Hi I have a user who has the folder MY documents redirected to a share on Windows Server 2003. When this user tries to delete a file in the My Documents folder, it receives an error. Error code: 0x8007054E
I've checked the security, and everything seems appropriate. His domain account is in the Local Administrator group.

It is possible that your permissions on the server are goofed, sometimes during the maintenance of the server with some hosting companies.

My guess is that you probably write and delete but not crushed. It is quite easy to test.

Create a new file named test.html and download it.

I get a "File in use" error - "the action cannot be completed because the file is open in another program" - but it is not.

You can check it out using Process Explorer from Microsoft.

Windows 7, error: deleting the file failed code 5

I use a relatively new pc with Windows 7, and when I try to update a program (run an exe file to do this), I get an error message saying "delete file failed code 5. The program file that I am trying to update is located in the "Program File (x 86)" folder, and I believe that I am the administrator. Is there something to do about it?

Compress files

There are two ways to compress files in windows. Zip files and built-in file compression. It's built-in file compression. For more information on compression type zip in Start - Help and Support .

Photos, music and video are already compressed. They can get larger if Windows tries to compress it any further. Also usually a bad idea to compress system files.

If you have files of worksheet they can very well be compressed. If you have files, installation files, they can also be good candidates. Web pages are also good candidates.

In Windows Explorer, blue file names means Tablet (it is the file system compression not aka zip files compressed files). Green filename means Encrypted.

To disable file names colored, in Explorer - Tools menu (Alt + T)- display tab and then clear the check box for Show encrypted or compressed NTFS in color .

Windows compression, encryption and security to work for the most part by applying attributes to a folder and the files in the folder inherit the folder.

If you have all the files appropriate for compression, find them in solution, made Explorer right click - Properties - general -Advanced button tab - Compress contents to save disk space. Choose to apply to all files and folders when asked.

The recommended way to remove this folder is to uninstall Acrobat Reader via Control Panel / programs.

Cannot delete the file on the remote server (Business Catalyst)

Hi, I am trying to delete a file on my remote server (Business Catalyst), but I get an error message (log of the errors below). I can delete the other files in the same folder. Cannot delete the file *.vswp

We have ESX 3.5 Update 2 and I can't delete the file *.vswp from the data store.
BTW this directory ist only this file *.vswp and the virtual machine has been removed from the inventory by using Infrastructure Client.
I have already tried:
service mgmt-vmware restart
but it does not help.
Even this:
VMware-cmd - s unregister /vmfs/volumes/vmware:storage1/TEST/TEST-461053fd.vswp
VMControl error - 11: no such virtual machine

make one

PS auxfww | grep-i 'Test '.

This should get the process ID for it.

Delete the file as an attachment button does not work

I have a form with a box the user can attach files. There are three buttons. To add a file to open the file to see it and the third button to delete the file that is highlighted in the drop-down list. Remove the button does not work. You see something wrong with my script?

I got this error:

I tried to solve it by searching for CoreTelephony errors. Could not resolve yet.
Software does not, especially of photoshop...

Same thing here, iMac with OS X 10.11.6. All started a couple days ago. Have not found any valid solution online yet, I tried rebooting in recovery mode and check disk, but it seems that everything is ok with the drives and permissions.

Cannot delete the file on my Mac

I feel so frustrated at the moment. It's my computer and my files and sometimes it says I don't have permission to delete or it is used when it is not because it is the first time I have connected the player via an ethernet cable.

Sorry, I'll try and be a little more specific. The I'm trying to delete files are video files and projects related to the soft of Adobe. When I try to delete the file, it indicates a specific folder with videos is in service. I did not open this file or folder for more than a year.
