  As the title says... If I connect to my laptop using a standard account the touchpad does not work if I try to tap to click.   All this trouble occurs only when I use the standard account. With the administrator account, I don't get any errors so I soar options, disable them, activate them and most importantly, the tap to click works.

  What is the problem with the standard account?

If you use the control panel to switch the buttons then the only thing that happens is the cursor move no click at all.  Also after a period of rental time computer warm up suddenly the cursor works, but even the left click will not work it will highlight the icon but not allow you to click on it. I wonder is the only solution to replace the motherboard as it seems to be a worse problem of heat.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  And before I forget, Yes, I replaced the drivers a couple of both clean install so

  Looks like you did everything I thought and much more. He makes it sound like a problem with the hardware at this stage and would require the replacement of the motherboard. Looks like that the southbridge is not working properly.

  I indeed checked by safe mode, but also the configuration of system (clean boot) that's causing the problem. He helped eliminate it as a problem with one of the Microsoft software. Also, it was not a physical fault with my laptop. What he helped me identify is the problem with the wireless mouse.
  All I had to do was unplug the wireless mouse and put the old fashioned a good with a cable attached to it and the computer was back to normal!

  Have you checked if you can boot into safe mode? You can try to start in safe mode if you go into the advanced boot menu by pressing F8 after you have switched on the laptop. Here you can choose.
