  This error started happening about 4 months ago.  I downloaded many games on Big Fish site and each of them has continued up to this point.  The specific error I get is "incorrect version of the file d3d8.dll, is missing or is damaged.  I understand that this file is inherent in DirectX 8, but I'm running Vista Ultimate with DirectX 10.  Not all games are affected, and has no rhyme or reason as to why.  Big fish customer help has no idea.  I hope that there is a patch, fix, or specific update of Vista that can solve this problem.

  recently, I tried to down load new adventure games using windows vista.
  I had no problems before with this. I have no problem downloading all other games, just the recent adventure games.
  Also, I try these games on an experimental basis of 1 hour. I looked for answers through big fish Games forums. no luck.

• Is there a difficult access, violation, 1401 codes & 766 errors? I get these after the purchase and download of 3 BIG FISH Games.

  The 3 games that I'm having a problem with now are, bridge to another world, Lord of the weather & House of A thousand doors-evil inside. I downloaded, installed and uninstalled them 3 times.   In the meantime, follow the steps mentioned below.
   
  Step 1:
   
  If you receive the DRM activator error message do the following to correct the problem.
   
  a. click on start
  b. right-click on computer
  c. click Properties
  d. Select system settings advanced
  e. under Performance click settings
  f. go to the Data Execution Prevention tab
  g. click on Turn ON DEP FOR ESSENTIAL WINDOWS PROGRAMS AND SETTINGS ONLY
  h. click on apply and then OK

• "[White] has stopped working" when using Big Fish Games

  I've had Big Fish Games on my computer for over a year now and it has always worked well, but recently, when I downloaded games and tried to open them via the games Manager, I get a message that says "[White] has stopped working".  There is no error code or the name of the program, just a space empty.  Windows is trying to find a solution then is to say that he manages.  The games does not open and I end up having to delete them.  I tried to re - download but it does not work. • Cannot delete games using the Panel configuration or Big Fish Games Manager

  It's probably because games are running in low resolution.  There are a few things you could do on your screen and specific games.
