Felix,

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/555375

It helps those answering questions if you provide:

What version of windows (32-bit or 64-bit) and service pack level.

you use what browser (exact version).

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?

What third-party firewall

What anti-malware software can be installed.

What updates you trying to install?

0 x 80070424 ERROR_SERVICE_DOES_NOT_EXIST BITS service is removed.

80070424 means generally that the BITS service (required by Windows Update) is not running.

Error message when you use Microsoft Update or Windows Update Web sites to install updates: 0 x 80070424http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968002/

If no joy, click the round to start, in the search in field type

cmd

Right-click on cmd.exe and select ' run as to administer. Follow the prompts to allow the command prompt to run.

At the prompt, type it below, and press ENTER after * each * command

regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll

output

Restart the system and see if it can be updated now.

No joy... then

I recommend to download and install MalwareBytes' anti-malware (MBAM) and SUPERAntiSpyware (SAS).

Do a full scan with MalwareBytes' and SUPERAntiSpyware.

http://www.Malwarebytes.org/MBAM.php

After that the software (MBAM) is updated, it is advisable to analysis of the system in normal Mode.

Reset

http://www.SUPERAntiSpyware.com/

After that (SAS) software is updated, it is advisable to analysis of the Mode system safe.

Reset

The two free versions of MBAM and SAS are at the request of the scanners and offer no protection "real time". Keep to install them and use them as "second opinion" scan.

Follow the advice of microsoft at the link below

This problem occurs when Windows Setup encounters an error. Error code 0 x 80070646 and error code 646 are generated by Windows Installer. These generic errors indicate that Windows Installer has encountered a problem. When you encounter errors that are described in the section "Symptoms", the problem may be caused by an incorrect value in the registry.

Sorry, you have problems getting your patches installed. I have a number of things for you to look at.  First of all, yourBackground Intelligent Transfer Services set toAutomaticand started and Windows Update ? They both should be started. You can check these settings by typing services.msc in the search box of the start menu.

Sometimes in order to get patches to install correctly, you must perform these tasks manually. Click each of the links below and click on download and run.  You must accept the agreement and then click on continue.

    KB981725

If this does not work, try to run the Microsoft OneCare safety scanner.  Sometimes it will solve problems of hidden registry, or can clear the virus that can prevent the installation of the patches: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm. Click full service scan, and thenQuick scan (full scan takes a long time to complete). Try the patches.

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

You can use an application that scans your system for the log files and temporary files and use it to get rid of those who:

I tried to solve this problem, almost every day since the 01/08/2012 a period of 3 to 7 hrs @ a time, following troubleshooting instructions everything including the fix It Center without success. I even tried to do it manually.  I need a disk to achieve? Please give me detailed instructions thoroughly. Is this a common problem with Windows Vista.

    What are error codes: 800F081F & dt000

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer recently?

2 is the issue specific to this update?

    3. are you able to install other updates successfully?

    4. What is the brand and model of the computer?

5 all the troubleshooting steps you have done?

Try these steps and let me know the status.

    Method 1.

I suggest you follow the steps in this article.

Problems with the installation of the updates: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-problems-with-installing-updates

    Method 2.

Clean boot : Try to set up your computer in a clean boot state and check if you are able to install the update. Tuning your system to start in mode minimum state helps to identify third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Disable Firewall: turn enable or disable Windows Firewall: http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    Note:

Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must activate it as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 3.

Learn how to install Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Learn-how-to-install-Windows-Vista-Service-Pack-1-SP1

    Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate. The virus scanner is provided so that the computer is virus-free before you start to install the updates.

    Method 4.

The system update tool scans inconsistencies in the computer where it is installed. It usually takes less than 15 minutes to run the scan. However, the tool might take much longer on some computers. Although the progress bar seems to stop, the analysis is still running and you should not cancel the update.

The system tool that corrects problems with Windows Update is available for Windows 7, Windows Vista: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
