Equium A100 - 02L with an audio problem

Hello

It seems to be a relatively popular topic but I have not been able to fix my laptop. It came with Vista installed, and as it was relatively slow, I decided to install XP SP3 on the computer. I have all the drivers of Toshiba as well as all updates from windows update from Ms. Everything seems to be working fine except the sound. Windows has never picked up that I have on board sound and that he therefore never tried installing drivers. I installed those Toshiba, then those Realtek to nothing does not.

In my device manager it is said, under "other devices", there is a PCI device with no driver (yellow question mark, with a yellow exclamation point). I think that this may be the root of my problems but I was unable to do anything.

If anyone has ideas or needs any additional information, PLEASE PLEASE please ask :)

Thanks for your time.

Hello

The problem is that you must first install XP KB835221 and KB888111 patch before you try installing the audio driver.
So first install these patches (google sipmply) and after rebooting again install the audio driver.

Eventually, you will need to remove the sound from the device manager card, first, and then after the second reboot you might be able to install the audio driver.
Just try everything and check it out.

Best regards

  • Equium A100-147 with error message "PXE - E61 Media Test Failure"

    Hi all

I Equium A100 out of warranty due to the error message "PXE-61 Media Test Failure" I took it to my local computer Lamplighter, told me my Toshiba 60 GB hard drive failed (MG6034GSX) and replaced by another 120 GB model.
I tried to reload the Toshiba Recovery disk system, reload reached 75%, then the messages come in saying that it does not find a lot of operating system files.
Thinking the recovery disc was faulty, I got a replacement from Toshiba, and this reload disk gave the same problem.
I loaded XP Professional on the 120 GB HARD drive and it works OK but I'd like to load original as it came with XP MCE.

Is my problem the 120 GB HDD which should be as original 60 gb and a HDD for Toshiba genuine to accept the recovery media?

Does anyone have any ideas, I would really appreciate your help.

    See you soon

    Hello

Don t think that it is a problem of restore CD is normally impossible
I think that the problem might be related to the HARD drive.

First of all, you need to access the BIOS and should set the defaults (don't forget to save it).
Then try to format the whole HARD drive and also remove the created partitions.

Then you could try again installing the OS from the recovery CD.
    Usually, this procedure works fine

    Good luck

  • Equium A100 - 147 Virtual Sound reinstall problem

I read a few posts about the same problem I have, but with no definitive answer. I have the satellite A100-147 with Windows XP Media Center. I downloaded a few files updated on the Toshiba site (all for my model), including:

    acsil-xpmce-100008-en
    Assist-xpmce-10300-en
    confree-xpmce-59007ab-en

    SD-secure-xpmce-104-en
    Sound-xpmce-51005253
    Toupad-xpmce - 10001st - en

and then: tvs-xpmce-10312-en (latest driver Virtual Sound for the A100-147)

I uninstalled the old version of the virtual sound driver before attempting to install a new one. But as I've seen elsewhere, I get the message:

"Toshiba Virtual Sound can't stand your computer."

I spent all afternoon looking up and trying to find ways to solve this problem. I've since updated my BIOS (bios-550win). Not a thing I try it will work. I even deleted the references to his virtual in the registry where there was no ongoing conflict. It made no difference if.

Could someone Toshiba please explain to me why I am told that I can not install which worked perfectly until this morning, before these updates, which are all intended for my laptop model? This is ridiculous. My apologies for my tone, but have lost hours on it, I'm extremely frustrated and you want just like it was back in my laptop (and before you ask, Yes, I tried a system restore, but that does not work either).

    Thank you

  • Studio 1535 with Interwise Audio problems

    Hello

I'm not able to use AT & T, the message says interwise: there is Audio hardware problem. When I open audio Interwise stops completely, and even winamp plays all sounds. The noise resumes only if I restart the PC. I was faced with similar other audio problems as well, say when I open winamp and mediaplayer to the same instance, the audio stops completely sometimes. It takes up only if I restart the laptop. Is anyone else facing similar problems? anyone found the solution for this? Help, please

  • Equium A100 - 02L - blank scree with batteries

Please can someone help me with my dilemma?

I have problems with my laptop Satellite A100 - 02 L experiancing. When you use the battery power, the screen decides to go empty after a few minutes, and the only way I can get it to start working again is to put the system in standby mode by pressing the power button.

I changed the power settings for the mode 'sleep' but I am still suffering from the same problem.

    Can someone please help?

    Kind regards.

    Hello

In your case, you must change the settings of the screen using the battery mode.
There should be settings that disable the screen after a few minutes of non-use.

You must update the BIOS and should install the latest graphics driver.
Usually, this will help you get rid of these symptoms.

  • Equium A100 - 02L - backlighting will turn off by itself

Hi people, I have another strange problem on a Toshiba laptop and I hope someone can tell me where to find a solution.

The laptop turns on ok and post ok, screen is fully informed and nice n bright. Immediately after the POST the back light turns off, leaving me with an almost unreadable screen.

First thought was obviously backlight inverter, the light was turned off in the bios also screen. It has been replaced twice with the same question.
Next thought was the screen, also replaced with the same result.
The only thing I can think of now would be sensor hibernation or the motherboard itself. I do not see the sensor cover on this model and I don't want to think about whether the motherboard until everything else is excluded.

Any advice would be greatly received, thanks in advance.

    Hello

Have you tried an external monitor to your laptop computer? It would be interesting to know what is happening there. Maybe the same thing happens here or not.
    Check this box!

Normally I would also say that it s ups the FL, but you have already replaced it. By the way: you did it replace yourself and have you taken a Toshiba original spare part or another?

A friend also replaced me the FL inverter but with Toshiba no spare part. He worked only a few weeks

  • Equium A60-692 with XP - keyboard problem

Since my last post 19 Feb I spoke to many people about this problem but still no solution. Problem is...

When I turn on my laptop and it started the keyboard do not work and if I then reboot the laptop it will close and restart... every thing will work perfectly!

I used the recovery disk, but had to get loaded when the computer reboots, I could not it loads the first start, because there is no response from the keyboard.
Someone suggested that update the Bios that I've had a go at, but not very sure that I succeeded with that.

This problem has been ongoing for some time, and some have recommended that I just live with it.
I have the feeling that there is a software problem and could be repaired.

If it's a hardware problem, it can cost me more than the thing's worth.

Can someone help save my sanity and throw any light on the problem?
    PLEASE

    Hello

I think that it s a hardware problem (keyboard) and it s a good idea to test a new keyboard.
In this case, the ASP must install new keyboard and should check the functionality...

  • Noise Equium A100 - 02L (PSAAQE) on the login screen

    Hello

I installed the latest drivers Intel graphics (version 7.14.10.1283 for Mobile Intel(r) 945 Express Chipset Family) on the laptop. Everything works OK but when vista starts "interference such as noise" can be seen on the login screen. Once connected, everything seems fine.

I tried to install the old drivers from the toshiba site but these drivers will not be installed because an error occurred to halfway through the installation.

    Hello

Could you please describe in detail the noise on the login screen?
I hope that this problem is not related to the fault of the graphics card.

  • Equium A100 - 02L: Question about upgrade memory to 4 GB

    Hello.

The time has come to upgrade my laptop, but I don't know how to get the full 4 GB of RAM in it.

Toshibas page for this computer says I have 4 GB, but also that its two memory locations only consist with maximum 1024 MB card. Is the only feasible supplement by vista ready boost or something?

The vehicle currently has two 512 MB 667 mhz pc5300' cards inside.

Please help me... I am looking to order these items very soon and I don't want to buy something that does not work.

    Thanks in advance.

I found the info you can increase the RAM to 4 GB. You have to buy 2 X 2 GB RAM modules.
So now the question is what OS you use, because 32-bit Vista recognize 3 GB only.

In your case I contact an ASP and ask for a technician. They can order the right part for you and the Exchange if you n t want to do this.
Here in the forum are the only users and not technicians so that we can t tell you the part number.
