Error in the printer I don't have correct access codes to print on the printer to work

I work in an office with my personal laptop, the Office has a network, Xerox Workcentre 7845 printer and it was connected to my laptop that allows me to communicate with the printer. However, the printer requires an access code to be able to print because it is shared between the different offices in this building. I have the access code, however, every time I try to print documents it prints an error message saying that I don't have the appropriate account codes. The problem is that I was never prompted to enter access code. How can I get invited to enter this code, so I can start printing? Thank you
