ERROR - comments operations agent could not be contacted

Hello

We have a workflow that cloned clones of a paralytic, and after that VMware Tools begins in one of the virtual machines, we run a command script by using the workflow "to run the program in the comments.  We run this process of cloning several times without problem, but 1 on each ends of 5-10 with the error "failed to contact the agent of operations of comments.  Anyone know what can cause this problem or how we can implement workaround for it?

Thank you
Dan

I'm not terribly sure of what could be the cause... Intermittent errors like that are always a big challenge to resolved. I can however make a suggestion on workaround. I would suggest adding to execute the program in the comments of your overall workflow of exception management... Drag a task containing a script or a logging element and drop it onto you existing call to the program in the comments of your workflow. This will create a new path with a red line (way of exception). On the program running in the comments element, you must now bind the exception to an attribute - the default name for this is "errorCode" - go come and create this attribute and use it for binding. Then pass this error code in your new logging or task scriptable element to provide feedback/indication that there was a problem and you are re - try. Add a sleep or wait that the time element (requires a wait time setting) in order to add a little break in the workflow. Then, remove the end of this exception path element and connect the last point back to the run the program in the comments of the workflow... so the flow should be something in the sense of:

  1. Regardless of prior treatment do you
  2. Clone/customize VM
  3. Run the program in the comments
    1. If exception, wait 30 seconds (or whatever the weather) and try again
    2. Eventually, a maximum number of attempts and implement a counter to track these - if max is filled, then lift the exception and/or e-mail notification
  4. End of the workflow

  • Need help with Copy-VMGuestFile: comments operations agent could not be contacted

    Hello world

    I am trying to copy and read files on a virtual machine.

    My virtual computer that is running windows server 2008 R2, VMware ESXi 5.0

    I tried the following, but it didn't work:

    Copy-VMGuestFile-Source c:\text.txt-Destination c:\ - VM VM - GuestToLocal - HostUser root collar - HostPassword

    Result:

    WARNING: The operating system prompted for the virtual machine «...» "is unknkow. The operation may fail.

    CategoryInfo: NotSpecified: [Copy-VMGuestFile], ViError

    FullQualifiedErrorID: Client20_VmGuestServiceImpl_GetGuestAuthentication_ViError, VMware.VimAutomation.ViCore.Cmdlets.Commands.CopyVMGuestFile

    My VM is a clean install. I have tried to look for the error, but can find no possible solution.

    Most of them is related to Invoke VMScript or the VMware tool (something that I have not installed on the virtual machine).

    Can someone help me please?

    Or can you suggest me a way to read and copy files to a virtual machine?

    Thank you in advance.

    The Copy-VMGuestFile cmdlet uses the VMware tools in the virtual machine to copy the file. If you need to install the VMware tools in the virtual machine before you can use the Copy-VMGuestFile cmdlet.

  • "The comments operations officer could not be contacted" during an attempt to access comments just after management

    I have to install some software after the provisioning of my virtual machines.

    Just after the provisioning once the virtual machine is running, I run the workflow 'copy the file of the vco to prompt' to copy my scripts file that works perfectly, I then run the "run a program on workflow comments" which fails with the error 'comments operations agent could not be contacted.

    I know that I get this error when there is no session open on the virtual machine (I don't want to manually open a session).

    So do no open session that triggers this error or I do something wrong?

    Is it possible to log on to the comments via vCO?

    Thanks in advance

    PS: VMware tools are installed and running

    It's a Windows running, but I found my error, I asked an interactive session in my workflow... who cannot work because there is no session to interact with.

    Just put my interactive boolean false, and it works like a charm!

    Hope this can help someone.

  • AddNode cmd failed for the secondary node: internal error of AAM - agent could not start. : unknown error HA

    I'm testing paths to upgrade to vSphere ESX 3.5 update 4 on an IBM BladeCenter with 2 hs21 xm Server blades; I am going through several problems, and the last is the one mentioned in the subject of this thread.

    In this scenario, I've upgraded successfully vCenter then I took all the virtual machines on a single host esx 3.5, I removed the other host in the cluster, and then vcenter, then I did a new install of vSphere, I reconnected it the host to the cluster then I did all the procedure with the second node. In the end, I have two installed vSphere hosts but I had to disable my cluster HA always been, I get this error when I try to configure HA agents on the hosts, but I must say that the DRS ok works.

    In the release notes for vSphere, in the section known issues, I can read:

    "Upgrade of an ESX/ESXi 3.x host an ESX/ESXi 4.0 host results in a successful upgrade, but VMware HA reconfiguration may fail.

    When using vCenter Update Manager 4.0 to upgrade an ESX/ESXi 3.x ESX/ESXi 4.0 host, if the host part of an AP or DRS cluster, the update succeeds and the host is reconnected to vCenter Server, but HA reconfiguration may fail. The following error message in the summary of the host tab: HA agent has an error: cmd addnode failed for the main node: internal error of AAM - agent could not be started. : HA unknown error.

    Solution: manually reconfigure HA by right-clicking on the host and select Reconfigure for VMware HA. »

    The problem is that of workaround does not work for me, so I was wondering if someone, is once again able to help me with this problem.

    Thanks in advance for your support.

    Hi Caddo,

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes before the show?
    2. is the laptop connected to a domain or have you tried to connect to a domain?
    3. you have to any other user account on the laptop?

    If you have any other user account on the laptop, try logging in there and see if the problem still occurs. If you are able to connect, sever the computer from the domain. Try the following steps to separate the field.
    1. right click on computer from the start menu, click Properties, click Advanced system settings, the computer name, change, select workgroup and workgroup name type.  Click Ok. You will need the necessary permissions to perform this task.

    If the computer is not connected to a domain and you have not made any changes recently. Try to restore the system using Vista DVD.
    To run the restore of the system using Vista DVD, try the following steps.
    1. start in Vista installation DVD.
    2. choose your language settings, and click Next.
    3. click on repair your computer.
    4. choose your operating system and click Next. This should bring up the System Recovery Options.
    5. click on system restore.
    6. follow the instructions in the wizard to complete the task.
    7. once the system restore is complete, start the computer as usual and try to connect.

  • Vista the specified domain does not exist or could not be contacted

    Hello

    I recently had problems with viruses etc on my computer and because of its extremely slow performance I want to re install windows vista to make it to its factory settings.  I use a laptop HP 530 which has a HP Backup and Recovery utility, which is able to reinstall windows by using the backup that is held on a separate partition.  My computer is not outside of a work group and I'm the only user on the computer with full administrator privileges.  I know also that the password of my account and mine is the only account set up on the system.
    However, when you attempt to reinstall Vista, when the computer restarts at the beginning I wonder put a username and password.  I tried to leave this blank, enter the username and password for my account and nothing else I can think of.  Annoyingly. I get the error message "the specified domain does not exist or could not be contacted" every time and so I am unable to reinstall windows because I can't get past.  I reinstalled windows in the past and never encountered this problem.  As far as I know that I did not recently, major changes on the system other than the elimination of viruses etc.
    If someone could help me with this, I would greatly appreciate!

    (1) what is the user id you are using OEM fior?

    The user id should have Sysdba and should not be in the role SYSASM.

    (2) in order to check your port

    In server, in the gate of the House, listener, lsnrctl status--> Verify asm instance listed on your listening port.

    Summary of endpoints listening...

    (Check that the PORT and IP information is correct)

    Instance '+ ASM1' READY State, has 1 operation for this service...

    (3) in addition, connect to asm and check the connection

    Show u local_listener and entered into OEM parameter details are correct.

    (4) OEM, I think you add Cluster_ASM.

    Oracle_home_path--> you're grid House

    username--> with sysdbarole

    --> Sysdba role

    Cluster_name--> $GRID_HOME/bin/cemutlo - n

    Service name--> + ASM

    ADD

    NAME: INSTANCENAME

    -Home: HOST1

    listener_HOST-->< show="" parameter="" local_listener=""> exit

    PORT-->

    SID- + ASM1

    Hello

    1. what application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?

    2 Norton (another) or a McAfee application ever installed on this machine?

    3. What are the fix applications that you used so far to try to fix this problem?

    Try the next method and check if that helps you with the question of the 127 error you receive.

    Method 1: Rdding the DLL file by doing the following:

    1. Click Start and click Run, in the search box type CMD and press to enter.
    2. right click on CMD in the list and click "Run as Administrator".
    3. type the following command and press ENTER. Regsvr32 msvcp71.dll
    4. close the command prompt window.

    Method 2: run the file system (CFS) Checker:

    (Note: you need an XP installation disk to start the System File Checker search.)

    The SFC command is used to detect and resolve problems with the files on Windows XP and Windows Vista computers. This command allows you to launch the Windows File Protection Service and allows you to analyze all integrity-protected Windows files and replace all problematic files identified.

    1. click on start, and in the box to start, search type CMD
    2. right click on CMD in the list and click "Run as Administrator"
    3. type the following command and press ENTER. Sfc/scannow
    4. close the command prompt window.

    For more information on scan SFC (System File Checker), please look in the link mentioned below.
