Hello
I'm having a problem with a pdf file created for my business. It exports without problems and displays correctly on my computer, but once it is transferred to the Web site and you download from here, pages randomly displayed not correctly, images and pieces of text go missing and different "internal error" messages pop up, such as:
"An internal error has occurred."
"There is an error on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the pdf document to correct the problem.
"Failed to retrieve the embedded police"LICYDR + GaramondMT". Some characters may not display or print correctly.
"Insufficient for an image. And when I close the pdf file it asks if I want to save even if I did not bring any changes to the document. It seems that everyone has problems with pages and receive different error messages. It is exported using the smallest file size preset in InDesign. Any idea what could be the cause? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you
Sarah
One thing to check is if BINARY is used in the FTP client. If a client FTP ASCII is used, it may corrupt PDF files.
Here's another thing to check yourself for you. Find the size in bytes of your original PDF. Now, look at the size of the uploaded file in bytes. Are they the same? If this is not the case, ask your colleague the size in bytes of the PDF file on the server. Is this the same as the original, or bad file?

How can I specify location of the control file when the manual creation of DB?
DB version: 11.2.0.4
OS: Oracle Linux 6.6
The CREATE DATABASE command creates the control file.
CREATE DATABASE command is executed once you start the instance in NOMOUNT State as shown below.
SQL > startup nomount pfile=$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/initBRCPRD.ora
SQL > create database 'BRCPRD '.
MaxInstances 32
MAXLOGHISTORY 1
maxLogFiles 192
maxlogmembers 3
..
.
.
< snipped >
When you create the database manually, we can define the control_files parameter in the init.ora as below and control file will be created at this location. Right?
control_files = ("" / u01/oradata/BRCPRD/BRCPRD_control01.ctl","/u01/oradata/BRCPRD/BRCPRD_control02.ctl "")
When I was generating the DB using DBCA GUI creation scripts, it asks to enter the location of the Online redo logs and control files.
I entered my desired location. But, I couldn't find CONTROL_FILES parameter in the init.ora file generated the DBCA. This is why I got confused. I think that DBCA is internally somehow. So thought I'd post it here.
Hi John, OP
Just checked the init.ora file created by DBCA. Although the parameter CONTROL_FILES is undefined, db_create_file_dest = '+ DATA_DG1' was created. OMF default location is defined by the db_create_file_dest parameter.
So, I could safely use this script for the manual creation of DB, and during the CREATE DATABASE command execution, oracle will place CONTROL_FILES + DATA_DG1 using the format;
+DiskGroup/dbname/filetype/filetypetag.file.incarnation

That's what I'd do:
Primary backup (change in your directory as needed)
RMAN RUN { allocate channel d1 type disk; backup format '/u01/backups/PRIMARY/df_t%t_s%s_p%p' database; sql 'alter system archive log current'; backup format '/u01/backups/PRIMARY/al_t%t_s%s_p%p' archivelog all; backup current controlfile for standby format '/u01/backups/PRIMARY/sb_t%t_s%s_p%p'; release channel d1; }
Move the backup and duplicate like this:
rman target sys/password@PRIMARY auxiliary / RMAN> run { allocate channel C1 device type disk; allocate auxiliary channel C2 device type disk; duplicate target database for standby nofilenamecheck; }

Hello
I try to simulate recovery scenarios. My Oracle database 11g is configured with two control files. I stopped the database and a corrupt control files by editing with random characters using a hex editor. When I started the database, everything is going like nothing happened. No warning, no errors, in Enterprise Manager the State control of the file is VALID. I opened the control file, but it is still published (so it has not been automatically replaced by the good, which is not a good thing anyway).
Why is this happening? The system is unable to warn me if one of the control files is corrupt?
Thank you
Adrian

Normally, I clone cold backups so I don't need to manually create the controlfile.
I see that your solution is contained in the following note;
"Cloning of Oracle Application 11i with rapid Clone /R12 - database (9i/10 g / 11 g) using on Open Database [ID 760772.1] hot backup. You are correct, we mainly use this method for hot backup-Section advance clonning
But I'm still curious to know if Nicolas is to create a clone of a hot backup or a backup to cold, and why he uses the 'ARCHIVELOG' option on his clone.
It depends, for me I prefer to choose option NOARCHIVELOG and NORESETLOG

If it doesn't, try a startup repair and / or a system restore using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft
Manufacturers recovery disks normally do not have Service Options; they are normally a relocation to the factory only settings option.
Here is the guide to repair Options using a Vista DVD from Microsoft.
If a friend or a work acquantance of yours has one, you can borrow and use it for repairs.

If you do not or can not borrow a Microsoft DVD there is a download of a file ISO of Vista Startup Repair available that you can put on a Bootable floppy to make the above startup repair and that the method is recommended by a large number of posters in these Forums.
Unfortunately, you have to buy it.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.
To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:
You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery on the drive Partition hard reinstall Windows how much you bought your computer.
The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)
Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.
Them or us ask the right sequence of key.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

I want my procedure to return the error message in the batch file
Hi team,
I have a requirement from users of the company. Could you please provide your suggetsion to achieve this.
We have a batch file that is short on time, in this batch file, I'll call you a SQL script.
In the SQL script, I called you a procedure to run.
Inside the procedure, I have the following statement,
Select, insert and update commands.
and I use ANOTHER exception to handle errors.
My requirement is to pass the error messages for the batch file when one of the orders was not not run and send a notification e-mail to the group with the error text.
Please provide your suggestion.
Thank you and best regards,
Robette.
Could you please tell me, inside the procedure I have to remove the OTHER exception and how I can pass the value to the command file and where I add the content of the e-mail notification.
I suggest that you write modular code instead.
1. create a log table
2 modify the procedure to log on to the error log table or exceptions
3. that others suggest have the recovery/return procedure an exception in the client/batch file
4. for an exception have the batch file to call a procedure to do the emailing if there were exceptions
IMHO, it's a MISTAKE to try to put all these features in a single file. It is NOT scalable and makes it almost impossible to update the batch file if the requirements change in the future.
Logging should be a separate process with a separate log table so that you can capture ALL of the information that may be necessary, now or in the future. Enter information in a table of newspaper, it is EASY for ANYONE to query to see what problems are occurring in the process.
Emailing should be a separate process so that it can be used for your batch file current, files of future orders or even by procedures or functions in the database.
Do not try to create a solution "a script does everything."

Add other fields to sql * source file loader without including them in the control file
Hello
We have a file that we receive every day to an external resource. We load the file into Oracle using Sql tables * Loader!
My question is, if external resources added more fields at the end of the file and I USED to change the control file to load (almost there will be right there without any use!)
Will I get an error SQL * loader?
or else, it will be fine!
Thank you
/HESI
In general, SQL * Loader will simply ignore the extra fields at the end of the line. However, there are exceptions to all rules. To do a correct delimiter after the last field you load. The additional fields must dressed not in the next line, unless you have authorized to do this. If the end of the characters of the line of the source operating system do not match at the end of the characters in the line of the target operating system, then you need to deal with this in one of the various ways. These are a few examples.
