  It is possible that some dependencies that are not loaded correctly. I would like to try and install by right clicking on the installation or the configuration file and select "Run as Administrator".
  Then try and save the OCX manually using regsvr32.exe.

  To register:

  Unregister and register again:

  1. click on Start Orb, in the start search box, type spr32x30.ocx /Unregister. and then click OK.

  2. click on Start Orb, in the search box to start, type spr32x30.ocx/REGSERVER, and then click OK. After you run this command, the operation is complete.

  3. now try again to your installation.

  I tried update 15 times and it continues to fail. I also downloaded the two files separately and they still stop at Midway through the update. I also tried the advice given here. There will be nothing of these updates no matter what.

  I followed the advice given in a separate post in this forum at Ramer49 to perform a selective startup with msconfig to try to run the update with all Microsoft Services disabled.  This does not solve the problem.

  I spent reviewing the logfile under C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG\Hotfix\SQL9_Hotfix_KB970895_sqlrun_sql.msp.log.  The problem highlighted is that the Services of Services SQL2005 database program did not start.  Here is an excerpt from the log file...

    OK I tried everything and nothing works! Only added beginners are updated browser Opera 10.63; IE9 (Beta); Firefox 3.6.12 and Google Chrome 7.0.517.41 and Java 22. Of course like everyone else in the world, I had to uninstall/enable and disable/download again and reinstall new Adobe Flash 10 and 11 of the shock wave and they keep crashing too!   I suggest you uninstall all versions of. NETFramework and later install each version individually, check if it works.

  I was in there for 22 years and has worked as an engineer on major networks and the network I stem - anyone got any idead. I checked all the basics such as Netbios, file sharing etc etc.

  It took a reinstall (upgrade) to get actually it works again.
