  Essbase Studio is the replacement for EIS, they all have two do roughly the same thing, essbase studio includes some of the new features for essbase 11 that IST does not work.
  EIS will slowly go away, so if you're new to these products then it is probably better for studio, even if at the present time, he seems to lack some features such as the race of the batch commands.

  I'll assume this BSO as you did, what you've done now is built, the hiearchies and data loaded Level0, now you need to aggregate these data at higher levels, in the OSI world, this is done generally by using a calc script that you can grow in the EA.

• Essbase Integration does not connect to my second Essbase instance installed on port 1424

  Dear Experts,

  I'm working on 11.1.2.2 version of Essbase Integration Services on Windows 2008 R2 Service pack 1.

  Today when I try to build the schema via EIS on my second instance of Essbase (configured on port 1424) I get the following error:

  "Unable to connect to the Essbase server: servername:1424 (error # 1030818).

  (Note that this instance of first default Essbase 1423 port)

  I'm able to generate contour when in the window of connection of Essbase of IST,

  I give server name as 'servername:1423' that is to say my first instance Essbase.

  But higher error happens when I give the name of the server as "servername:1424".

  An idea on how to get this resolved.

  Ah... His second Instance Essbase,.

  Although the OPMN of this 2nd instance is in the started state, but Essbase did not,

  so I restarted the machine and also replaced the SEC for Second Instance of trial file...

  Now I'm able to generate outlines of study of environmental impact for this 2nd instance.

• Loading of metadata through integration services

  Hi, I'm trying to load the metadata in a BSO cube through integration services. In the log (Olapisvr) file, I see that the dimensions are under construction but it is impossible to save the scheme in the end. I get these error messages:

• Attribute Dimensions with Integration Services

  Hello, I create a model of ASO Essbase by Integration Services v9.3.1 and I'm having difficulties with the creation of a dimension attribute that contains a hierarchy.
  
  We have a list of stock codes which are grouped by seller in a dimension, each stock code has an attribute assigned to the responsible buyer.
  
  The requirement for the company is to start from the top level of the dimension of the attribute, allows to access categories, then to access teams, and finally to the buyer... we effectively require it 3 levels within the dimension of the attribute.
  
  I managed to create the seller (physical) and dimensions of the buyer (attribute) through the study of environmental impact without problem, but when I load to Essbase all buyers are added to the top level of the dimension and I can't seem to indicate that there should be a parent/child hierarchy to build the size of the attribute of.
  
  Is it possible and if any advice you can give as to how achieve would be greatly appreciated.

  This is certainly a feature EIS/9.3.1/ASO support. I have many models with this type of structure. How do put you up may vary. Usually my attribute hierarchies are not only deeply, only two or three levels, maybe four, in a rare case, so I generally do not use a child of parent table to define the hierarchy (I'm not saying that it won't work, it might, I have not tried, but same steps should apply). In a typical model, I'll have my actions table that has a field of the buyer. Then in another table, I'll have my attribute structure that has columns for the buyer, teams and categories.

  In the EIS OLAP model, you add your table of attribute hierarchy and use a join to link it to the main table of stock, joining the field of the buyer (now a diagram of 'the Star' to a 'snowflake'.) Go to the properties and make sure that you set all the columns as "attributes".

  Then in the metadata model, drag your categories on the contour attribute, and then drag the teams and set it up as a child of the categories and finally drag buyer and defined as a child of teams. You only set binding attribute for the buyer to the basic dimension.

  When you run your build Sun it will set up your dimension to attribute properly.

  Some things to keep in mind, make sure that you have a process that ensures for each stock code that you have in the main table, you have a correspondent in your table dim.

  Sometimes, depending on what manipulation I do, rather than join the tables in HIA I'm going back to the relational source and create a view that unites the two tables, then in my OLAP model, I have a table that has three columns in attribute, a column for the buyer, then the other two for the team and the category, from there setting up model metadata is the same.

• Error loading of data in the data editor Prep file

  I am trying to perform a data load in Essbase Administration Services to a database in a planning application. I first enter the data Prep editor and then select file > open a file Data, and then select the .txt file I exported from Excel. I called my file GL.txt, standing for the General Ledger. There are no spaces in the file name. However, when I select the file and press OK, I get the following error message:

  My guess is that you have spaces in the path to the file. For example if the file exists in the folder 'My Documents', it has a space in the name. Several versions of Essbase do not like that. Try to move the file to a location such as c:\temp or c:\datafiles or any which way without spaces and you should be fine. It is interesting to note that MaxL is more forgiving of spaces that is EAS.

• Connection problem with integration services

  I try to connect with the following parameters

  with the pwd:password to user: hypuser
  I have the following error:

  You should already have it. When you install Essbase/EIS you also get a bunch of merant drivers installed.

  In older versions, you can choose whether or not you wanted to install but they get now installed by default.

  Edit: I just checked this link... I'm not sure if this driver will work as I have never used the native drivers or the Merant ones.

• "Error loading operating system" after windows update

  I have an ASUS EeePc netbook model: 1005PEB. Last night before going to bed, I stopped the netbook and it has begun to install and configure windows was last updated. I left on the office do its thing and went to bed. This morning, I got the netbook and it went out of the car and it turned on while I was about to leave the House (before ask you, no I ' was not flying). He started installing all the updates that it had installed the night before. It has gotten to the point where it installed the last element and hung up there. I leave a this screen for 45 minutes and nothing has changed. I went against my better judgment and off the netbook. When I went immediately to turn it back on all I get is "error loading operating system". I tried to use F8 to try to start it in safe mode and I can always access the BIOS. How do I get this service still? I don't have really any data here, I'm too preoccupied. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
