  • Cannot import update - from - esxi4.1 - 4.1_update03.zip in the MUV 4.1.0 Update 3

I have ten ESXI 4.1 Update 1 and 2 guests I want to spend to ESXI 4.1 Update 3. I upgraded 4.1.0 my server vCenter Update 3 (Build 799345) and VUM to 4.1.0 Update 3 (4.1.0.13360). I downloaded the upgrade file update - from - esxi4.1 - 4.1_update03.zip , but when I try to import from import a release upgrade, I get the error message:

    File name: update - from - esxi4.1 - 4.1_update03.zip

    Impossible to import data

The downloaded update package is not a valid upgrade package

Is it because it's an Update file and not a upgrade file (for example the-from-ESXi4.0-to-4.1.0-0.0.260247-release.zip upgrade)? If this is the case, nobody knows which file I would use; I can't find an another ESXi 4.1 U1/2 upgrade to ESXi 4.1 U3.

There are two import options in the Update Manager. One for "Improvements" (e.g. version 4.0 to 4.1) and the other for "Updates" or patches. To import the patch bundle select 'Download of the Patch settings' in the 'Configuration' tab and click 'import of Patches.

I turned on my computer this morning and shortly received the message that updates did not.  When I clicked on the message, above what was evidence.  I tried to do some troubleshooting on mine, without success.  I had received an error message telling me that an unauthorized change was made to Windows (which I did) and that I receive no updates on my license or activation of last week.  I went through the process to validate the system.  I went for the weekend, and this is what I came back.

I come to you to ask for help.  I am running Windows Vista.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Error code: 80070426 - (cannot install updates)

I just got an error yesterday, on 9 November, that windows could not download automatic updates so I clicked on the Update icon in my system tray and tried to run the updates manually.  I got the Error 80070426 and with repeated tests there I cannot get updates.  According to the automatic updates, I have not received new updates since October 10.

I also checked my security settings and noticed that my Windows Defender has been exceeded.  If I try to update Windows Defender, I also have an error saying that it cannot be updated with the error code 0x80070426.

I looked at the code Error 80070426 on knowledge base and followed the steps here to try to fix.  Disk cleanup has no effect.  Whenever I try to validate my copy of windows, it says:

This copy of Windows has failed the genuine validation.

An unauthorized change was made to your Windows license or software installed on this computer is not currently compatible with Windows Vista.

I tried to run as administrator command prompt and get an error for this as well.  It is said: The Software Licensing service could not be started.  A system error has occurred.  2 system error has occurred.  The system cannot find the specified file.

This computer was originally shipped with XP, but earlier this year, I installed Vista with a copy bought in the store after I had problems with my operating system and could not run the XP restore disks sent to me by HP or those that I did after that I bought this computer.  When I first installed Vista the computer has a large.  However, after about 2 months, I started to have the blue screen of death, and my computer shuts off and restarts automatically when the blue screen comes up.  I was never able to locate files error on my computer so I do not see what is causing the blue screen and the screen is not upward on my computer... maybe it's here for a second before a restart of my computer.  I don't know what is causing my computer to act like that.  I ran all kinds of virus scans, ad-aware scans, keylogger scans, etc., and nothing ever comes I have a Trojan horse or any kind of virus.  Either something is seriously steeped in this machine that I was unable to find or my system some how became unstable at any given time.

You can give me any help would be greatly appreciated because at this point, except to buy a new computer or do a complete OS reinstall again once I'm all options or ideas.

    1. contact the Iolo Support [1] and ask how you can "undo" the changes by using the component "Registry cleaner" System Mechanic.

    2. after "undo" these changes, open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & run it in DEFAULT and modes difficulty then AGGRESSIVE. [2]

Hi if this statement of Kim

    Technical details:

Error 0 x 80070646 or 646 is a MSI installer error that won't happen when the updates are installed via the Windows Update control panel.  Workaround solution previous to solve the immediate problem requires the installation of the update to a standalone package starting from Microsoft Download Center.  We do not recommend this workaround solution.

If the Windows Installer logging is enabled, the following line must be identified as a symptom:

Error 1606. Could access the location %APPDATA%\ network

    Cause:

The problem is potentially a result of an incompatible, incorrect environment (%AppData%) as variable shown below:

    Solution:

    1. open the registry editor.  To do this, click Start, type regedit in the search box, and then click regedit.exe in the list programs. In the user account control dialog box, click on continue.

2 go to the following registryHKEY_USERS\ keys. DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

    3. the correct and should be the default value forAppData % USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming. To edit the value, double click on Appdata, then change the string in the value data field.

    4. close the registry editor, and then try Windows Update again. (A restart article be required).

    5. If the problem persists, repeat the steps 2 to 4 with the registry keys:

    ·        HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell dossiers\

    ·        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell dossiers\
