Erratic ejects the Cd.

I had to reload Windows Vista again due to an accident. This time, after I put a CD in the drive, and I want to be able to eject it, the plateau starts to come out and then suddenly goes back. I have maybe eject the CD 2 or 3 times before it actually comes out.

Hello

See this thread, including the correction, the author found - his fix may have been a combination
other methods and that he had tried. There often is not a miracle solution.

I hope this helps. Rob - bicycle - Mark Twain said it is good.

  • drive hard MacBook is deleted and can't get out disk to install a new operating system is possible to eject the disc?

My hard drive died yesterday and I have installed a new. I put a disc with arch linux in the laptop but it does not load and the eject button does not work. Is there another way to eject the disc?

Hold down the mouse button while you start. The drive will attempt to eject.

  • eject the disc from the drive USB Super

Last night I unboxed my new USB Super drive and attached to my MacBookPro. I put in a DVD of registered film and was able to start playing. Then I ejected it by clicking on the disc icon on the desktop, because I was just testing how it connected etc...  Then, I wanted to see if he could save.

I inserted a blank DVD and he asked me to tell him what to save, but I didn't save. Instead, he presented another option, which was to IGNORE.

So I clicked on IGNORE. As a result, there was NO ICON ON THE DESKTOP for this drive. And the text to EJECT in menu bar is grey.

Now I am sitting here with a new USB Super with a blank CD disk stuck in it and am totally IGNORED, I asked, but what I didn't know when I asked to ignore me.

That's the problem. I disconnected, signed back in, and he has not yet cleared my instructions to ignore. So I can't eject the blank DVD disc.

Where should I go from here?

My MacBookPro is the retina, i7, 15 '' running ElCapitan, a model community 2015, I think.  I'm not on it now, but will open it to follow the suggestions for help. I'm a new converted to Apple, computing, coming from Windows, so I need the regular basic directions. Any help is appreciated.

  • iTunes application for import audio CDs, makes it impossible to eject the cd.

Whenever I insert an audio cd via the superdrive, itunes gets stuck in a loop of requesting to import the cd. This prevents me from being able to eject the cd.

Even after saying no or leave iTunes, it keeps re - ask the question over and over again.

I fixed it by declaring in the preferences that iTunes should not be opened automatically when you insert an audio CD.

You can also simply import the cd into iTunes, which also works.

However, I did want to report this problem.

My operating system is El Capitan 10.11.3

Boy, I had this feature disabled in my iTunes before it was even called iTunes, 15 years and more.

  • Ejecting the disc external hard Force required

    Hi-

I thought before that I had a solution to this problem, but obviously not.

Almost whenever I click on the icon next to my external hard drive backup disk, in the left pane of a window of Finder, place appears an alert...

The eject button Force works, so I have a workaround, but it seems unfair to have to use it.

Time Machine power down and restart my machine clears the problem for a while, but then it comes back after a few hours or a few days.

I tried to use 'lsof' Unix command in the Terminal, but haven't learned something from him.

    Any ideas?

    -Gil

FWIW, I tried to recreate your problem with a USB 3.0 external drive. Unfortunately, I had no problem ejecting the disc without turning off time Machine. It is perhaps a matter of Firewire, but I have no Firewire drive to test.

Something you might try is to reset the SMC or the NVRAM and see if that helps.

  • Portege R500 - remove 'Eject the PC' from the menu pinned using pyrite station

We run for Toshiba Portege R500 laptop in Windows XP Professional SP2 environment.
Toshiba tools are installed to allow UN/hot docking on laptops.
Portege R500 laptop computers come with the Slim Port Replicator docking station.

During the docking of the laptop, 2 "pinned" items appear in the start menu called 'Eject the PC' and ' Eject PC and sleep. "
We found that because of our custom build and Toshiba tools, there are a few conflicts.
Most of these conflicts have been resolved, except for one that was recently found.

When a user selects the option "Eject PC", it works as expected, however when the user plug their docking station back in, the port replicator is inactive (in other words, all the functions of the mouse, keyboard, cable LAN, etc. which are connected to the Port Replicator become unusable).
To remedy the situation, a restart of the computer is required to do and everything works then according to normal again.

To avoid users to do this, is there a way to remove the icons "Eject PC" & "Eject PC and Sleep" be pinned?
Of course the added items can be deleted under the user's profile, but when the laptop is returned, these added items return.

I tried to add a few registry keys to see if NoEject can be set to prevent this.

    Hello

    > To avoid users to do this, is there a way to remove the icons "Eject PC" & "Eject PC and Sleep" be pinned?
It is not known to me
I think that everything can be changed by using the right registry and value, but I have never tried this.

But my knowledge of the Toshiba * Mobile Extension * tool controls this function.
On the page of Toshiba Europe, you might find a more recent version: 3.87.00

I think you should update this tool.

But it was happening a lot before the crash.

    Hi Robin,

Most CD devices have a small hole somewhere on the frame before about 1 millimeter in diameter. Carefully push a needle (or an open safety pin) into this hole and it should trigger the eject mechanism.

    It requires a low pressure.

  • Reader SuperDrive plays movies, CDs, but ejects the DVD-R

I am trying to burn a DVD - a first in a long time.  My circa 2010 Mac Pro with Superdrive is eject the DVD-R discs, but fortunately plays DVD movies and CDs.  When you insert a DVD-R, the drive through 2 cycles of what seems to be the reading of the disc, then automatically opens the Superdrive drive door.  No idea what this problem is?

    Thank you.

Try a cleaning disc. different lasers are used for reading and writing CD and DVD, and so perhaps only a dirty laser lens.

Cold otherwise be hardware problem with the drive.

Have you tried a different brand of DVD?
