  • 'Error compiling movie/Unknown Error' when exported.  Great list of ' things I've already tried ' s

Alright, move to the bottom line here, I spent the last hours 3 juggling with clips and sequences of trying to get my VERY average project to encode and export.  I get the dreaded "error compiling Movie.  Unknown error message.  But there are a few details as to where it is tripping when exporting; more on that later.

Technical details: iMac, 32 GB of ram, Nvidia 780 M 4 GB, SSD from all around.

First of all, a list of "Things I've tried."  Which many were inspired by multiple threads, I've already read:

-Make sure there is not still images exceeding the size of my project (1080 p) settings.  Initially, there was one, it has since then been swapped for a completely different image/picture.  Still unresolved.

-Make sure there is no offset image drop-down conflicts happening between clips and my settings.

-All images is 1080 p, so there is no scale happening (not with any of the effects either).

-Switching to export "in/out sequence" export "entire sequence."

-Created a new sequence, dropped the sequence published in project parameters matched, tried to export from there.  Same question.

-A tried to make CBR instead of the variable.

-Tried to use all the rendering engines (software only, CUDA, OpenCL, etc..)

-At least a few other things too, but it's so darn late now for this reason, and so I'm so tired that I can't remembering everything.  I'll gladly take any suggestions and report back.

Now, I mentioned we're listening at a specific point.  I often read that he goes somewhere around 70% through and is approximately the same in my case.  He arrives at a specific clip/couple of clips and blocks in almost the exact same task.  I messed with these clips too many times to count.  Initially it has been remapped both with keyframes, so I changed it to a constant speed without keyframes. nothing.  Had a directional blur on one of the clips, so I completely; and no change.  I think I tried other things with that particular section of the timeline, but as I said, I'm falling asleep here.

Please. Help.  I'm very, very, very close to deserting a ship to FCPX total after so many bugs and crashes (it is not the only issue that hinder the project, as many of you know).  Currently, I am a user of dual-app, different applications for projects depending on how how "inside" I need to get, or if I work with different people on different systems.  But I need something that is RELIABLE.  This is supposed to be a professional software and probably priority #1 for professionals is reliability.  At least in FCP almost everything runs very smooth, and I did not yet have a "can't f * ing finish a project" problem with her.

I'm sorry, please excuse my behavior; I'm frustrated.

    We have progress!

So, I've discovered some interesting things (maybe not interesting for anyone who has had or has solved this problem before, but new to me).  It is a long summary of what happened, but I want to explain how I came to the conclusion I did:

First of all, I took advice from Colin and created a new sequence with the troublesome section, removed all the audio clips.  I thought I could try so suggestion of Ann at the same time, so I deleted FilmConvert not only the effects but ALL the effects of the clip.  The settings include: Filmconvert, directional blur (which a clip has the sum of retouching), speed of adjustment (without keyframes), then an adjustment layer with a very small amount of sharpening applied to it.  I did not remove anything from the adjustment layer.  I then exported with only "Export video" checked.  It worked.

So, I really wanted to try to pin-point, in hopes of helping someone else in the future.  It's when things are interesting.  So I went back and started around, keeping the audio off the coast and little by little the effects removed.  He went down to the directional blur, which I completely spaced the same mention, because I forgot a little on this subject in the middle of all this (sorry about, 100% my fault not to mention blur; some of you could see as the issue immediately, had I mentioned).  With everything, but directional blur applied, it has exported.  I even put the audio tracks to, re-checked Export Audio, and everything worked well.  So the blur effect seems to be the question... or so it seems.  Another interesting thing that's happened is that for one of the first attempts to export without audio, I left the blur effect but take off FilmConvert.  It worked as well.  Finally, my last attempt was to export everything, audio and video and all the effects, however, this time I noticed that on the second clip in the sequence I had accidentally put the blur directional above FilmConvert in the effects Panel (the other clips there like the last effect applied).  So I moved it back to the bottom of the chain of effects.  Of course, it worked.

Finally, and above all, I tried full export with effects in their place.  SOUL crashed, twice.  Frustrating, but unfortunately enough widespread lately.  However, the project is export straight out of first, first try.  Feeling very relieved.

I guess my question now is... Why?  Is - this common with all the effects in the first of blur?  To summarize what the section of the clips looked like, it's just a quick moment of time being accelerated x 5, with a slight blur to simulate an exaggerated movement too vague.  Yes, I do usually this kind of effects in After Effects, with more control and better results, but the project is a quick and informal editing, so I don't bother at first.  A big thank you to all who contributed to the discussion, if your suggestion has directly touched the issue or not, it's the community to commit that really matters.  I hope that son like this can get small bugs like these resolved or help someone in a similar situation to learn how works the effect controls panel.  Nevertheless, there is useful information on this topic, for sure.  Thanks again to all who have helped me learn along the way.

As the title, I have problems with Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 and - "Adobe Media Encoder: error compiling Movie - unknown error" appears each time I try to export my video. Both are trial versions, but my Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 had ended and my Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 have left about 1 week of trial. Hi Charles,

Have you tried to export with Premiere Pro?

Go to the file Menu in Premiere Pro > project settings > general and change 'Mercury playback engine' (if it allows) to 'Only software Mode' and then try to export from Premiere Pro.

Mention also, what operating system are you using, hard RAM (Exxternal or internal), or several installed graphics cards and formats of files used in the project.

Have you tried to make the scenario first before export?

If possible send a screenshot of the full timeline.

  • Cannot restore: error compiling Movie: unknown error

    Hey there,

    Need help,

I'm working on a short sequence (15 seconds).

It has a few stacked video channels and I have applied overlays and fixed most of the color channels.

The film is XMF files from a C300. Sequence of parameters defined in accordance with the proposed recommendation (IE when I dropped the clips).

I get the "error compiling Movie: unknown error" message whenever I try to make or export.» I went through a lot of steps suggested by a blog post, I found here - I went through the sequence, removed the clip, has tried to return, then removed the effects.

When I deleted the effects and buried the clips off side by side he made out for me.  That's great, but I have to be able to export the effects all in and empty them in layers. What can I do? Starting to pull my hair!

    Details...

    Hey,.

Thanks for the tip - tried all of those, unfortunately with no joy.

I have not deleted my cache - also no joy.

  • Error compiling Movie.  Unknown error.  Premiere Pro export failed

Error compiling Movie.  Unknown error.  I get this message when you try to export my calendar to any format.  It exports for a while, then I get this message.  When I try to export using the media encoder it gives me just the sound of sheep.  I'm starting to hate this sheep.

Does anyone know how to figure out why it throws up to this error message, and that the solution is to go around?  I've lost countless hours trying to figure out a work around.  I can't just scrap the project, it took me weeks.

I was able to export fine dozens of times before, so I'm not sure it's important that my features are but here goes:

Custom PC integrated with windows 7pro SP1

    Intel Core i7 - 2600 K CPU @ 3.7 GHz 3.4GHz

    16 GB of ram

    64-bit operating system

After the implementation of many suggestions here, I was able to export the project 9 min successfully.  I need to take you all at dinner.

I don't know what suggestions has been around, but I have a feeling that it was a combination of ideas that went around.  Here's a breakdown of what I did to change the project so that it can successfully export:

1.) reset all stills in motion tab to its original settings & then click right on it in the timeline panel and choose 'to scale to the size of the image.

2.) replaced all files nested with the original tracks.

3.) changed the sequence settings (changed under subsection video previews and editing custom Mode > select the File Format as Microsoft AVI, uncompressed Codec Preview.)

I had to make a new render all previews after changing the settings of the sequence, and I had i/o errors while the process, but Adobe first CC of reboot resolved somehow these errors.  Several times during the editing process of the chronology (based on items 1-3) previously mentioned I had to reboot first due to a loss of the preview screen and inability to make things.  At the end of the day, I could so that he could succeed export so again once I thank you all.  It's a VERY important project for me and I'm serious about you take all this at dinner

  • Error compiling movie, unknown error, 2015.4 CC body

So yesterday Windows installed the following updates:-update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x 64 systems (KB3176936) - a security update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x 64 systems (KB3188128) - function Windows 10 update, version 1607.

Since this update, first Pro CC 2015.4 fails to preview rendering anything on the timeline, which gives the error "error in compilation of film. Unknown error. ».  No matter if it has video or just the bars and tone on a new timeline, same results of error.  I tried to change the codec of preview rendering, clear the database cache, restart and return under a completely new project, without success.  I don't see Adobe updates for the body from lately, so I'm stuck with this. Oddly enough, I am able to export any type of file without problem as usual.  My other versions installed in the body are also strangely affected by the same error message.  Any suggestions?  Help is very much appreciated!

Many people, for any of you to also have this obscure problem, I think (I hope), I found a solution.  As already said, the problem seems to affect ALL versions of the body, I installed, as well as nine project files or former organization I created or modified.  That last part, however, does not seem to be the case with the project files that are opened and saved on a Mac.  When the opening of some body of old last project files saved on an iMac, my PC may suddenly noticed that again.  Better yet, by opening the project evil files I created on the PC more on a Mac computer, save the file via Mac and then reopen on the PC again also seems to solve the problem.  So far this simple and overwhelming opening on Mac seems to change something, back to normal as my body of 10 Windows cannot. I hope this helps!

  • Error compiling movie: no time to export.

I'm running into a problem where I can't export my video because an error screen appears saying: "film compilation error. The Encoder error. No time to export. It's frustrating because I had previously exported before and I didn't go back and change a few effects, and add a picture. I looked through the other common rendering problems and none of them mention the message 'no time to export. I'm relatively new to first then pardon me if the answer is obvious, but I can't seem to understand based on any other user suggestions I've read.

I have never seen anything like this.  The only thing that occurs to me is to make sure the In and out point are not on the same chassis.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015 - Unknow Error compiling Movie

    Hello!

I'm new to this forum, but I try to keep it is still as simple as possible.

If the problem is presented in this picture I just took:635325b516d66dc0664b3406d69b1c75.png

As you can see, it stops and also, always on the same place, this place has even not any change than the other, only the beginning and end of the video have some dissolve and such things.

But I noticed, with acceleration GPU is turned on and I really need, it speeds up the process so...

Also tested different GPU of as R9 290 x and GTX 680.

I also tried different programs for rendering, such as Magix Movie Studio and Sony Vegas Pro, with GPU rendering ofc and idk why, sometimes I'm crashes again, but here I can change as the use of the ram of my GPU and other, which makes accidents disappear. This makes me think should I go back to Sony Vegas, which would be much faster.

Tho I want to stay with adobe, editing better when I get used to it.

    My PC specs:

    10 64-bit Windows

    ASUS Maximus iv-gene-z/gen3

    I7 3770 k @4. 4 GHz

12 GB of ram timings @1600 MHz CL9

EVGA GTX SSC 970 with new drivers ofc.

    SEASONIC PSU Platinum 660

Case of Desing set fractal R4

    NO HEAT PROBLEM!

Note last night, there was a new update (2015.3) that may have fixed the issues.

I am currently using Media Encoder and with no problems coding of anything at the moment.

  • Updated from CC to CC 2015 2014 now unknown error compiling movie in SOUL

I'm editing a project that is 720 x 576 only so no HD in question.  My PC is running Windows 10.

I used 2014 CC and had no problem to export the project.

I just upgraded today to CC 2015.

Now, it is true that, after making a few changes to the project, I get the dreaded unknown error message.

I read a lot of comments on the forums about this and what seems to be a multitude of things to look at to fix the problem.

I did not much yet to investigate and make, but for the life of me I don't understand why the software can at least give an idea where to start.

One solution supposed to remove the clips one at a time to determine where is the problem.

My project has hundreds of clips, so it could take some time.

I'm happy that I'm only using the software for a hobby rather than for a living if not I would be hot.

Maybe someone could explain why the software can't give a clue where in the video, the error is.  Surely, he must know where is the problem. He might not know what is causing the error, but a clue as to where to look would help to solve the problem.  It seems that this error has existed for a long time, and you would have thought that adobe would have found a way now to reach a judicious system of error reporting.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

Fortunately, I just tried the first test:

Change the video rendering and playback the playback (Cuda) Mercury to Mercury Playback Engine software only engine

He deleted the files of rendering.

Then, I just did an export throughout the sequence.  Almost all of the existing sequence in the timeline showed in red that I guess that means that a majority of it is not rendered.

The export worked perfectly without error.

  • Error compiling Movie - unknown error

This issue is constantly perform when rendering and export since the last CC of first pro version. My colleague is having the same problem and we are working on different computers and different projects. We don't have this problem when we turn off the acceleration GPU (CUDA) Mercury playback engine. Not a great solution since it slows down the editing process considerably! Everyone knows about this issue and know a better solution? Thank you!

According to my experience, there are a number of things you should try when this error message. Start with the most basic.

    -Restart the Prime Minister

-check you have enough memory and/or close any other programs you have running which can be slow things.

-Tinker with gpu and rendering parameters.

-reboot the machine a couple of times

-Try to copy your clips of the entire sequence in a new sequence with the same settings (make sure that they match your capture) obvs.

-Try rendering/export spare parts of the sequence, so it will be rendering/export some part but not one another is almost certainly a little problem with an applied effect or a particular clip. half and half new etc until that you locate the clip of problem. delete this sucker and reinsert.

-Open a new project and import the entire project of the former. It worked for me in the past too.

Hope these helps. Try them all!

Adobe, people depend on your software for a living. ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. It is a nightmare and has lost me days and days of time. It seems that other users are more knowledgeable about this than the creators of software. Why is this? We pay a lot of money for your programs and get the useless media problems of this kind.

  • 'Error compilation film unknown error' made or export in first or Media Encoder or

    Hi all

I'll have made troubled and the export of which certainly is a sequence quite complex 2.5 hours of first CC 2015 and Media Encoder. I'll describe the problem, then provide my card, then describe my attempts so far solutions:

    1. The problem: try to make my outside sequence gives the error "error compiling Movie. Unkown Error"at irregular intervals, sometimes after 10 seconds and sometimes after 10 minutes of rendering. It occurs also when rendering of three subsequences that he content and when expporting media first or Media Encoder.
    2. My specs:

Material - I am on Windows 10 x 64-bit on a desktop computer custom built with MSI AM3 + configuration motherboard with an AMD FX6350 3.9 GHz processor, 16 GB of RAM and a 2 GB AMD Radeon R9 380 graphics card, all current drivers.

Software - creation and Media Encoder are defined to use the reading Mercury (GPU acceleration) engine and the composite linear color, and are both set to update to version updated for release 2015 CC.
Sequence - I'm editing in square pixels of 1080 p AVCHD, 29.97 frames/second, 48000 Hz sampling frequency, using the only i-Frame MPEG video previews. My sequence has three subsequences, all of them contain a multicam pulling three video sources synchronized sequence (it is a composite event that was recorded live). I export in H.264 MP4 @ 10-12 Mbps with 'Match sequence settings' for the framerate, bitrate and size of the image.

    3. My attempted Solutions: , I started with the basics... Clear your cache of media, delete make files and files video preview, flatten your blocking sequences, export each subsequence individually, create a new project and import the old sequences, all this, trying to render and export between each of these steps. Frankly, I'm bad-shot in the gut. I desperately need to export this sequence successfully and there deliver my video to an audience online and from there, also create versions for DVD and Blu - Ray.

I'm just wishing so bad for an error code, a clip defective to be identified somewhere, an Executive responsible for headaches, something. Something besides, 'film compilation error. Unknown error. »

Grateful for any help offered by the community of users of wonderful to Adobe Premiere Pro.

    Hi Nathan,

Sorry for your troubles. Looks like you have a sequence that should be able to be exported, but can't. To add to your frustration, the warning dialog box has no clue as to what is the error. With what is happening at random intervals, it is really difficult to solve.

For the latter, the next release of Premiere Pro's warnings more explicit. This update is coming soon. In the meantime, let's work on the export of this sequence.

Firstly, log a case with support. Here are the details on how to contact them.

The first thing to look at is your system, I would say. It looks up to the requirements of the standard, however, it is quite a long sequence. If you have lots of GPU based effects and/or Lumetri effects, your VRAM might be out of memory, cancelling export and crashing with error compilation Movie.

If it was me, my prime suspect. How do you work around that? Avoiding the GPU? In fact, Yes. It will take time for export, most certainly. This could take days. Not much you can do, unfortunately, unless you muscle your hardware. Currently, my guess is that your GPU is probably not powerful enough for what you want to do. In the project settings > general switch to software only.

Can you avoid this in the future? Yes, with a different workflow what smart favours rendered instead of make or export at the same time with GPU based effects.

This means that you'd have to transcode the AVCHD video to a codec chip to make and restore the effects along the way in this same codec. At the time wherever you export, you are not typing the GPU because you use files preview instead.

Info: FAQ: how to speed up making, export or encoding?

    Thank you
    Kevin
