Equium L10-142 battery life

I had the above for a few months now and have understood the battery does not last very long at all.
I used to charge for a long time when I arrived at the comp, and I unloaded first uses. I also periodically run the battery and fully charged. It seems only to display the battery in about 2 hours to full charge, but in reality lasts just more than half of this time.
is this his agreement for the model?
is there something I can do to increase the battery life?

I don't use the mobile model very often but can do in the future if you need a solution to this problem.

any help would be appreciated

Hello

your battery life is certainly too short. If this was done from the beginning, I think that you have a defective battery and needs to be replaced.

A note: remove the battery, if you work on the current and it didn't need to be charged. This ensures that the battery no longer works.

Good bye

  • Equium L10-142 - battery won't load

I've had my Equium L10-142 for about four years now, and I know that it is long enough for a laptop. Last year I had problems with the battery that refuses to load at all and more in the past months, the cable ca now seems to be worse and worse.

Now my laptop only stay on for a few minutes at a time when it is connected, the "low battery" WARNING continues to appear and keeps yellow light "plugged in" turn off, signaling that in a few seconds the machine turns off. Sometimes stirring done cable the light back on and the computer continues to run for a little while, so I thought that maybe there was a problem with the connectors for the power cable.

To be honest I know very little about computers, but I need trying to get my phone working again and I don't want to have to pay someone a lot of money just to tell me that my computer is too old and that it is just packaging.

Any ideas if there is a solution? Is there something I can do? A spare battery or a spare cable would make the case or is there no hope?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

First of all, you should know that after a long period of use (charge/discharge) battery will discharge the own performance and only a battery replacement would help to operate the laptop with battery.

But it should be able to run Notepad by using the adapter usually it should be a problem!

The battery in my old notebook lasts for about 2 min even it s full of 7 years :D
I removed the battery and use the laptop as a desktop PC. He always says on my table, connected to a power adapter.

I think that your laptop must always run on the sector, even if the battery is dead.

  • Equium L10-300 - battery failure

    Hello

Can someone tell me if the battery isn't on the laptop Equium L10-300 it will not feed with the lead/charger pluged?

    Hello

First of al you will get a few suggestions here in the forum if you want to be 100% sure which part is defective or malfunctions, you must contact a technician for laptop and it could check the hardware.

Now my opinion; If the laptop lights even if the AC adapter is plugged in, then it has nothing to do with s battery but with the internal parts like for example electronic power supply on the motherboard.

If the battery is faulty, you should always be able to use the laptop connected to the power adapter. Right?

So I think that your problem is not related to the battery I m not sure what could be wrong, but first the adapter sector and RAM check if both parties would be ok then there must be another serious problem that I suggested above maybe motherboard is affected

    Hello Jan

As far as I know for this device there is no available different batteries. Live batteries are available only for some Portege (business class units) units.

As you know the life of the battery depends on the use. Maximum duration of use power management tool and set the CPU usage, method and other things at much lower level of cooling. On this way, you can save energy and use it a little longer.

  • Equium L10-142: no sound after system restore

Hi there I got a Toshiba Equium laptop since May / June ' 05 (the model on the bottom is EL10-142, so I guess that its a L10?) Never had a problem with it until it completely crashed at Christmas. A friend who is a computer enthusiast has got completely restored back to factory settings by using his Toshiba A60 Back Up Disk (the software provided with it is not found) and downloading the drivers from the Web from Toshiba site.

Now, he works very well except one thing. There is no sound.

I tried all suggestions from the Microsoft Assistant help regarding no sound, ensuring that the FN Esc key had not accidentally pressed, the Volume Module in the control panel was all upturned and not cut, ANY - but to no avail.

There are a few drivers who must always be installed (did not really a clue where to get them going on the site of Toshiba does not give me and his work and do everything I need OK so Im not bothered) so I though maybe that was the problem, but oddly when I went into the thing of drivers Diagnostics He said that the Realtek AC97 driver has been installed and working properly.

    Help!

I don't see what there is to do to fix this and it was definatley caused by thte system restore, as his was not a problem before the great crash.

Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    E.

Wait a minute; you said that your friend used the recovery CD Toshiba for the A60 Equium L10on!
I m not surprised that noise does not appear. You cannot use a form of another laptop recovery CD!

If you haven t the recovery CD right you need to order or you will install the operating system from the Microsoft Windows CD and then you download the drivers from the Toshiba driver page:

my laptop is supposed to have a battery about 3 hours time. I bought it a year ago, but now he can run for 30 minutes. should I go and complain where I bought it or conntact toshiba? dose - does anyone know where I can by a new? If someone had the same problem and knows what is best to do?
    I have a satellite L10-146.
    Thanks for the help!

    Hello

It is normal for the batteries decrease their performance after a while of use. But this is definitely not normal watering duration decreases of 3 hours 30 minutes in one year. So I think that if you still have warranty, you will get a new Toshiba service battery.

Anyway to get a new battery (free or not) you should contact Toshiba service partner.

  • Equium L10-142 - unable to connect to the Internet

Laptop does not connect to the internet. Have tried 3 ways:

    (i) WIFI - WIFI is clicked. Laptop also can't see other my neighbours networks (my network is OK because may fix another pc WIFI-where this post on the forum!).
(ii) by network cable - can sometimes become to attach to the wired network (although couldn't this morning) but it will bring up all of the Web pages.
(iii) external wired modem broadband provided by the ISP. This will not work either. It will recognize the modem, but doesn't bring to the top of the Web pages when I go into Internet Explorer.

Also cannot access Belkin Modem/Router to administer, even by simply putting in the IP address in the bar using everything above Internet address.
Laptop running Windows XP with SP2. Have not done everything I can think of to wear this. Laptop works very well to recover documents Word etc and make a backup.

    Help please! Thank you.

    Hello

Have you updated the WLAN and LAN driver on your laptop? Check the Toshiba site for an update:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

In addition, you should check the TCP/IP for LAN and WLAN settings. If your router supports DHCP, you must set this in the TCP/IP settings.

You should try to update the firmware of the router you can find on the site of the factory.
If you go to the menu of the router, you see if the router has an internet connection to the ISP?

  • I can't turn on the switch WLAN on ON Equium L10 - 142.

    Help, please.

After installing a new hard drive on my laptop girls (an old died), I can not turn the WLAN with the switch.

All drivers were installed and the Device Manager indicates that the card works properly.

The BIOS has WLAN set to enabled.

I think that it maybe a physical problem with the switch, is there a way to bypass the switch?

FN + F8 is not a function on this model.

What exactly do you mean you can t turn on?
Can you assign the WLAN switch on or it crashes to the off position?

In network connections, you can also disable WLAN. Maybe there is this option disabled.

  • Equium L10: Problem with the main battery and battery RTC

    Hello

I have the Toshiba Equium L10 and it is about 14 months old and I have problems with the battery and how much time it takes after a full charge. I also have problems with the RTC battery and an ERROR 0271: check date and time settings message when I turn on the laptop.

Regarding the battery, I can fully charge it upward in about 3 hours, but when I start to use it, apparently in the last few hours around one and a half or so and then it needs to be recharged. I can have down for about 40 minutes and then turn it off and come back later or in a day or two. How long should I expect from a fully charged battery?

About the batttery RTC, it really becomes a pain and I only started to get the message of the ERROR 0271 start-up, in recent weeks. I can charge the battery pack and then leave for a few days, but when I turn it on, I get the message ERROR 0271 on the date and time incorrect. Surely after a full charge, the RTC battery should last longer than a few days?

The manual says that if the RTC battery is exhausted or becomes weak, you must charge the battery of the CCF for 24 hours, in a different part of this manual indicates between 24 and 48 hours, but how can load you for long when the sections concerning the charging battery pack status after charging the battery you unplug the power adapter because leaving connected will shorten the life expectancy of the Battery Pack. So, how we can charge the battery of the CCF for 24 to 48 hours if we shouldn't leave the AC adapter plugged in once the battery is charged - which is nearly three hours. Suggestions about these problems would be appreciated.

Besides we all know that it is easy to change the CMOS/RTC battery in your desktop base unit, but is it easy to change in a Toshiba Equium L10?

    Concerning

    Brave0

    Hi Brave0,

The normal recommendation for the CMOS (RTC) battery is to leave the laptop connected to the power supply at least 12 hours when the main battery is fully charged. The charging circuit is going to hijack the current to the load automatically RTC battery and no current will be forwarded to your main battery.

Recommendation do not leave the power adapter is plugged in the main battery is fully charged is really only applicable to older laptops that used no batteries Li - ion and therefore they had to be completely discharged before recharging to avoid any effect 'memory' of the battery.

With modern Li-ion batteries, it is quite safe to leave the battery when fully charged and still power the laptop from the AC adapter. The charging circuit will pass all the battery charge if it is fully charged.

    Kind regards

  • Equium A200: Matter of life battery

I just bought this new Equium A200 computer laptop and the battery runs really fast - at least 1 hour. I have to keep constantly plugged in to keep his performance.

I have implemented energy saving battery, but y at - it an extra battery that I can buy to improve and do better? Or is there anything else I can do with the settings to make this race more effectively? I need to take a lot and right now that it would not last very long and defeas the object to have a laptop.

The battery life depends on the use of the laptop! So it's not easy to say how long the laptop needs to run on the battery.
However, if you want to run the laptop a little more time using the battery then, you could buy a stronger battery which delivers more power for a long time
You should take a look at the value of mA; more better

Also please don t forget that the Vista operating system needs more power as an early OS like XP.
Vista needs more power because it wastes more computing resources.
I read that a same notebook would run 2 times longer on battery with preinstalled W2K or XP.

  • Equium L10-273 kept switching between battery and power

    Hello

I saw a similar post here and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they have had this problem sorted? My Equium L10-273 kept switching between battery and power all others second, which made it impossible to type, it's got worse and worse. I thought it was a problem with the power supply, but when I removed the battery from the laptop is ok running of the adapter.

He kept also make a noise of hissing/crackling growing fan region, which stopped when I removed the AC adapter. The adapter was unusually hot, and the fan area became too hot to the touch. This stopped now, I removed the battery, so I want to know is what someone has solved this problem by replacing the battery or it should be returned?

This laptop is less than 2 years old, but apart from his one year warranty.

    Hello

According to the description of your problem, I think there is a problem of electronic power supply. Sorry but there is not a universal solution, and I recommend you contact the service authorized in your country. Explain the situation and see what they say.

  • Equium L20-264: Question on the actual battery life

Hi Forum: I know that I need PA3420U-1BRS battery as a replacement for my laptop. Can someone tell me what the real battery life is that I can't find any information on this.

    Thank you.

    Hello

It is not easy to say, and that it is not generally answer on this question.
The life expectancy of the batteries depends on the use of portable computers. The use of programs and applications heavy and high performance decreases battery life.

However, you can charge the battery about 500 times. After this period, the battery performance decreases.

  • New Satellite L850-142 - very short battery life!

    Hello world!

Yesterday I bought my new laptop and put it to charge right away all night without using it.
Today, when I am on, within 15-20 minutes, the battery life is down to 89%.

My question is, is this normal autonomy?

I already address energy conservation, brightness etc. so as not to lose the life of the battery.
It is my first laptop, so can someone please advise me?

    Thank you!

10% for 20 minutes, for me, is OK. I imagine that you will be able to use your laptop up to 2 hours of battery power. Of course, it depends on the parameters of energy and the way how do you use it.

Don t worry everything and not simply continue to test your new piece of hardware.
