Erase written and writing does nothing...?  Help please.

This is my first post, so please guide me if I am doing this wrong.  I did a search on the forums and found a person who had this same problem, but they did not provide enough information for anyone to help them and there has never been a solution. So, I'll try to be as complete as possible.  I'm not computer savy once again, bear with me.

I have Windows 7 and Photoshop CS6 I bought today.  I was playing around with new brushes, that I downloaded today and all of a sudden they stopped working.  They would not write and then I had this idea that maybe they were erasers and not writables (not sure where that thought came, but she appeared in my head).  Although they do not erase, they wrote and not in my primary color.  Then when I went to show my husband... all of a sudden, they worked properly.  Then I went on my merry way to play with my new brushes and they broke again.  I'll try to include pictures here but I'm not very good at HTML.  It just seems easy to show you what's on my screen than to describe it.

The first image is so when I used my brush as Brush tool as you can see.  I had to zoom in so you can see how many pixels he actually wrote.  As you can see, the brush is much larger.  This is the second time, he did.  The first time, he wrote many more pixels, actually looked a bit cool with this kind faded ink to look at it.  In any case...

The second is what happened when I tried to erase my coloring.  As you can see, he choose the secondary color.  I don't quite know why he would choose this color of all colors.  As I said, I know nothing about computers and I am learning to Photoshop.  As far as I know, I accidentally hit a key causing all this mess myself.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You must have accidentally activated the size of the brush downwards so you could not 'write' number of pixels. You can increase the size to the top by pressing on '] ' and it decreases with "[]".

Or you can follow my screen turned down here to set the brush size dial.

As for the Eraser tool...

You work on the background layer. At the same time, you had the yellow background color. Take a look at the area that I circled in my image. My foreground color is black, which is my color of the brush. My background color is red, which is my color of the eraser. Usually, I have my background color set to white.     Today I just ordered a new battery and ac adapter for my laptop HP Pavilion G6. I replaced the battery while the laptop was still running with the old ac adatper in. Then I plugged the ac adapter. The battery won't charge so I ran a test to see what it was. He said to replace the battery and I thought it wasn't good because I just replaced a few mintues ago. I tried to look for solutions, and someone said to uninstall the battery adapter and then search for the hardware changes. It did not work. So I tried to restart my laptop and it would not load. Someone says then uninstall the adatper battery and power the laptop off. After that, I tried to turn on my laptop but nothing happened. I even hold it for 30 seconds to a minute and it does not turn on. However, the light that indicates he is in charge, and all white. No flashes.

    So, what's the problem here? I screwed up in my laptop by uninstalling this thing of ac adapter in Device Manager? I had to restart it after that, it stop? My warranty is already out, I've had this laptop for 1-2 years.

    It was the battery, which should have been uninstalled... Microsoft composite and compatible Microsoft ACPI control method battery. Then restart. Still should not have caused a problem remove the AC as a device adapter. It would be restarted. In other words, I don't think he's messed up.     I just got a new computer with Windows 7, and I had nothing else that problems with redirections constants, pop up windows, ads pasted on top of advertising.  It's really driving me crazy.  Any time I click on what (in Facebook, or my website, or Twitter or whatever it is!) I am redirected to a new tab with an advertisement trying to make me spend it, or download that.

    When I'm on Facebook, I brilliantly flashing ads covering my groups and pages.  When I opened my site, I have flashing ads to the bottom of the left and the right of my blog and all my pages.

    I tried everything I know to stop this, and nothing works.  I ran Malwarebytes, and they found pieces of adware 2029!  I quarantined and deleted and ran two additional scans that came clean, but ads and redirects are always there, drive me to madness.

    Then someone please help me, I can't use this computer as it is, it takes twice as much time to my work, and that rebounds, flashing ads are too distracting for me to even write in my blog.

    I'm on windows 8 (64-bit) and PE11.  Today, I lost all my work, even though I had saved regularly and I have to redo the rendering very often.  Tonight because I'm redoing my work day, I lose sync and keep clips integers disappear.  It seems to be becoming more and more unstable.  I don't really know if I'm doing something wrong or, possibly, Windows 8 and 11 elements first are not the best fit.  I noticed a few other post mentioning window 8 problems even if they seem to be different from mine.

    The head of it at my company wants to remove windows 8 and install windows 7 on my computer (especially because of a VPN issue), but I fear that I will lose all my work.

    Can anyone suggest a way, or a number to call and tell me how I can save my work, get rid of windows 8 and then re-import my work in a Windows 7?  I fear only 2 weeks of my work is going up in smoke.

    PS I posted earlier, I am also having more frequent crashes.

    1. I would advise to do a full backup of the system before your machine for installation of the OS. I use Macrium Reflect product. There is a paid version I have, but there is also a free version.
    2. Note the path to your project's resources and the .prel file.
    3. Make sure that all the assets of the project (pictures, videos, sounds) and the project .prel file are saved on another disc or flash drive. Disable PRE11 on your computer before handing over the installation of W7.
    4. After the installation of W7 copy these assets of the project and the .prel file in the same folder on the hard drive of machines (2) above.
    5. Install PRE11 and activate it.
    6. Open the project file.

After the release of Firefox for 23.0.1 I lost all my history and Firefox keeps only the websites visited once the new version has been installed. My favorites were selected. I tried to get back in "Import and backup", but it goes back only to the date of the new facility. I tried places.sqlite "Roaming", but there is only one with the current date. Is there a way to recover the lost history? Why Firefox was losing it? It's going to happen averytime that updates Firefox?

    Manually back up your bookmarks. If you have used the 'import', you have already lost some information by overwriting. As a matter of course you should always save current bookmarks manually before using any restorations.

    This way you can make sure you are able to restore the current set. Your backup .json file put a safe off-trail program or Firefox profile. The desktop of Windows or the removable media would be appropriate.

    Firefox creates a bookmark, but does nothing about backup history. Fortunately Windows probably backup previous versions of your files places.sqlite and this is the database with the history and bookmarks in it. See if you can recover a recent version of this, it will restore your story up to the date of the restored file.

    Then import your latest bookmarks from anywhere where they were rescued. Import replaces the slightly older bookmarks from the Windows file.

    You my wish also can install and run the addon places maintenance.

    That can be used to check and repair the places.sqlite database. It will give a brief report. Note If the places.sqlite runs out of space, he begins removing history.

    In the future you my wish to regularly create occasional backups of your profile or at least your places.sqlite
