  Deleted the files suggested and went through Setup from scratch and guide downloaded without problem!

  1. click on START
  2. click on "Control Panel."
  3. double click on "Add/Remove Programs".
  4. Select "Office 2003" and click on replace {or} remove "."
  5 Select this option to repair the installation, and follow the installation wizard
  6. after the repair, restart your computer and then try to update Office

• Computer Windows 7 64 bit tries to install updates for MS Office 32-bit with errors.

  Windows keeps trying to install 32-bit updates on my 64-bit Office 2010 machine. He ceases to if an error, I guess because of the difference between the 32 and 64-bit.
