eRecovery Management

Hello. I found a lot of articles on the problems with the eRecovery Management tool but still couldn't find an answer to my problem.

When I bought Acer Aspire REVO 3 4 years ago, I made sure to create the recovery DVD, because I knew that I was going to wipe the drives and install Windows XP instead (they came pre-loaded with VISTA). Now, these computers are outdated and should be sent to the resale. Well, I've erased readers, connected to an external DVD drive and booted from the first recovery disk.

When the eRecovery Management screen appears, I wonder "Select the Type of restoration".

-> Completely restore the system to the factory defects > Greyed out, can not select it
-> Operating system restore and retain user data > Greyed out, it can not select

-> Output > the only option that I can click on.

Why am I not able to click on 'Completely restore the system to factory settings', it's absurd. I spent hours searching on this forum on Google in general and it seems that a few people did experience, but no one can provide an answer solid as to what the problem is, with the EXCEPTION, that the recovery disks may be damaged or the hard disk needs to be formatted, or must be free of the partition.

I did an erasure of the hard drive, without any partition. No difference.

I formatted the hard drive. No difference.

To test the theory of corrupted recovery disks (even if the first disc starts very well), I used my main desktop computer and did the following:

  1. Creates an ISO image of the two (Recovery1.iso and Recovery2.iso) recovery disks.
  2. I used VirtualBox, created a new virtual Image, changed the settings to start from Recovery1.iso
  3. The virtual machine starts at the eRecovery Management screen, and all options are available.
  4. I was even able to "Completely restore system to Factory Defaults" on the virtual machine.

Then of course, the restoration of that DVD is not damaged. So, what's the problem with the Acer Aspire REVO can't select 'Completely restore system to Factory Defaults'?

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I disabled the AHCI in the BIOS, no difference.

I took the hard drive from the computer, inserted in a Dell Latitude laptop, started from the first recovery disk. I was then able to choose the first option, "completely restore system to Factory Defaults". Once the restore is complete, I put off the computer laptop, removed the drive and put it back in the REVO Aspire 3600. AHCI must be enabled in the BIOS. The initial setup routine, out-of-the-box Vista started fine and original applications and drivers have been installed.

Amazing to see that there is no material check that eRecovery, but it's a good thing, otherwise I couldn't start from a Dell laptop to do the restore. Fankly, person should spend that much trouble. Most of the people do not have the skills or know-how to understand all this. Unfortunately, those who are stuck with an Acer computer that cannot be recovered.

  • eRecovery Management does not complete

Hi all, I'm having a problem with my Acer Aspire 5610Z.  Here's where I started:

I got this second hand in a few months.  It worked well until recently, when it has started turning off within a few minutes of operation.

He's going to stay longer if I don't have to do anything (so useful!), but open any web browser, or even Windows Update stops.

It is not power, but to change to another cord (reliable and functional), makes no difference (the battery is turned on this laptop however).

I have run CCleaner, SpyBot S & D, MalwareBytes, Zemana and HitMan Pro - they found a thing or two, but there is nothing to prevent the issue.

I have updated all drivers using Driver 3 Booster.

I restored to an earlier date than the question, but that did not help either.

It is not hot, it is a few minutes of power.

The kicker - it will stay indefinitely in Mode safe, but as soon as I boot normally, it goes back to extinguish.

I have about 50% of free disk space.

Pressing F10 just starting gives me this, with no way to do something that I see:

Edit Windows boot options for: Microsoft Windows Vista
    Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
    Score: 2
    Hard drive: 298fa959
    [/ NOEXECUTE = OPTIN]

I don't have any OS disk for it, as I got it second hand, and the key is OEM.  I don't have anything on the computer I would mind lost, other than the OS itself.

Somebody advised I have try the eRecovery Management restore factory settings.  I tried and it stops and restarts, but I never notice that is supposed to appear in step 7 here:

To start your system restore follow these steps:

    1. Click on the Start menu, and then click all programs.
    2. In the list of programs, click the Acer file, and then click the Acer eRecovery Management .
    3. User account control Windows may request your permission to run this program, click Yes.
    4. In the Acer eRecovery Management window left click restore, and then click restore completely the system to the factory defects.
    5. On the Confirmation screen, select Yes , and then click Start
    6. Finally click OK to confirm the restore, then your computer will restart.
    7. Once the computer has been restarted, click Next if you accept the view on your screen.
Note: The notice is to inform you that all your data will be erased. If you have not saved your data click on Cancel.
    8. Then you get a confirmation screen. Click Next, and then click OK to start the recovery process.
    9. Recovery can take some time to complete. You will get a confirmation screen when it's over.
    10. Click OK to restart your computer.

My another fight is that he keeps cutting Middle process on things that cannot be done in safe mode - it took me a few weeks to get to this point.

Thanks for reading all this - any suggestions?

I have some other ideas for the moment, seems that your recovery is corrupted somehow.

  • I think that Acer eRecovery Management broke my PC

    Hi people,

Yesterday, I decided it was time to clean up my pc by performing a complete reinstallation.

I was checking the microsoft site that told me to contact Acer on reinstalling windows since

It came with the pc. So I used the Acer eRecovery Management tool to reinstall.

I chose the "restore Operating System to factory defaults" or something like that.

Everything worked well, progress achieved in 'done', followed by a reboot.

Then he said that some (well, 'prepare' - as) things in a really oldschool windows95-style which I don't know is correct.

It was like 8-bit stuff. Then came another reboot and I noticed that I heard the beep as usual.

No picture, no sound, nothing. (I tried two GPU entries). The light of the CPU also doesn't seem to be

    do things.

That's happened? I missed a great conference call via internet over there...

I really really don't know what to do.

    Kind regards

    Thomas

    (I'm on an Aspire X 3950 I think)

    OK, try this:

    Unplug the power cord

Open the PC case and get the battery CMOS, normally are a round button battery (CR2025) and is under the CPU.

remove the battery and wait for 5 minutes, press the power button two times, put the battery back, plug back power cord and try to start.

  • Cannot start eRecovery Management; Acer Aspire 5920G

    Hello

I have an Acer Aspire 5920 G under Windows Vista Home Premium 32 - bit SP2.

Recently, he refuses to start on Windows, so I would like to restore to factory... but as I pressed Alt + F10 during boot Acer screen, it went to the memory diagnostic tool Windows instead.

Can someone help me on this? Shortcut keys are different for this model?

Like Lawrence said. Try the full version of Vista and see what happens. You can even save your data. At some point, if it works, you will be required to register with Microsoft - should be a relatively painless process.

  • default restore (Aspire One) without eRecovery?

I'm trying to restore an Aspire One (Windows XP) to the default values. All I can find refers to the eRecovery Management program running, but it is not on my hard drive. Alt + F10 does nothing, so I started using a CD with sbminst.iso so I could actually watch the partitions, and there was no recovery partition. I tried to contact Acer, the netbook is out of warranty, so I can't get through to the Acer technical support.

    (1) is there a way to restore the system to factory default without the eRecovery program?

    (2) where I can get hold of the eRecovery Manangement program (the Acer store says there is no media for my netbook)?

    (3) how can I keep someone at Acer who can help you?

I appreciate all the advice on this. Thank you!

    Update:

I gave up trying to get the system restore. I have a copy of Windows XP. I thought that it could be used on a single computer, but then I discovered that the disc can be used to install Windows on any computer, but the serial number cannot be used on a single computer. The Acer netbook, I was trying to trouble had the windows serial No. affixed to the bottom (thanks to technology that initially installed Windows!) so I just did a new install and used the original serial number. So now it works very well (I tried to restore the system, because the computer was as slow as molasses). Tommy, thank you very much for offering help.

  • I could do a system backup/restore through the eRecovery without any additional software utility?

I have an Acer Aspire One 532 H Netbook. I could do a system backup/restore through the eRecovery without any extra utility of Windows 7 to Acer recovery? If I have such software, how can I get it? Because my netbook not came with any utility recovery/program when I bought it. Need to respond as soon as POSSIBLE, my netbook is dying with the longer startup time and more.

    Nice day

You must back up your data to an external HARD disk, etc. To reload your factory machine, click Start, all programs, acer erecovery management, restoration and completely restore the factory settings.
