Error handling/Session Timeout with APEX &; Ajax / Javascript
In our project, we have the problem, what a session timeout can occur when the user stays on the same page and a jQuery/JavaScript/ajax process is used.If a request for action called in a popup ajax without an active session process the HTML for the login page is the user.
How a management capable errors that no html will be displayed in the pop-up window?
Further there are external JavaScript files which need to read the content of elements of the application.
Is there an elegant/small/reusable way to get the value of the elements of the application?
The & APP_ID. The syntax does not work in external JS files.
Hi Oliver
Personally, I think that if you get a timeout that the popup is closed and your parent page is redirected to the login page. By using a cheque as a reminder of the success/error during an AJAX call you inspect the xhr.responseText to work if you have received a timeout would be recommendation and if found close the context menu, and then assign him the login page window.location.
However for AJAX calls not you will face a problem. In this case, you need a script in your login page that checks the window.opener and if so close the popup and sets the window.location opener to your login page. for example, I would like to add something like this to your header login page or login page model header.
Note: only tested on FF. In addition, the javascript above is just a very basic example and will close all popup which displays the login page and reload the parent with the login page. It can lead to an undesirable feature for web pages open your app in a popup, since it will be automatically shut down and recharge the calling page that could frustrate people. In this case, you will need to add more conditional logic in the script to check the current window.opener.location to check if the URL is for your application and then perform the close and reload action.
Of course, there are other ways to manage what is happening it is just an option I would like to Explorer.
If you need to read the values of the elements of application not page elements in javascript, you need to add a script to your page footer that defines these example
To get the value of an element of the application:
apex.appItem('MY_APP_ITEM1');
In the script above the request item values are secure prevent changes since they are accessible through the service such that they are defined as local variables to the breast. The only issue you will face access the value of an element of application which is been updated in session state by a process of AJAX. With the help of local values printed on the page rendered as it can get out of sync. If your item applciation values include line breaks or double quotes then you must escape them, if you need this support use a region of page PLSQL and escape the output after JSON script item values.
In the example I use apex Namespace, some people may argue it's a bad habit, but for me, I like to keep everything apex linked together. He has pro of / jerks to the argument, if the decision is yours.
Note: the reason to add the script to your footer must ensure that the values of point of application have been in session state, before they are issued.
The previous post of VC is the right way to access the elements of the entry page and DOM values.
See you soon

Why need Session timeout with the public user for public portal?
Hi all
I use WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.8 and I found that with the user public space WebCenter show still expire page and redirect them to the login page. I did not understand why Oracle do? If Oracle cannot remove the public user session timeout, but they must not give this event for public user. The end user, they don't care in this respect, it just feel discomfortable.
I really want a solution for this problem of Oracle. If the session is out of time, they only auto refresh page when the user doing anything on the new page (exp: moving the mouse, the key... event event) and the user will never know on this subject.
You have an idea about this?
Thank you!
Hello.
The patch allows just to use in file configuration web.xml depending the context-param:
oracle.adf.view.rich.sessionHandling.WARNING_BEFORE_TIMEOUT 0 This feature is STANDARD in newer versions.
He added the Web.XML WebCenter Portal (spaces).
I recommend that you add by using the project of PortalExtension instead of change manyally web.xml because when you apply patches manually changes in the web.xml file are lost.

Get the ADFC-12012 error on session timeout
We see a lot of timeout errors and followed http://www.yenlo.nl/en/adf-11g-handling-the-adfc-12000-controllerexception-with-custom-exception-handling/
for a solution, but it is not working, please help.
My guess is that you have some kind of extension on your oracle.adf.view.rich.context.ExceptionHandler file that's why your exception handler is not called.
Assuming that you have the right customized Manager defined in this file.

ADF: Session timeout problem using the JavaScript window.open() method
Hi all
I have a commandImageLink on my page, with partialSubmit = true, clientComponent = true. ClientListener the link calls a JavaScript onClick, the fire with a clientAttribute that contains the URL for the managed bean.
It works very well - the new window opens successfully. But the performance of any activity on the parent window, the session expires immediately.
The ciLink aims to open the URL in a new window and I can not change this feature.
I've tried (and failed)-
1. put the ciLink within the tag < h:form > and using target = "_blank".
2 actionListener on ciLink to JavaScript fire.
I use JDeveloper 11.1.2.1 with weblogic 10.3.6, JSF 2.0.
Thank you

I use JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.
I'm trying to properly handle session timeouts in the ADF. My request was the popup of session ADF 'canned' timeout when I am connected to my request and the session has expired. This same popup is rendered even if I'm sitting at my login page, but are not registered.
I followed the advice of Frank Nimphius as explained in the next forum so that my request of re - direct to the login page after session timeout. That works very well with his detailed document.
ADF Faces: practical copy session timeout
The concern I have now is if I'm sitting at my login page and my session expires, demand remains at the login page. I now have my credentials of type, and click Connect. Because the application think that my session has expired, I picked at the login page. Ideally I think not that the login page would hold a session. You have any indication on how I can get around this.Hello
What about using connection programmatically, in which case the login form is part of a public page (see http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/issue-archive/2012/12-jan/o12adf-1364748.html for an example, you can download)

Checking if I m understand how some OSB Error Handling case work
Hello
I´d like to check some basics on functioning of the treatment of errors on the OSB to see if I m their get right given that I understood something at the beginning and now I look the same that I understand, in some cases, but different behavior in other cases:
Case 3) when the error is triggered within the OSB:
In this case, I can see that when an error is raised even if I have an error handler and I have set up in the scene of the error handler a response with the failure of the Service Proxy sends in response an echo of what he received, if you want to avoid this, you may change the body variable, so the news of the fault can be sent in this way in the response and eliminate the header variable so it is not bounced (am I right?)
Case 2) when the error is triggered in a Service that was invoked by the OSB:
In this case I have the error sent by the called service is already in the body variable and the error handler needs to detect and intercept the error and that the body variable have been changed already then in response the Proxy returns this body with the fault on the inside (am I right?)
I hope someone can tell me if I m good or bad.
In my case, I have a case of open cause SR 2 doesn't work in the way that when an error is returned by the service.
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards
Gerardo JCase3: Behavior you saw is only applicable to type AnyXML/messaging services where the concept of $fault is not standard, as in AnySOAP/WSDL.
Try with Proxy with AnySOAP for wsdl based and $fault will automatically be sentCase2: I understand what you mean by "the fault sent by the service called". Normally the BS will know if the invocation is failing by looking at the HTTP response code. If the end point of the BS returns HTTP 500, then exception handler should be called. If the end point of the BS does not return HTTP 500 but only fills the default response, then the BS will not know and no error handler is called.
Can you please check what is the code of HTTP response for the endpoint?

session timeout - apex 4.2 definition
Hello
I try to add session timeout to 1 single application such that it disconnects after some time of inactivity. During my research, I have seen skillbuilder timeout plugin but I want to use default Apex in if possible, also I tried to run below code in page0 DA plsql but does not work with application-level maximum length of Session in seconds and maximum Session in seconds idle = 0, 0:
BEGIN
APEX_UTIL. SET_SESSION_LIFETIME_SECONDS (p_seconds = > 30,
p_scope = > 'APPLICATION');
END;
I'll appreciate if someone could help me with that?
Thank you.
the process is fair, that I had to close the session and delete the session.

in the APEX by clicking on the link hyper does not trigger session timeout page
Hi all
I have a question about the application of APEX session time-out. I created a simple application of the APEX. In the region report SQL section, I have code like this:
SELECT DOC_Name, DOC_URL,
"" < a href = "" | DOC_URL | "target ="_blank"/" > download < /a > ' pdf_link
FROM test_table
where emp_number = 00010001
When the user click on the hyper link, it will show the landing page for the user (for example if DOC_URL = 'http://forums.oracle.com', it displays the oracle forum page in a new browser).
But the problem is that after the user session timeout (I set to 240 seconds through shared components > change the security attributes, I put max the session for example 240 seconds timeout) when I click on this hyperlink, it does not raise my session timeout page and it still shows the page (oracle forum page).
Why in the APEX by clicking on the link hyper does not trigger page session timeout after the user session timeout?
How implememt or fix to trigger the session timeout page after clicking on hyperlinks?
(BTW, our version of the APEX is 3.2)
Thank you!Hello
rather than use your my_stored_procedure you could call a new APEX page where you have a page called P999_PDF_ID. On this new page you would have
treat a front header PL/SQL with the same code you have in your "my_stored_procedure". The only change would be to add aapex_application.g_unrecoverable_error := TRUE;
at the end of your code as well as APEX does not generate a standard page of APEX.
That's all. If a user clicks on a link, APEX will check the session timeout and if everything is ok, download your PDF file.
Concerning
Patrick

Hello
I use post step reminder of failure to manage failures in my sequence. The sequence of reminder post not failure has many steps inside. I realized that other reminders like post step runtime error reminder and Post result list enrty do not work to get the stage Post failure callback procedure. Any suggestions for the error handling in the reminder of failure stage post?
I also generate a report for the steps in the reminder of failure stage post. How can I do this?
Thank you

Thanks for your reply. I use developed approach for reporting. I uses the property Locals.Resultlist of the recall of step seq file post failed to accumulate the results and have a LabVIEW VI in the Group of the cleanup step to remove the results of the local population. List results and writing in an excel file.

The psaccessprfl table had been updated with the connection of data validated by using a platform application server dms shell script.
The area has been configured using the application server platform psadmin. UserId, UserPswd, ConnectID and ConnectPswd had been entered and verified. Passwords have been encrypted by the suite.
The psoprdefn table showed correct SYMBOLICID uppercase and ACCTLOCK is zero on behalf of PXXXXX.
The psaccessprfl table showed too correct SYMBOLICID.
The psdbowner table showed the DBNAME and OWNERID both uppercase.
The values encrypted in the database matched other environments on the same server platform.
Why app server not sign to the Oracle database?
Using the pscfg.exe, Manager of the Windows client configuration utility, I selected the 5 first checkboxes dialog SQL Trace on the left side of the tab of the Trace, I entered the name and location of the trace people tools to create and store the output of client sessions on the same tab. Then tried another connection to the database, using the pside.exe utility. The text resulting in the newly created text file showed the last executed statement was a select on the table psdbowner. I removed my trace entries using pscfg.exe to stop tracing.
Using the information provided by the last executed statement, I ran a request and discovered that the length (dbname) for the value of the column in the psdbowner table was one character longer than the expected value.
After update the column value by removing the end interval, the utility psadmin on the server worked without error.

Catch the event Web Service Session Timeout
Hi all
I have a LV Web Service communicate to a web client (Chrome, IE, FF, etc.). The user connects to the server and create a new session for him to help create Session VI. One of the entrances to this function is a timeout value (default 60000ms). The sessions behavior is such that if the user does not activate an application for web service (GET/POST/PUT/etc) within the time limit, then the session is automatically destroyed by the web service. That's what I want, it's fantastic.
My question is How can I detect when the session timeout happens? Another way to say, How can I detect when the user session is automatically destroyed?
What I tried:
- Of course, I can provide a "logout" link to the user calling ultimately "Destroy Session" VI, but I can't count on the user actually click this link (e.g. you really explicitly sign out of gmail or simply close your web browser?)
- I thought that the only way to proceed would be to save the cookie of session ID returned by create Session VI and then query this ID to see if the session still exists (check if Session exists VI). If the session does not exist, well, I know it has expired or the user manually destroyed it. However, even if I save the cookie ID, I don't see where I can actually use it any where (especially not check if Session is VI). It just seems no value given to the range of sessions.
Is this possible?
Thank you
Rory
Sorry, Thomas, but that isn't going to work. Think about it - you do not request a web service during the time-out period. You get ONLY a web service request when the client actually asked something. The customer does not have during a timeout; It's just times out... so, there is no node on the block diagram to check because there is no block diagram... get it?
No worries, however, I found the solution [read: workaround], even if the LV can do it (from 2013sp1).
The best way to detect if a user session times out / out times would be for LV to this exhibit as an event in the web service. The following approach would be for LV accepts a cookie as an entry ID and then provides information on this session (i.e. the session exists). I have a smell of two feature requests...
But because BT cannot do these things (or not exposed to the developer), you will need to get creative on the client side. Since I'm on Javascript/jQuery/AJAX on my front end, then it is possible for me to detect when the customer leaves the page or close the browser. It comes to $(window) .unload () in jQuery. Then, I can take this event and an asynchronous AJAX command of fire to one of my web service VI that will eventually call the "destroy Session" VI.
For more information see the site here:
http://lavag.org/topic/18490-catch-session-timeout-events-in-LV-Web-service/
Hope this helps someone.

ISE 1.1 - switch ignores 'Session-Timeout '.
Hi all
I'm playing with the service to ISE customers and have some difficulties in function of time.
After comments connects, the Radius attributes are sent to the switch (3750G) one of them is Session-Timeout, which should be similar to 1 h (DefaultOneHour)
According to ISE logs and debugs switch, ISE has done well and this attribute has been sent but it seems that the switch simply ignores.

ISNAT_CAT:1242: ERROR: Bad Internet type of listening address
"The problem has been resolved after that I changed my name from ZEMEROV_A to ZEMEROV computer.
Hyphens are not allowed for regular internet names. The only Microsoft DNS server
allows hyphens. Obviously TUXEDO checks the internal Web address syntax.
But I don't know why my IP (10.57.70.246) has failed.
In any case, the issue is resolved. Make sure that TUXEDO documentation recommends-
When using the name of the server host you talk server. This is case and sensitive syntax. »
Where as: I changed my host name of psoft_pc to psoftpc and I changed the same on TNSNAMES and everything worked without problems.
I'll mark this issue is resolved.
Thank you.

[ADF, JDev12.1.3] How/where to set the session timeout
Hallo,
After a few minutes of inactivity, the browser displays a message to inform that the session is not more active and only OK been must be clicked to refresh the page.
If a dialog box "btf" has been opened on the left, it becomes...
I would like to know what is the right place/method to set a deadline.
If possible I would like that when the timeout checks, the application performs a redirect to a page I like (for example the login page).
The application of ADF Essentials and is deployed to the GlassFish application server.
My concern is... what should happen to the open operation / pending when the time-out occurs?
For example, the user is modifying an af:table but it has not clicked validate or cancel...
Thank you
Federico
I would like to know what is the right place/method to set a deadline.
For java web applications, you can set the session timeout in the web.xml file. (this is the global settings associated with all sessions)
If you wish, you can set the timeout of session by program (and this is related only to the current http session).
If possible I would like that when the timeout checks, the application performs a redirect to a page I like (for example the login page).

My concern is... what should happen to the open operation / pending when the time-out occurs?
Well, session is destroyed, it will destroy all instances of AM and do rollback.
