  I'm trying to help fix a friends laptop which is a Toshiba Equium L20-197.

  The screen got damaged and is the only thing wrong with it.
  I searched for the LCD on the net and so far have not been very successful.

  To find new LCD Panel replacement is very easy. Use Google and put a few words like LCD L20 and you will find a lot of shops online to where you can order the new replacement screen.

  I have an Equium P200 1ir and my screen has been crazy, color errors everywhere.
  I followed the problem down to be a cut wire in the cable of the internal lcd screen.

  My question is: where can I buy a cable lcd screen replacement for this machine that the screen itself is fine.

  I have searched all over the web and have had no joy. If possible can someone Toshiba advise me to buy the lead...

  OK, I'm at my wits end with this one

  Equium L40 - 10 x screen went dark. Can know roughly if brandi for screen light. Works fine when connected to the external display.

  Replaced the power inverter - still black screen
  Replaced screen - screen still black
  Replaced the screen cable - still black screen

  Only other thing I can think is too that the replacement inverter was defective?

  I think, you should contact the Asp (SAV) and ask them about compatible lcd screen. Can say that the screen is one of the most expensive parts of the laptop as a motherboard.

  I think it would be a laptop display error because the image on the external monitor is fine.
  If the external monitor would be affected too then a graphics card could malfunction, but in your case, it shows more like a display problem.

  So in my view, the display needs to be replaced to get this problem resolved.

  I have an Equium l40 14l that I finally decided needs to be restored "out of the box" status.

  I can boot to the system recovery options page, but the widely mentioned drive HARD recovery option has been replaced by the option system restore of full Windows OS.
  When I choose it is telling me that is preinstalled files are damaged you can use the recovery dvd - rom product. All I can do is click OK and return to the previous screen.

  I ran a few software partitioning and the hidden partition appears. I don't have a disc of recovery with the machine as she had the hidden restore partition.

  I don't have a backup when I first booted the machine. I think now that it was a good idea, but as I thought I had the hidden partition to rely on I don't bother.

  Ideas if there is a way I can get the system recovery to display HARD drive recovery option?

  I had to realize a product uses recovery provided restore disk on an Equium L40 computer laptop (PLS41). The recovery procedure done his job to the end, reformats and copy all the files and then restarts. Now the problem starts...

  According to your message, I think that the HARD drive is faulty.
  I think there's a defective recording of MBR (MBR) of the drive and therefore the laptop refuses to boot.

  One question; have you tried to set the BIOS default settings? If this is not the case, try this.

  If it doesn t help and the laptop still does not start upward, then you should ask ASP for verification.
  I think it s a problem of HARD disk and, possibly, the HARD drive must be replaced!

  -Boot from CD/DVD drive
  -Follow the instructions on-screen ;)

  Just FYI; the installation of the recovery CD will erase the whole HARD drive. So eventually back up your data before using Recovery CD

  I upgraded my Equium L40 to Windows 7 and now, wireless equipment and F8 function switch switch the WLAN on and outside. It is permanently.

  Also, even if it is enabled in the Windows 7 power options, close the lid won't be thecomputer to sleep. If I close it turns off the screen but doen't make Windows 7 options.

  When I upgraded to Windows 7, I chose the option to do as a new installation and therefore lost my Vista installation.

  I have download all the drivers for Windows 7 on the Toshiba site, even if there were not many.

  Is there something else I need to do for the WLAN switch and cover works with Windows 7? Any help gratefully received.

• Cannot retrieve Equium L40-10 after changing the HARD drive

  Equium L40 - 10U Windows Vista 32 bit.

  I had a problem with the HDD (120 GB MK1237GSX) & I replaced it with MK2576GSX - 250 GB)

  I have a the original Toshiba product recovery disk, but I can not reinstall the s/w.

  Windows will load initially and then diskpart seems to be installed OK.

  The installation hangs at Image X for Windows
  I get error 23 c:\programfiles\adobe\reader 8 - data read failed.
  Image X could not apply to Vista F:\05468XSP.swm Index 2 to C:\.

  In addition, the administrator screen shows:
  Failed to initialize the Raid class.
  ANY RIAD continually normally
