EPUB/HTML Exportoptions scriptable?

Hey,.

with InDesign CS5.5, we have the ability to control the pixelation and position options for XHTML and EPUB export. (Object-> Object Export Options). Is it possible to access these Options via the Script? He should hang out with PageItem, but I can't find.

Did I miss something?

Thank you

Gregor

Hey,.

I was looking for ObjectExportOptions these are only the properties of SplineItem, GraphicLine, group, oval, polygon, Rectangle and NOT TextFrame/PageItem. Seems like a Bug in the GUI, I'm able to add Export Options to a Textframe.

In my opinion, this isn't the way it is intended to be used by Adobe, but GREP-style in the paragraph styles allow you to play on a certain level with your request. According to your criteria of GREP, you can select the entire paragraph or selective words or phrases. Here is an example of wrapping the two styles of child with the paragraph style:

So I found this link on the new features of the InDesign ePub: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/how-to/interactivity-fixed-layout-epub.html

As far as I know, the Page Flip animation is only SWF. I think you're out of luck.

  • EPUP export html instead of xhtml files

When I export my ePub book and crack open the markup files are in xhtml.  While all the free books I downloaded on gutenberg.org had files html inside of them.   Is there an option in InDesign to export files as html?  In case you were wondering why I wrote some JavaScript do it some ePub, analysis and javascript evaluate the function works differently with xhtml.

You cannot change the ePub file format included in InDesign. EPub html, xhtml and xml is allowed, this is why different files ePub from different vendors can also have different file extensions. You can also change your javascript to support html files, or you rename files within the ePub. In the second case, don't forget to adapt the opf, toc and linking within the xhtml files.

  • error ePub on iPad, but it is in fact

Hi, I'm in the middle of creating an ebook, I exported to test how it looks so far and everything looks great outside there is an error when it is available on iPad. Although there is an error, the document where the errors are supposed to be appear very well!

    Here is the error message:

This page contains the following errors:

error on line 162 in column 57: undefined entity "shy"

error on line 186 to column 338: undefined entity "shy"

error on line 817 to column 139: undefined entity "shy"

Here is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

    Line 162 is:

    < class td = "Table-content-cell-style" colspan = "4" >

    and 57 4 column.

    Line 186: well, IT's White!

    Line 817 is: < tr >

    There is no column 139!

As I said, the error message indicates it will make upward to the first error, however, I have a looking and it seems to be display fine after each error and beyond. Watching Sigil and adobe digital editions, there are no errors that I can see. I can't see in Kindle for Mac though; He won't just accept, but I guess that's because it's in the wrong format.

    Any thoughts?

  • How is - a export a style sheet?

    Frame 12 Adobe Help says:

"You can also use (.css) style sheets to manage styles in the published output. In this case, you can export the current styles in a .css file. You can then open this file in a text editor or .css (such as Adobe Dreamweaver), change the styles in this file and import the file back.

To export and import the stylesheet:

    1. To export the output styles defined for the output current, click Export. "

    OK, so where is it?

Nothing I can find on the menus offer this option reads regular Frame or XML mode.

Also, when I find it, I need to load css in Dreamweaver? If I should not be able to use the XML view?

No Colum, I found since then. (In fact I found a video by Bernard l. a. which explains a bit).

In the module 'Release' are 5 choices (epub, html, etc.) and selecting one highlights a button for settings. Change the settings has TWO tabs, one called Style mappings, which is where the button for import and export styles.

There a button for Automap paragraph Styles which I will experiment with the next.

Thanks for your efforts to solve my huge learning curve.

  • Numbering of chapter in Dreamweaver

When you use DW do ebooks, it is possible to avoid that the notes are numbered throughout?

It is possible to break by sections or chapters?

    Hello

DW is not an ePub Editor, so I suspect that you open files ePub html/css in Dw created using another program.

You can use JavaScript to do what you want, but that depends on you use supporting the ePub format. The other alternative would be to do this in inDesign and not Dw.

  • Easy way to remove excess line breaks in txt, html, and epub files?

Transfer to my e-reader to read web pages. I have to convert everything in epub, because the PDF files and djvus are designed for larger screens, and txt and html are not displayed correctly.

In any case, some pages have a lot of extra newlines that are arranged for larger screens.

I have to remove the line breaks to make it readable. I know that DevonTech wordservice works in txt, which I can convert it to Epub. Is there something that works in Epub itself? Is there something else that works in txt?

    Thank you.

INTHE html, these line breaks appear to be either < br / > or < br / > where the paragraph breaks are < p >. So, it seems easier to edit files ePub in the editor, as the iWrite series Epub or the caliber, that the modification of the txts.

  • Map the attributes of HTML language for export to HTML/EPUB?

Assume a character labeled InDesign "French" style The HTML code should code like this:

    < span lang = "fr" > This is an ESP. < /span>

How to map the attributes of HTML language for export such as "lang ="en"" is included as an attribute of this tag span in the exported HTML or fluid EPUB?

If InDesign will only perform this task for EPUB fixed, which is a programmatic way to manage this, other than having a human hunt for each instance of "French" in the HTML document that is exported, * without even a way to perform an automatic search / Add * query?

    Thank you.

    Hi erica,

indesignCC affect the attribute language according to the language specified in the character-/-paragraph style.

Assuming that you're stuck with another version there is always a way to GREP / regular expressions.

With a text editor like TextWrangler (Mac) Notepad ++ (Win) you can finde the opening and replace with .

What is possible with Sigil if you produce Epub files.

  • Write HTML in ID for export is of EPUB

    Hello

Is it possible to write the code/HTML tags directly in an identity document and export it as what to EPUB? In other words, the HTML code written in ID will act as HTML code in the corresponding in the exported EPUB xhtml file. Who's going to stop me from incorporating this same HTML manually once the EPUB is created. If so, what is the right syntax?

If there is no documentation to indicate to me on this subject, I would appreciate it.

It's for CS4, but I would be happy to know that if it is possible in future versions of ID.

    Thank you.

    Hello

changing the syntax or the DOM directly in InDesign is not possible in CS4 and very limited in CC.

Regarding the ePub, InDesign is a conversion tool based on the best practice experience for the code it creates. It only lets you define your own structure or the envelopes.

    Kind regards

1 - is the HTML page to specify the correct encoding, and is the file saved in this encoding? Validate your markup and style sheet in the links below.

    2. the style sheet point to the correct file?

    3. the police is a Unicode font? If so, there may be another problem with the font file. Try to use the following fonts generator to convert it into several formats.

  • How can I convert PDF files to text EPUB?

I want to files ePub simple, legible, without excess of formatting and especially bad formatting such as erratic font size changes, additional line breaks, etc. I want to be able to sideload these of my ebook reader and check these without eye strain.

I can copy the text from the pdf document and if necessary filter in Textedit, although I have rsi and want to avoid too many extra steps.

iBooks author is supposed to be for multitouch. I am disabled and cannot use the multitouch. I installed it anyway, but it is heavy on the custom formatting, when I don't want any layout format further, just plain text, paragraph breaks, chapter breaks and a functional table of contents.

I do not use iBooks himself, because I had trouble with this passage from the titles, etc. from one file to another, making it more difficult to find the right file of the wrong title.

Have you done a google search on "convert pdf to epub?  Have you tried all the solutions mentioned?

Because the PDF is not really intended to be transformed into something else, the results of these processes are often poor.  What is the purpose of your doing this - to allow you to change the police and the font size?  Calibre is a common conversion application.  See

  • Vista cannot open epub files

Hello!  Windows Vista cannot open epub files: can you help me? I have connected my Nook to my laptop to download a software update and am unable.  Thank you!

For reading the books to Nook, simply install the Nook for PC player on your computer, and it can synchronize all your Nook books purchased on your computer.

But this program does not allow you to read the ePub books you downloaded from other sources, in this case, you need Adobe Digital Editions.
