Error 8, making an executable version of my VI

Hello

I have a problem with the executable version of my VI. I compile the project in which the VI and I include all the screws, I need in there. The result is that only parts of the program of work. I did a backup version that works perfectly about 3-4 days ago, and the only differences between the two versions are some structures of the case, the events (in a structure of the event) and global variables added. The problem seems to be with the transmission of data via USB (personal advice) and an NI USB-6210 and I don't understand why, because I'm not changing the communication functions. The program starts correctly, but just does display all the data (the COM ports are found).

This morning, I tried to rebuild the application and an error popped up. Here are the details:

Error 8 has occurred to AB_EXE.lvclass:Build.vi-> AB_Build.lvclass:Build_from_Wizard.vi-> AB_UI_Frmwk_Build.lvclass:Build.vi-> AB_UI_FRAMEWORK.vi-> AB_Item_OnDoProperties.vi-> AB_Item_OnDoProperties.vi.ProxyCaller

Possible reasons:

LabVIEW: File permission error. You do not have the correct permissions for the file.
=========================
NOR-488: Error detected DMA hardware.

Does anyone have an idea of what should I do to make this work? Thank you.

Finally I found the problem and it had nothing to do with the main VI, a VI just lost in the copy that I made to the new version and got LabVIEW VI from the old place, so when I did an executable file does not use the path of the old version. This made some parts of the main VI cannot run. Thank you for your suggestions.

Mostly you have to maintain the driver and ensure that this update is available on every machine that could possibly need.

  • How can I determine the executable version number?

    Hello.

I have a VI and a specification to build for her.  In the Version of the specification to build information section, I updated the version number auto-increment.  I want to view the version number on an indicator on the front of the executable, but I have not found a property that provides this information. Does anyone know how to get the executable version number? I am aware that it is possible to right click on the .exe in the windows Explorer file, go to properties and get that way, but I want to display on the VI himself.

On a related topic, I noticed that only the 'construction site' of the version field gets auto-incrémenté. Request of the manufacturer decides when it is time to increment major, minor and set the fields?  Or it will never be auto-increment the construction field and I'm supposed to update other fields manually? (That would actually make sense, but I'd like confirmation).

    Thanks in advance,

    Alejandro

    (Windows 7 64-bit)

This can be long and winded, but I spent 5 hours trying to solve this problem.

It all started when I tried to uninstall a program, but I kept getting the message that wanted me vcredit.msi (or something like that) I downloaded a copy of it and pointed out the program of this file, but it has always found a problem and wouldn't uninstall. (Add/Remove programs won't uninstall it not more)

I also have trouble downloading updates Microsoft for Microsoft Visual C ++ 2005 Redistributable & at the same time in updates it shows Microsoft Visual C ++ 2008 Redistributable.

I tried to uninstall Microsoft Visual C ++ 2005 Redistributable via Add/Remove Programs, but it won't let me say it does not find some programs.

Original title: Microsoft Visual C ++ 2005 disorders (installing and uninstalling of programs)

    Hello Angelz,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

The error you get can be caused by components from Visual C++ Runtime libraries that are missing or get conflicted, perhaps due to a third party software or badly configured registry settings.

So, I would suggest trying the following steps and check if the problem persists:

    Method 1:

    a. click Start, right-click computerand then click Properties.

    b. in the name computer, domain, and workgroup settings , click change settings.

(If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.)

    c. click change settings , and then select the Advanced tab click the environment variables button.

    d. the user variables area, click on TEMPand then click change.

    e. in the Variable value box, type C:\Temp, and then click OK twice.

    f. click applyand then click OK.

    g. follow steps 4 to 6 for the variable of environment TMP as well.

    h. confirm this folder C:\Temp exist, otherwise create a.

    i. restart the computer.

    j. attempt to install the application again.

If the steps do not help, try the next method.

    Method 2:

If you are comfortable in changing some registry settings, then follow the steps provided below.

    1. Click Start and type run in start search box, and then press enter.
    2. Type regedit and click OK.

  • Close the registry editor.
  • Restart the computer.
  • Check if you are able to install the application.
  • If the method does not resolve the problem, continue to the next method.

    Method 3:

You can also reinstall Visual C++ Library Runtime components to solve the problem.

You can uninstall all existing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package and check if it helps.

  • Reference VI only open in the executable version error

Hello people! I'm having a strange problem because I've updated to Labview 2014: I a vi that uses "Open VI reference" to open the desired vi programmatically. It has worked flawlessly in the compiled version (.exe) of the program until yesterday, when I compiled again for the first time since my update by 2014 Labview. It compiles without problems, but when I start the exe and load the first vi it already gives me an error "Application built or Shared Library (DLL): Missing.

The fact is that all the screws that I want to open are inside a LAW degree which is supposed to be compiled within the .exe: infact is the path I use to open:

    D:\LabVIEW Data\builds\Sequenzer\Sequenzer2.0.exe\com_lv_sequenzer\trunk\Sequenzer_Functions.llb\Seq_Connect_to_Database.vi

And I get error number 7:

Reference VI opened in Seq_Function_Interface.vi-> Sequenzer_Main_2.0.vi
Path of the VI: D:\LabVIEW Data\builds\Sequenzer\Sequenzer2.0.exe\com_lv_sequenzer\trunk\Sequenzer_Functions.llb\Seq_Connect_to_Database.vi
Built Application or shared library (DLL): ensure that all loaded screws dynamically were correctly included in the specification for the application or a shared library build.
LabVIEW Real-time: screw built into executables are not accessible via VI Server calls. Use the Source Distributions dynamically call screws on real-time targets.

Vi Seq_Connect_to_Database.vi is included in my built (as you can see in the attached screenshot and it has always been).

Do you have any idea why it doesn't work anymore?

Thank you very much in advance!

  • LB, Toolkit evaluation 8.6 vi ca not use executable version?

I installed a professional version of Labview 8.6.1 laid off to my computer. In the Release Notes, I have been informed that a list of the many features will be installed, but in this list that some are allowed with my driver's license all the others are for the assessment. Here are my questions:

1 - Why Relased notes it not there no information which features will be no allowed in mode do? Maybe staff National Instruments can provide me with this type of list.

2 - while in mode do I have notticed I use all this work with Labview code but when I buld a executable I have mistakes like that of the attachment. Is a restriction for evaluation for use these kits in the executable building?

    3. why watching this error I have immediately a Labview crash, as previous attached file?

    Thank you

    Virginia

I don't know how the release could specify the notes whose options you did or did not purchase a license for.

Since you have not bought the report tool kit, you cannot build an exe that uses it. You can certainly evaluate the report in development mode tool, but there must be restrictions on the creation of an executable file that you can distribute to countless users. If you are happy with the Toolkit in development mode and need to exe, that you plan to build, you will have to buy it.

  • Error 1097 - only on executable appeal

    Hello

I have a vi that uses dll calls to interact with our instrument that works perfectly until I have build it as an application, where it give error 1097.

I went through the debugging and it fails on the first call to the dll, so I'm sure it's a problem with the way that I call the dll. But I tried including the dll required in every single place I can imagine the search, which includes; Article project dependencies, high level vi, path of Subvi exe path, file data, SysWOW64 & System32, inside the lvlib files that are used... basically anywhere where I could paste the DLLs.

I have another DLL made by the same company which I call in a different section of the code, and they run perfectly while being just included as usual to load in the application Builder (and stored in the data folder, as it seems normal)

I use the same machine for development and deployment.

I built all of the Subvi who calls the functions of the library with tools-> import-> Library (.dll) shared

It's the Subvi (void) [Init] which gives the error. I missed a toplevel VI image because it is a very standard call of this sub - VI

    I don't know what I can do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    I'm under Labview 2014 SP1 (32-bit) on a 64 OS Windows 7 bits (as a workaround for a problem of unrelated pilot)

    Thank you!

There are other DLLs in the library driver instruments. Most likely, they are indirectly used by the DLL, you go from call library node. They must be present in the same directory as your executable file. When you run the VI in the development environment LabVIEW adds project directory and perhaps the directory lvlib to the search path that Windows should search for the secondary DLLs into an executable file, but that does not apply.

  • Is there a way to read the RTE of an executable version without opening it?

    All,

I would like to find a method to determine what runtime is required to run an executable by programming.  I am working on an auto-updater program and read dozens of forum on the topic.  I found the Application property for version number node in the DevEnvr and the FileVersionInfo.VI to read the build version number, etc. in the TENS.  The updates in the same TEN coding is done and works very well.

The only thing that is missing from all the postings is a technique to determine the TEN necessary to open and run an executable file.  We're here?

I already have the code of work to install the new version of RTE, but I'm at the last (ignored earlier) step to determine what as necessary.  Right now I have it written in version generation property information description and analysis out.  I fear that this fragile work around could easily miss on the next update if someone isn't reading the documentation and include it.

I just found this Exchange of ideas which resembles an appropriate solution will nor R & D a few days ago.  But until that which is out, is there a more reliable way to determine this?

    Here's a recent thread about this:http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/LabVIEW-Version-of-Built-Executables/td-p/2162718

In short, we found a way to play the EXE file in a text file and searched for a specific model.

I don't know if the cause might be to make the .udl file. But I doubt that.

I can list a series of factors that can have an impact on this error, since I do not know the possible cause.

-The database .mdb extension, it's a 2013 Access database but I taped in .mdb

-When you create the .udl file, the selected provider is Microsoft JET 4.0 OLE DB Provider.

-In the block diagram after the function bundle, I used a Variant function, as I read its viable to use. I already tried without the variant of thought.

Your column names do not match - in the database, you underscore characters in the names of your column in your VI, you do not have.

You might also have a problem with your "Test number" field - depending on the size of the field, you have set up, he could not accept double digital floats:

Which corresponds to the error you see. If you use an integer, you should connect an integer type of the appropriate size (e.g., I16, I32/I64) to the insert command.

    Hi David,

I built an executable with the VI, and I could not reproduce the problem.  Have you searched and found the VI in the specified directory?  A couple of things to try:

-Use the LabVIEW 8.x file structure.  This lie in the advanced the Build menu.

-Try and build an executable with just that VI.  Who will tell us if it is a symptom or a cause.

Well, I moved the project to the desktop folder, it saved the naming convention to less than 255 thing of nature, because once I had error when building executable that the naming convention is limited to 255 due to the operating system, I don't know if it was the reason.

But now I built the executable and Setup and now it does not work well.
