Error in InetCPl.cpl

entry: erase my traces of process

I'm not the original poster but on this system, I'm trying, the error dialog box is Rundll, with the text originally said:

Error in InetCpl.cpl

Entry: ClearMyTracksByProcess

These popup no cause apparent, every few minutes

There are also persistent popups which bring together in the taskbar with icon the IE indicating:

The required search key not found in any active activation context.

It is the only message, and the title bar is empty.

It is a system that I manually deleted the malware, which then then requires a repair installation.

that seems to work only ONCE, because on the next reboot BSOD, c000021a, code 0xc0000022.

Suspicion is also a persistent malware, especially as even firefox is having problems with redirection.

I just wanted to say that the problem is really... :->

  • rundll32exe C:\Windows\system32\inetcpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 10471 26 44 on Windows Vista SP2

    Original title:rundll32.exe

I am running Vista SP2. I'm having a problem with the rundll32 process uses all the available system memory. The problem occurs when the history of navigation etc. is removed when you exit Explorer. The message that is displayed in the Task Manager is:

    C:\Windows\system32\inetcpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess rundll32exe 10471 26 44

The numbers at the end of the message vary, but the essence is the same. 2 of these process begins, each using over 1 GB of memory. I ran several scans for virus problems, but everything looks OK. I think that a rundll32 reloading could solve the problem. Can anyone confirm this and tell me how?

    Hi charlieb15,

Since when are you facing this problem?

Inetcpl.cpl is related to the properties of Internet, I suggest you try the following steps:

Method 1: Auditor of file system (CFS) scan to fix all of the corrupted system files. To do this, follow the steps mentioned in the link below:

How to reset Internet Explorer settings

Important: when you reset the settings of Internet Explorer, all add-ons, passwords in IE stored and customizations are removed, and basically, you start with a new version of Internet Explorer.

Method 3: Use the Microsoft Process Explorer utility to discover the program using the files.

Method 4: You can see the steps mentioned in the article below, which deals with a similar question

  • Error loading c:\windows\afaxotum.dll

by turning on the computer, I get the above error message and have no internet connection, the computer is connected to a router.

I think you should fix your Internet connection first, and then fix the annoying startup message (this part is usually easy).

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

What you see you don't think you need to see?

What do not you think that you should see?

Fill in the blank: my system worked well until: _.

What do you think has happened since the last time your Internet connection to work?

Because you won't tell us what happens when you try to connect to the Internet (!), we will have to guess, but here are a few things you can check since it seems that your system is currently or has been infected with malware:

We will check your network connection properties.

Some malware will alter these settings and your anti malware software can't tell if you have changed the malware changed them or so, after removal of infections, it will leave just the settings as he finds them (it is usually a good thing), but can leave your disabled Internet access.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Inetcpl.cpl

Click OK to launch the Internet Properties Control Panel, choose connections, LAN settings.

Or, in Internet Explorer click on tools, Options, connections, LAN settings.

These settings control your Internet access for all browsers.

(If you make settings, write them down so you can undo changes if you must)

On most environments, not independent, there will be check automatically detect settings and the other boxes are (as Proxy Server) is disabled.

Automatically detect the setting checked =
Use the automatic configuration script = unchecked
Use a proxy server for your LAN = not checked

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Check your settings for how your network adapter gets its IP and DNS settings.  On most home systems, these parameters must be defined for the system will get the settings automatically.

If you have another system on your network that works, you can compare these settings with the settings of the system which is not a work and make adjustments.

Click Start, settings, Control Panel, network connections, and then select your current network connection.

On the general tab, click Properties.

In the drop down in the Middle, find and highlight the selection of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.

In the Internet Protocol Properties window, the usual selections are to get the IP and DNS settings automatically.  Select the following two options:

    Obtain an IP address automatically
Get a DNS server address automatically

The rest of the options on the screen should then be grayed out/not available.

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Restart your computer and test your connection.

If it still does not work, check your settings are still in place after a restart and then release and renewal IP of your network device configuration settings.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    cmd

Click OK to open a command prompt window, and then type the following commands:

    ipconfig/release
    ipconfig / renew
    output

Restart your computer and test your connection.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

    Hello-

We also received this error message after the deployment of patches to the PC.  We have had several reports of the issue and reduced the fix for the problem.  The issue seems to be caused by 2956283 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2956283/en-us).  We uninstalled the patch and IE11 started working again without problem.

So far, we see only this on Windows 7/IE11 machines and Windows 8.1 does not appear to be the problem.  The behavior that we see is that IE does not open even when we receive this error message, nor can you access Internet properties via Control Panel, or trying to start running inetcpl.cpl.

MS will be able to fix this patch or to determine what is the cause?

    Thank you
