• Erase written and writing does nothing...?  Help please.

  This is my first post, so please guide me if I am doing this wrong.  I did a search on the forums and found a person who had this same problem, but they did not provide enough information for anyone to help them and there has never been a solution. So, I'll try to be as complete as possible.  I'm not computer savy once again, bear with me.

  I don't know exactly what you mean by 'clear digital writing every time that it runs in the sub vi'. I assume that you use the DAQmx API created a task to exit before the sub vi, write the Boolean value in the sub vi, then close the task when you are finished using the material (for example, cleaning). But I can't tell from your description, and I admit that the terminaology you are using is not clear to me. Have you the sample code?   What I notice here, aside from using sloppy cluster error, is that both references are open in the file - one for writing data and the other for recovery data. Is this a good practice? is it necessary or one reference supports the reading and writing? Is this a possible source of problems?

  You can do the same thing with a single file reference.

  The issue of not being able to see the data that was written after the reading of reference has been opened is known for having refnums to open in two different processes, but not in the same executable or VI.
