  I tried several times to download and install the automatic updates of Microsoft Office 2007, however, they have failed repeatedly to install.  When this happens, I get error Code 646  Microsoft Office Publisher 2003, which is no longer on my computer, is offered several times for me.  I would appreciate your comments on this issue. • Update error Code 646 when stopping and the installation of the Vista updates

  I had problems with these updates... When I hit the closing down and install updates my computer installs the update but will have problems starting windows when I try to start my laptop. If I try to do it through the control panel error code 646 comes up... im on Windows Vista Home Premium, updates are as follows:

  Here are my recommended steps to resolve this problem:

  1 disable UAC. Down comes the restrictions - turn it off completely.
  2 restart your computer for the change to take effect.
  3 re - download the update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB982331) from the link below:

  http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=7f89a734-cda4-4abb-9a10-f6dfe560e8d0&displaylang=en
  4. install. It should work fine.
  5. If it still does not work, try to open all or part of your MS Office applications.
  6. follow step 3.

• Error code 646 on MS Office 2007 updates only

  Have accumulated 5 updates which will not be installed.  Getting an error code 646 when I try.  The updates are:

  KB978382

  KB976321

  KB978380

  KB980729

  KB981715

  All are updated Office.  OS (Windows 7) updates install correctly.  Spin a legitimate licensed for home/student copy purchased 2007 online.

  Driver/Accessories component updates also will work perfectly.  Any ideas?
