity, which would break the link to the original logo file.

  My Pixelize dynamic objects with the resizing. When imported in EPS, placed directly vectors of GOT it, my smart objects Pixelize with resizing. Also, my dynamic objects are not make hi res when exporting to PDF, however they have the thin air in photoshop and design. Im confused, that's the first time in photoshop has already done that for me.

  Please note that my anti-aliasing button is checked when objects are placed.

  If you create your pdf to 72 dpi, then this is where I think that your problem lies. You can it not output at 300 PPI? This way your result would be much better.

  I use an image for a contact on a business card icon, but the print quality of the image is bad.

  Now this will help if I convert the image to a smart object and print the image like that? (The original image is much bigger png file I convert to smart object, and then resize it to the size of the icons)

  A vector smart object does not export vector data (and the claim has never been by Adobe as I know).

  They asked me to change the file .ai to something, that they can use in MS Publisher, so they can always change.

  I have tried and searched all hollow... Can not find a way to do it, or if it is still possible?

  MSPub will import any graphic / image format that you can import into other Office applications, ranging from the EMF / WMF / EPS / PDF for vectors to BMP/PNG/TIFF for pixel graphics. There is no such thing as a format specific chart for MSPub. Only MSPub can create (clip) extracted from the art, but they are essentially the documents just trimmed Publisher who re - use the main document format to encapsulate other works of art, imported or created in the program. • Is the path of export to illustrator the only way to get a psd w / clipping appears in Illustrator?

  I'm wasting time having to put my image in Illustrator, then manually align the clipping path. You used to be able to save a file with a clipping path an EPS in photoshop, select "maintain vector data", place it in illustrator and cmd-press Y to see the clipping path. I need the image and clipping in Illustrator and image path is too complex to create a mask of Illustrator. I tried to save it as an EPS but "retain vector data" is gray.

  Save a PSD. If you need access to the path, then incorporate him (the image in Illustrator).

  This sequence occurred three times today, and I would love to find a solution. I checked the forum and found only this message regarding the creation of PDF files.

  I'm sure I don't have access to Event Viewer, as our PC is locked pretty tight.

  Is it possible that some residual formatting MS came up with this text?

  Make sure that the text has the format that you want (for example CellBody) without "*" replaces.

  OK, I created a design that is pure vector. It has exported version EPS10, everything seems perfect until I got close and reopen the EPS file, I see little of the design elements are converted to bitmap. However, the illustrator format HAVE is still perfect. I use CS6

  Sure. EPS does not support the oval shape gradients.

  EPS10 - there is no EPS10. There are 3 EPS. That means 10 EPS is, it records an EPS 3 and is also included in this file something called data private. These private data contain a file AI 10. HAVE 10 supports blending modes and transparency, and that is why there is no flattening in the documents in the file that use. When you open the file in Illustrator, you'll be atually open this AI 10, not the EPS file.

  But if someone does not have Illustrator, it will modify the EPS 3 and of course they will not have a lot of fun with it.

• Exporter eps vector file in jpg format, keeping the dimensions in Illustrator

  I have a vector eps file I wanted to resize according to a presentation on a large screen (1920px x 1080px) and I need the final file type to be a jpg file. When I open the eps file in Illustrator CC, I change the size of my work plan at 1920px x 1080px and adapts the vector part to fit. Then I'm going to File > Export select JPEG and check the box use work plans. The jpg file is then saved as max, and the dimensions change to 8000px x 4500px. What is going on? Why does not the 1920 x 1080? In a previous post, someone explained how pixels are not a unit of measurement, so I tried to use the inches - the same thing happened. Suggestions? Thank you!
