Thank you
I understand, but I couldnot restoration l datafile by rman restore command coz base not at the stage of editing!
Appear you are not using the rman backup catalog and controlfile to help register rman backup.
in this case if you recreate the controlfile to way you will lose all your information backup of controlfile.
better restore controlfile from piece of backup or AutoSave. as restore controlfile from "

Very nice work Helios (as usual).
Thank you, I share just what I know thatsall
Thank you, I learned something new today.
The same for all users of the forum
Normally, I clone cold backups so I don't need to manually create the controlfile.
I see that your solution is contained in the following note;
"Cloning of Oracle Application 11i with rapid Clone /R12 - database (9i/10 g / 11 g) using on Open Database [ID 760772.1] hot backup.You are correct, we mainly use this method for hot backup-Section advance clonning
But I'm still curious to know if Nicolas is to create a clone of a hot backup or a backup to cold, and why he uses the 'ARCHIVELOG' option on his clone.
It depends, for me I prefer to choose option NOARCHIVELOG and NORESETLOG

HarryYou execute a CREATE CONTROLFILE statement.
All data files are listed.
The data files must reside in these places or the statement fails.
I don't see any problem. If the data files are in a different location, simply change the sql code.

Could not create the work file. Check the temp environment
After I did my Vista SP2 update, the only thing I could do was to reformat the HD. After all, including Office 2007 reloading, Outlook and work has worked well. Again, I went through the updates, Vista and Office SP 2 and now in Outlook and Word I get this error message Outlook (Word) could not create the work file. Check the temp environment
variable. I am alos having other problems in Word. Help, I can't find all the answers!
Follow the steps below at our own risk. Set a restore point before doing this. Make a mistake in the registry can have bad results
In your registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\User Shell Folders\Cache Database Cache data value must be %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
Close all programs. Then in the registry editor, once you get in the folder above, right click on "Cache", make a left-click on "Change", paste in "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files" (without the quotes), on the left, click 'Ok' close the editor of the register. Restart the PC.
This should solve your problem.
a. start-> Run-> enter "regedit" and press "Enter" to run the program to change registry variables.
b. navigate to the folder-> "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\User Shell Folders\Cache"
c. check the values of variables [for everything in the "User Shell Folders" folder] - all the variable should have values from '% USERPROFILE%\ '. ». Any variable that is not of this starting point is probably damaged. In my case, all variables corrupt has been a correspondent of "Backup_VariableName". Example: my variable "cache" was damaged when there is a variable called 'backup_cache' with the correct values
d. change the value of variables corrupt to correct the values. Example of change variable value "cache" in "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files" and so on.
e. close all of Ms Office programs, and turn. The problem should be solved now.
I added the text in square brackets [] above.

How can I specify location of the control file when the manual creation of DB?
DB version: 11.2.0.4
OS: Oracle Linux 6.6
The CREATE DATABASE command creates the control file.
CREATE DATABASE command is executed once you start the instance in NOMOUNT State as shown below.
SQL > startup nomount pfile=$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/initBRCPRD.ora
SQL > create database 'BRCPRD '.
MaxInstances 32
MAXLOGHISTORY 1
maxLogFiles 192
maxlogmembers 3
..
.
.
< snipped >
When you create the database manually, we can define the control_files parameter in the init.ora as below and control file will be created at this location. Right?
control_files = ("" / u01/oradata/BRCPRD/BRCPRD_control01.ctl","/u01/oradata/BRCPRD/BRCPRD_control02.ctl "")
When I was generating the DB using DBCA GUI creation scripts, it asks to enter the location of the Online redo logs and control files.
I entered my desired location. But, I couldn't find CONTROL_FILES parameter in the init.ora file generated the DBCA. This is why I got confused. I think that DBCA is internally somehow. So thought I'd post it here.
Hi John, OP
Just checked the init.ora file created by DBCA. Although the parameter CONTROL_FILES is undefined, db_create_file_dest = '+ DATA_DG1' was created. OMF default location is defined by the db_create_file_dest parameter.
So, I could safely use this script for the manual creation of DB, and during the CREATE DATABASE command execution, oracle will place CONTROL_FILES + DATA_DG1 using the format;
+DiskGroup/dbname/filetype/filetypetag.file.incarnation

This is the error message that you should focus:
> O/S-error: (27 OS) the drive cannot find the sector requested.
Run disk checker utilities, eventually the file system is damaged.

to DECLARE * ERROR at line 1: ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement
This works fine when I use the System user to create a schema and then run this script.
When I create another user with grant connect, resources, create view permissions I get this error:
DECLARE

ERROR on line 1:
ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement
ORA-06512: at...
DECLARE
ID MY_TABLE.ID%TYPE;
tNom my_table. % TABLENAME TYPE;

CURSOR c1 IS
SELECT distinct evt.id, evt. TABLENAME, vid.propertyname
FROM my_table evt, vid MY_TABLE_TWO
WHERE the evt. COL_1 = 1
AND evt. COL_2 = vid. COL_2
and not exists (select facts FROM MY_TABLE_THREE 1)
where evt.id = facts.eventid and facts.displayname = vid.propertyname);

RUN IMMEDIATELY 'ALTER TABLE ' | tNom | 'Add ' | PName | ' _ NVARCHAR2 (255);
END LOOP;
CLOSE c1;
END;Hello
Maybe missing a privilege. If I were you, I'll try this first:
DECLARE id MY_TABLE.ID%TYPE; tname MY_TABLE.TABLENAME%TYPE; pname MY_TABLE_TWO.PROPERTYNAME%TYPE; CURSOR c1 IS SELECT DISTINCT evt.id, evt.TABLENAME, vid.propertyname FROM MY_TABLE evt, MY_TABLE_TWO vid WHERE evt.COL_1 = 1 AND evt.COL_2 = vid.COL_2 AND NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM MY_TABLE_THREE facts WHERE evt.id = facts.eventid AND facts.displayname = vid.propertyname); BEGIN OPEN c1; LOOP FETCH c1 INTO id, tname, pname; EXIT WHEN c1%NOTFOUND; INSERT INTO MY_TABLE_THREE (ID, COLUMNLENGTH) VALUES (S_ANALYTICS_SEQUENCE.NEXTVAL, 255); DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line('ALTER TABLE ' || tname || ' add ' || pname || '_ NVARCHAR2(255)'); --EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'ALTER TABLE ' || tname || ' add ' || pname || '_ NVARCHAR2(255)'; END LOOP; CLOSE c1; EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS THEN DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line(SQLERRM); END; /
Using this approach, you can see the sentences to run without run, I also added an exception block.
Kind regards
