Replica of Hyper V or secondary DC

Hello

My current domain controller is a virtual machine running windows server 2012 r2 on server 1.  I should create a secondary domain on server 2 controller or use Hyper V Replica to replicate my domain controller on server 1 to Server 2.  Thank you!

  • Replicate the Volumes CSV with the virtual machines in Hyper-V by ASM?

    Hello

We are migrating to VMware, Hyper-v. VMware reproduced us some across the Equallogic HIT VMFS volumes.

On Hyper-V, I can replicate VMs in Hyper-V, but they may not have comments ISCSI.

We want comments ISCSI features, I'm trying to reproduce the CSV volumes.

Is this supported? Is there a document that describes the configuration and usage?

    Hello

With Windows 2012 and 2012R2, there is a problem that currently prevents the HIT / replica ME volumes CSV.   Until it's resolved, you need to plan the replication of CSV volumes via the user interface of group.  I think this is mentioned in the HIT / ME v4.7.x documentation.

  • PS4100 EQL replication to secondary site

    Hi all

We need to configure the EQL replication to a DR site. It will probably take 1 x or 2 x PS4100; or 1 x PS4100 and 1 x PS6100 on each site.

    A few Qs for experts:

    (1) the primary site data will pass through the network of a 10 GB switch through 2 sets of x of firewalls and switches on a basis of 1 GB network. The secondary site will be also 2 x fixed firewall and the spine 1 GB. By reading the documentation Dell I understand that we need ICMP and 3260 open over the WAN.

Is there any kind of questions of data from 9000 MTU at 1500 MTU across the network? Any kind of impact?

    (2) designed to set up the initial seed on site, i.e., configuration of the EQL box replica on the same network and replicate the volumes. Once the initial seed, move the EQL box to secondary site and re - configure replication to point to the new IP address and synchronize the Deltas? Is this the best way? or should I use the manual utility provided by Dell? or something else?

    Comments are much appreciated.

    Hello

Re: 1 there are also each port iSCSI members on each side of the must be able to reach all the other ports on the side of the partner.   This NAT firewall won't work.

Re: 9000 vs 1500.  There is no problem.  Each iSCSI session, which is what the replication uses, can be negotiated frameworks standards or Jumbo.

  • restore of the replica volumes

    Hello

I managed to do on the partner server replication groups without problem on my dell equallogic ps 6000 series. I have a central memory that acts as a main partner replying to a partner of secondary storage. I managed to move all volumes to the secondary partner. Now, here's what I want to do. I've set up a host secondary dell r910 to connect to this secondary storage partner to simulate a recovery site. I want to restore these replicated volumes that I now promoted to volumes by using the process of restoration of xenserver 6.2 just as it is setup in the main environment to restore volumes and boot from them to xenserver. You kindly could direct me to a document that can guide me through this process or help me with how to get there.

    Hi Jamie,

From EQL, once that you promoted them and set the access policy, you must reconnect to the server.

You will need to contact Citrix support on how to integrate online storage repositories, if that is your question.

You use storage link or if all goes well just the iSCSI SW adapter?

There is also a technical report on the configuration of MPIO with XS 6.2.

  • Promote the replica environment environment non - CSV CSV.

We have one EqualLogic PS 6100 with a remote volume CSV we are replicating a 4100 PS in a data center. We have a 3 node cluster using Hyper-V in the local site and 1 node that is not being aggregated at the remote site. If we encourage the replica on the remote site (for DR testing) can connect to the volume and start the virtual machine, or do we have to configure a cluster in the remote site before we can use the volume? I searched the web but haven't seen this documented scenario.

    Thank you

    Larry

    Hello Larry,.

I don't believe it.  In my view, that there need cluster services to properly handle this volume.

I've seen clients add the remote node to the cluster in the primary, but have not all active volumes.  Then when promote you or clone replica can access the volumes.

If you have another server on the primary side, you can try this with a snapshot of a CSV volume.

I have Windows 2008 server R2. I created other virtual machines and installed Linux on it... and it works very well... Now, I am creating a new virtual host and install Windows 7, 64 bit on it. It starts normally, but then hangs at 'Starting Windows' screen. I let it run for up to 10 hours, but still no luck. It didn't go away... I tried 2 difference Windows 7 DVD. but the result is the same both. Any suggestion?

  • ACS database does not not after having changed the secondary ip of acs.

Hello.. Im having 2 ACS 3.1 server. ACS01 (primary) & ACS02 (secondary). We recently moved ACS02 to another site and has changed its ip address.

When we of database replication from ACS01, we received the error message saying ACS02 has refused the request of replication.

Any idea what can be the problem?

Consider these elements when you implement the database replication feature Cisco Secure:

    (1) ACS supports only supported replication of database to other ACS servers. All ACS servers participating in the Cisco Secure database replication must run the same version and patch to FAC level.

    (2) the principal server copy compressed and encrypted the database on the secondary server components. This transmission is done via a connection TCP, Port 2000. The TCP session is authenticated and using an encrypted protocol, Cisco-owners.

    (3) only hosts properly configured, valid ACS can be secondary servers. To add a secondary server, configure it in the AAA servers table in the section of this document Network Configuration. When a server is added to the AAA servers table, the server is displayed for selection as a secondary server in the list of AAA servers as replication partners, on the Cisco Secure database replication page.

    (4) the principal server must be configured as an AAA server and must have a key. The secondary server must have a primary server configured as an AAA server and its key for the primary server must match the key primary servers.

    (5) secondary servers replication takes place sequentially in the order listed in the replication list under replication partners, on the Cisco Secure database replication page. (6) the secondary server that receives the replicated components must be configured to accept replication of database from the primary server. To configure a secondary server for database replication, refer to configuring a secondary Cisco Secure ACS Server of this document section.

    (7) ACS does not support two-way replication of database. The secondary server, which receives the replicated components, check that the primary server is not on its list of replication. If this is not the case, the secondary server accepts replicated components. If so, it rejects the components.

    (8) to replicate the seller of RADIUS defined by the user and the configurations of the specific attribute (VSA) provider successfully, definitions have to be replicated must be identical on the primary and secondary servers. This includes seller RADIUS slots occupy sellers RADIUS defined by the user. For more information on the sellers of the RADIUS and the VSA attributes defined by the user, see section User-Defined RADIUS vendors and VSA sets the document Cisco Secure ACS database command-line Utility.

  • Secondary ACS do not authenticate

I have 2 ACS 1113 devices running 4.1 Build 24 (1). The first is the main and replica nightly on the secondary to our DR. Although in different places, they are both in the same VLAN with no. firewalls or an in-between of the lists to access them. All my devices will be authenticate with my primary ACS unless it is down, in which case they must authenticate the ACS secondary. The problem is that I have no problem with authentication on my ACS primary, but I can't get anything to authenticate to my high school (after the primary decision-making down to test). In trying to authenticate to my high school, I get no newspaper for authentication successful or failed after that my attempts fail. In addition, during my attempts fail, I try to log into devices locally and my authorization fails - again with no journal of the ACS. However, when I remove the NDG in the ACS secondary, I'm able to log on locally on the network device.

I believe that with the device the NDG in the breast of the CSA, there is a communication omitting my attempts (although it does not connect anything) since I can take the device off that NDG and transmit local authentication. I was running code 4.0 with the same question and thought that the update should fix the problem... but obviously, I have something to do else here.

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    This on seconday acs.

ACS---> configuration network ===> table Proxy Dis---> click default ===> if you see delivenrance 1 to the aaa Server---> drag it to 'Prior to'---> and what is there under forward to---> Drag it server aaa--> submit + apply.

    It should work now.

If you do not see distribution proxy option then go to GBA--->---> advanced option interface configuration---> enable the distributed array.

    That should fix it.

    Kind regards

  • Secondary ISE licensing

There used to be a facility to add the secondary node Admin ISE to licensing that it was no problems when the primary is down. I have a license yesterday primary and secondary for the basis of this way. When I filled out the license advanced in the same way, he failed and suggested that I raise a case of TAC. TAC telling me that only primary school is allowed. Has this changed? I asked if it was only for advanced, but the same answer back "ISE is allowed only on the primary. Thank you.

If you have two Administration nodes deployed in a high availability pair, you can get a license based on the hardware IDs of both primary and secondary Administration nodes. After obtaining the license, add it only to the main node of the Administration. The license gets replicated to the secondary management node.

  • Is the only language windows 8 a hyper-v?

I need to install win7 os in a virtualmachine, but it keeps telling me that I need to enable this feature, or if not, oracle vm will not be able to run 64-bit code. I'm stuck and can not install win7 64. Now, I've been looking around, and some sites say that I can do this in the bios, hard, I did not find this option.

My question is, should I get an upgrade? Is there another way?

No, you will need to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro to access Hyper-V

To the top of Windows 8 for Windows 8 Pro:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/feature-packs

This requires that your processor supports the translation of the secondary addresses.

To see if your processor is supported:

    Press Windows key + R

    Type: opitionalfeatures.exe

    Press enter

See if you can check off Hyper-V and all its options of void

If this isn't the case, it does not support Hyper-v.

You can use alternatives such as Oracle VirtualBox or VMWare Player.

  • Replica view 5 server connection

Quick question for a validation test. I add a broker for the secondary connections to our environment from view as well as the documents that I read seem to indicate the replication server does not require its own SSL certificate, but this seems contrary to the purpose to have SSL certificates. The replication server has its own cert? Here is the doc that I am following.

    VMware View 5.0 Documentation Centre

    See you soon.

The broker for the replica will need a certficiate SSL connections.   In our environment, we use SAN certs with the name of loadbalanced as well as the local host name.

  • Issue of replica of heartbeat

    Hello

    I'm considering installing heartbeat 6.5 U1 to protect vcenter 5.1 U1.
I have distinct, separate SSO Server SQL server and a separate vCenter server.

Do you need to have a secondary VM for each of these servers? Or does do something funky under the hood if you have need of a replica?

Documentation of the heart rate is not very clear :-(

Yes, you will need a separate secondary server for each of the 3 components, then you will end up with 6 machines virtual ultimately 3 assets and liabilities 3.

  • Replica of cluster WebLogic Session covers do not

    Dear all,

I-one areas with WLS 10.3.4 on two machines, each machine hosting a managed server, cluster of two servers, Manager of the nodes on the server and the management server on one of the servers. Using unicast and replication in memory with replicate if Group located in the weblogic.xml.

Balancing between both Apache and selected options that allow proxy plugin in the field.

It is I bring both servers,

Connect the user to the test application.

In the console, I can see cluster control that a user on Managed Server 1 and that the session is properly replicated on Managed Server 2.

I don't then not Managed 1 Server that hosts the main session, the manual page refresh users request goes to the 2 managed server with the user to stay connected (as expected).

However when I come back failed Managed Server 1 to the service I expected the current session now on Managed Server 2 to replicate to the Managed Server 1 (in case of failure of Managed Server 2, which now houses the main session).

No matter how long wait this replication does not take place, BUT if after the 1 managed server is back online I manually refresh the Web Page, which connects to Managed Server 2, this starts the replication in action and creates a replica of the session on Managed Server 1.

I don't think it's exected behavior and every idea what goes wrong?

It is said in the oracle documentation

"In a cluster of two servers, the customer would be transparent fail over to the server hosting the secondary session state." However, the client session state replication would not continue unless another WebLogic Server becomes available and joined the cluster. For example, if the original primary server has been restarted or reconnected to the network, it would be hosting the secondary session state. "

but in this case the second bit does not seem to allow the secondary State unless the web page is in fact used again (when you see the State of replica created, it's almost as if it happen going forward but does not take into account the current state and to re - synchronizes between managed servers) leading to a user to disconnect if a failed server flip-flop test is performed.

    Thank you

    Hello

Even if you choose the JDBC persistence... changes in the HttpSession data will be persisted/updated in the database only if you call "setAttribute" on HttpSession.

Please visit the following link: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs90/webapp/sessions.html#session-persistence

WebLogic Server does not write the session state HTTP on disk if the request is read-only, which means that the application does not change the HTTP session. Only the wl_access_time column is updated in the database, if the session is accessible.
For applications not unalterable, the container of the Web application updates the database for the session after each HTTP request state changes. This is done so that any server in the cluster can process applications on failovers and collect the last session of the database state.
To prevent multiple database queries, hide recently used WebLogic Server of the sessions. Recently used sessions are not updated in the database for each request. The number of sessions in the cache is governed by the size of the cache setting in the element of session descriptor in the WebLogic weblogic.xml Server-specific deployment descriptor

But yes, with the JDBC persistence you will get an advantage that "any server in the cluster can process applications on failovers and collect the last session of the database state." So there is no possibility of loss of Session. But compared to the in-memory Session replication JDBC persistence replication is little heavy weight because it requires a JDBC connectivity.
