ERROR FATAL Service Pack 2 / GLITCH

I recently installed service pack 2 and now the computer I'm running on Dell studio 1537 turns off without displaying a stop screen or advising me an error (bsod, etc.) when I go to reboot the system, it will say that he has himself turned off to protect data and yet all the work I've done beforehand disappears what worries me the most is that he did exactly the same thing in diagnostic mode...
Is it possible to go back to service pack 1 that I did have a problem with it yet? Or y at - it a fix for this problem?

http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/948537

Method 1: Uninstall the service pack of Windows Vista by using the programs and features item in the easiest control panel to uninstall a service pack for Windows Vista is to use the programs and features in Control Panel. To uninstall the service pack of Windows Vista by using the programs and features in Control Panel, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start

    Collapse this includes this image

type Appwiz.cpl in the Start Search box, and then click Appwiz.cpl in the programs list.

    Collapse this includes this image

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.

  2. Click view installed updates.
  3. Click the service pack that you want to uninstall, and then click Uninstall.

If you don't see the option to uninstall for Windows Vista service pack in the list, go to method 2.

  4. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the uninstallation.

If these steps successfully uninstalled the Windows Vista service pack, and that this solves the problem, you are finished.

  • If these steps do not uninstall the service pack of Windows Vista, or if these steps successfully uninstall the service pack of Windows Vista, but do not resolve the problem, you may need to restore the system to a previous state. To do this, go to method 2.
  • If you do not want to remove the changes that you made since you installed the service pack and restore the system to a previous state, go to method 3. Method 3 is intended for advanced users.

Method 2: Uninstall Windows Vista service pack and restore your computer using system restore

Restore point:

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

See you soon.

  • Error installing Service Pack 3 on XP because of the "disk space" despite 40 GB free

Well, I was working on the installation of some programs for my school (ProE Wildfire 4.0) and to run it, we required some software VSP. When you try to run the software, it gave me errors on missing components and when he tried to download, it gave an error. So I decided to do a Windows Update for I hope to solve this problem and tried to install Service Pack 3 (this a bootcamp partition on a Mac, unfortunately, everything works great on my desk), who was absent, probably because I installed XP only a few months ago. However, whenever I tried to install the service pack, it gives me an error, saying: it took 4 MB more disk and cancel the installation. I got 40 GB free, so I just did a virus scan of the entire system with Symantec and Spybot S & D. Then I made the error of disk checking, defragmentation, disk cleanup, cleanup with CCleaner and cleanup with CleanUp!. And he always gave me the same error. During this time, I realized that Microsoft Security Center was not picking up on my Symantec Antivirus. I had a virus earlier and thought that Spyware S & D and Symantec may have missed something, so I did some research and took measures to protect themselves against a little guy called backdoor.haxdoor.cn. Apparently, I was not according to HSfix and HijackThis. So I thought that Service Pack 2 might have poorly installed and messed up the Security Center and my chances of installation of Service Pack 3. But when I went into Add/Remove Programs (w / visible updates), I couldn't find the upgrade to Service Pack 2 anywhere, that brought me to believe he was present on the XP cd, I have installed since. So I tried to take a break for Service, removing the repository, and then by him restarting. That no longer works. So I gave up on the antivirus error causing the service pack 3 error idea and tried to do some research on service pack 3 generally, but I couldn't find anything really relevant. And now I don't know what to do anymore. Any help would be appreciated.

    silentearth3,
Well, it sounds as if there are a lot of things with your computer.  The first thing I would say is to clean your system startup and then try runnings Windows updates.  Make sure you have any antivirus or firewall programs that may interfere with Windows Update.
Here are the instructions for the clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/310353

If you still have a question I would then download SP3 to your desktop and try to install from there.  Here are the instructions on how to manually install SP3: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389/

  • SP2 error: "the Service pack installation cannot continue.

    Hello

Hope someone can help with this.

When I try to install SP2 I get this message "the Service pack installation cannot continue - is missing one or more components of the system which requires service pack."

My computer is a Dell Studio 1737 laptop came with Vista Premium 64 bit OS. Received 3 months ago.

Last week, I got a blue screen while making a rescue disk (I know, it's ironic), computer was slow, so I tried to do the system restore. System Restore does not work (I installed SP2 in fact at the moment, no problem). Looked for the solution, only thing I could find was to re - install OS repair mode (upgrade).

Found some info on VLite (knew, it has not been accepted by MS). Did the repair installation with VLite, added updates and drivers, took only some of the great language files. Load and run fine, ran all updates to windows. When I tried to install SP2, I got the "Service pack installation cannot continue - one or more components of the system that requires the service pack are missing. Looking for solutions, concluded the MS 'this may be due to the installation of VLite"only resolution is to re - install with OEM disc.

If that's what I did, re-installed, (repair - upgrade), once again. Load and run fine, ran all updates to windows. When I tried to install SP2 I got the "Service pack installation cannot continue - is missing one or more components of the system which requires service pack"-NEW.

    I have:

    -tried several times

    -uninstalled VLite (of fat)

    -Disabled antivirus, Norton 360

    -Downloaded the standalone KB948465 - X 64

-guarantees for KB955430 and all updates were installed

    -Ran "reset windows update components.

    -Re-installed "Windows updater.

-We searched MS forum and Web site for help, can't find anything on the message of"missing components".

    -Ran "System tool" KB947821

I had to reformat my computer and when you do updates, I can't upgrade to windows service pack 2. The error message says "Service Pack 2 Installation Error-failed to read or write to the database." • Problems to install Service Pack 1 for Vista

    Hello

I'm running my computer on Vista Home Premium 32 bit only.

I'll just say everything that happened to that meets anyone knows exactly what is happening. Recently, I received a few DVDs of the trial version of Adobe, who quickly, I tried to install. The installer says I need Windows XP Service Pack 3 or Vista Service Pack 1. I found this curious because I thought that I had installed SP1 long ago when it appeared on Windows Live Update. After checking, I discovered that I had not installed for some reason any. I watched in Live Update for download, but it wasn't there, so I came on the Microsoft site and downloaded the stand-alone version of the service pack. I have closed all the programs that I had running and run Setup. He got to halfway through the installation bar (first?) and has stalled for a while, then extended to the end of the bar and displays an error, which contained a link to this page: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/947366. I followed the steps in resolution 2 and downloaded system update readiness tool. I ran the installer, but it seemed just to stall for a long time, so I canceled and he run. This time I got an error before he began to install (Code: 0 x 80240009). I looked for a solution and came across this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833, with some people claiming it fixed.
I followed the steps and restarted my computer and it is no longer displayed the error, but it just keeps stalling at the installation screen. I decided to see if I could find an alternative
solution to the original problem with the Service Pack and came across someone who says that McAffee was responsible, which is the virus scanner, that I installed it on my computer. I disabled
pretty well all of the program, as well as my firewall and restarted the computer again. I ran the installation but got the same error. I have reactivated my firewall and McAffee and now I'm
at a loss on what to do next.
To sum up; I can't install SP1 or system analysis tool and I need to.
If you need more information, let me know.
    Thanks in advance

    Hello, Ember09

This seems to be an invalid data error code, Service Pack 1 installer was corrupted when you downloaded it, try to download it once more and check if you get the error again.

    Download the stand-alone update: x 64 | x 86

  • Cannot install service pack 4 Windows on Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2

No, it means that you are misunderstand any error message you see.  There is no service pack 4 for Windows XP.  All reputable antivirus meant for Windows XP software will install on Windows XP service pack 3.  If you have problems to install antivirus software, your computer may already be infected.

You must install one antivirus resident program.  Do not install the Avast and AVG; Choose a.  You can have other anti-malware of on demand software.  The best of them is MalwareBytes AntiMalware (free).

I just want to inform you that service pack 2 install gave me an error message when I installed it on a clean rebuild of my PC Toshiba laptop. Something about an incompatible driver. As I had already installed the latest drivers Toshiba pages, I chose the action 'ignore and continue' to install and the update has been completed successfully.

I then ran the utility Advisor upgrade of Windows (search just a Microsoft Web site to find) that checks the hardware/driver with Vista.

Their report indicates that the card Realtek RTL8187B wireless network driver has a problem with Vista and recommends to install the latest version of the driver. Since I do not have the latest Toshiba driver installed, what is the procedure to follow?

The WiFi with this computer functions laptop, with the only "problem" being a second 45 delay to the awakening of the mode shall be able to open a new web page. This is the time it takes to establish a connection to a router/modem.

You can try the page of the Realtek driver Realtek WLan driver.
There you can find the latest Realtek drivers for different chips Realtek.

But to be honest, I wouldn't be worried about this massage.
Something like this can happen after all installations of Microsoft service packs.

I remember that many pilots have not been substantiated by SP1 but they ran correctly
