• Error code 80072EFD unable to update since June

  I'm trying to help a friend with their computer.  He has not been able to download updates windows since June, get error code 80072EFD. Can anyone help please?  Thank you.

  Strongly suggest that you download and Save Malwarebytes Anti-malware

  Once the download completes browsers and close all programs open.
  Delete the Temporary Internet files cache in the Control Panel >Internet Options
  (In Vista , click Delete under browsing history

  Install MBAM now and allow to update its definitions during the installation.
  Once MBAM is installed, run a quick scan by clicking the Scan button.
  Once the scan is completed, click on the button to display the results.
  Make sure that all detected is checked and then click the selected button remove.

  IF any what has been detected please post the MBAM log scan.

  I have problems with fixing error code: code 80073712 in my windows update program... I tried to do the checksur.exe... and after having told me he found 10 errors...   You are missing a lot of critical security updates (especially if the updates published on 10 Nov 09 never installed).

  You don't want to switch to Win7 with the computer in its current state (nor would you be able to do, I think).

  Vista SP1 or SP2 installed?

  What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

  A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on this machine (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

  To get updates Office installed when you receive the error 646, usually download and install them manually will work.  Look at your history of update and get the KB # updates failed.  Then, go to the Microsoft Download Center, search the KB # and then you download the file to your PC.  Then, simply double-click the file to run it.
