Error 80080008 while installing Windows updates.

Original title: suziwhy

I tried to upgrade to 8.1 windows, but he refused in the end.

Now, I get a 80080008 error whenever I try to install the updates.

Can anyone help? Please

Hi Suziwhy,

1 are you this error during upgrade to Windows 8.1 or during the installation of Windows updates?

2. What is the brand and model of the computer?

If you get this error when installing Windows updates, then it normally occurs because the file Wups2.dll included in the latest version of Windows Update is incorrectly installed or became non registered.

I suggest you to re - register the Wups2.dll file and check if this solves the problem.

Follow the steps to re - register the file by using the command prompt:

a. press the Windows key + X , and then select (admin) command prompt.

b. run the following commands and press ENTER after each one:

net stop wuauserv

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\wups2.dll

c. now, you will receive a verification message that the DLL is registered. Click OK.

d. start the automatic updates service. To do this, type the following command at the prompt (admin) command and press ENTER:

net start wuauserv

e. type Exit.

Try to run the system update (or CheckSUR) tool to see if it can resolve the error.
If it cannot, you can edit the CheckSUR.log located atCheckSUR.log Windows\Logs\CBS\

  • Error Code 8007000D install Windows updates

I'm running Windows 7 on a Lenovo X200S.  Windows Update worked until about a month or two ago and has since been giving me "unknown error code' 8007000D.  I ran the Mr. Fixit tool in aggressive mode and it did not help.  I downloaded and installed KB947821 (sytems update tool) manually and it still does not work.  Suggestions how to fix this would be appreciated.  Thank you.

8007000D - Error_invalid_data.  Corruption in the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution.  Please rename
    %windir%/SoftwareDistribution folder.

This is how you do it in Vista so I guess it's the same thing in Windows 7 (check that you restart however that the folder cannot be recreated properly without a reboot).

How to rename the software D folder in Vista - distribution agent version

    1. stop the Windows Update service (make sure that you are logged on as administrator)

Start button | Control Panel | System and Maintenance | Administration tools
    Double-click on Services
(Provide the administrator password or a confirmation if prompted to do so.)
Right-click the Windows Update service and click on stop.

    2. Click Start, type %windir%\System32 in the search box and press ENTER.

Find and rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution.

    3. start the Windows Update service

Start button | Control Panel | System and Maintenance | Administration tools
    Double-click on Services
(Provide the administrator password or a confirmation if prompted to do so.)
Right-click the Windows Update service and click Start.

This procedure will erase your history on the Windows Update Site. Not important.
You can always check what updates have been installed quite easily.

  • Error 646 when installing Windows updates

Whenever I try to install the following updates to the window, I get the error 646 answer:

    KB981715 KB980729 KB978382 KB978380

I use Vista and Internet Explorer

Sorry, you have problems getting your patches installed. I have a number of things for you to look at.  First of all, are your Windows Update and the Background Intelligent Transer Services set to Automaticand started . You can check these settings by typing services.msc in the search box of the start menu.

Sometimes in order to get patches to install correctly, you must perform these tasks manually.

    (1) Download Center to visit Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx.
    (2) search for each update code that begins with the letters "KB" and followed by a set of numbers (i.e. KB979309).
    3) click on the link for the download and then click on download and run.  You must accept the contract agreement, and then click continue.
    (4) repeat this process for each download of updates Windows could not install.
    (5) to rerun the update from Microsoft, click find updates.  If all goes well, it will show that you are completely patched.

If this does not work, try to run the Microsoft OneCare safety scanner.  Sometimes it will solve problems of hidden registry, or erase viruses can prevent the installation of patches: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm. Click full service scan, and then Quick scan (full scan takes a long time to complete). Try the patches.

    Hope this helps,

    Barbara

    original title: error number: 0x8024400A

I reformatted an old pc that has windows xp & tried to use windows update, but get the following message - error number: 0x8024400A. Can anyone help please? Have tried using general Fixit and restart the pc, but nothing works.

Have you recently reload Windows, restored back to factory settings or make other changes to your computer?

You must be at Service Pack 3 level before you can use Windows updates.

To determine which service pack is currently installed on your computer, follow these steps:

    1. Click Startand then click run.
    2. Copy and paste, or type the following command, and then click OK:
      winver

A dialog box displays the version of Windows and the service pack that is currently installed on your computer.

If you haven't already done so, you will need to install the SP2 and SP3 (SP1 note no longer exists).

    Mary,

This problem is sometimes associated with damaged files or registry keys, to solve the problem, you need to search for files that are damaged, perform a upgrade on the spot and then reinstall Windows 7 SP1. Here are the steps:

    Step 1: Run Chkdsk.exe

Click Start , and then click computer

Right-click on the system (usually C:\) drive, and then click Properties

Click on the Tools tab, then click on check now under error checking

Use the default settings, and then click Start

Click on schedule the disk check

Restart the computer and the drive will be checked to find errors

    Or

Run Chkdsk in command prompt with administrative rights.

CHKDSK x: /F /R  (this command will perform a complete analysis (including bad sectors) and an attempt to remedy)

Step 2: Perform a upgrade on the spot:

  • 57 a code error when you install Windows Update KB982312 (MS Office 2007)

KB982312 update continually moved.  This is an update for MS Office 2007.  It gives an error code of 57A.  Earlier, I asked if I should install MS Office updates that I don't have MS Office on my computer.  I was told here that I should install them.  I have MS Works installed well.  If I put the update in the hidden list?

    Hello

Here's what I recommend you do:

1 disable UAC. Down comes the restrictions - turn it off completely.
2 restart your computer for the change to take effect.
3 re - download the update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB982331) from the link below:

    4. install. It should work fine.
    5. If it still does not work, try to open all or part of your MS Office applications (such as MS Word, MS Excel, etc.).
    6. follow step 3.
