Error: low HP (C :) disk space

My computer knowledge is below average! My ' puter bed error: HP low disk space (C.) I cleaned and defragmented several hundred times but no enjoyment. I also uninstalled everything I thought to be unnecessary for me to use on this ' puter. The available memory is 4% reading at the moment and I feel very frustrated and at a loss. IS SOMEONE OUT THERE WHO CAN HELP THIS COMPLETE NOVICE?

I am a novice senior and also had this problem. I did a disc clean up and was surprised when he revealed to 8.4 GB of things in the trash, which I'm always empty through c cleaner. After cleaning running and do a defrag, I'm done with 22.4 GB of space. I ran c cleaner and is surprised she found 18000 Ko still in the Recycle Bin. Not this has real meaning for me, but at least I have a lot more space. Hope this helps you.

  • Error message saying no disk space on recovery drive E

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron which is only a few months old and I use Vista Home Premium. I constantly receive an error message indicating that the recovery E: disk space is full. I went to the computer to check the available disk space and the bar is completely RED for drive E: of recovery. I have a lot of available memory on drive C: I tried to Defrag disk and disk cleanup. Disk Cleanup says 0 bytes will be released by empty my trash. That's because my basket is empty! I deleted all temporary internet files. I did a virus scan. I tried to save recovery E: files to an external site, but could not do this. I tried to delete the files and received a warning message if I did not complete this task. I copied the files to a folder of Documents, but that solves nothing. I called Dell Support and they said something on the partition. I tried to create my backup disks, but this error seems to be the way because he won't let me do this or the other. I cleaned my images and deleted all of the videos. I did everything that I know to free up space. I don't want to disable the error message, as some have suggested. I tried previously posted questions and answers on the forum, but I am unable to find my EXACT problem. If it is there, then I don't understand computer Lingo. My laptop is only a few months old, so I haven't added a large number of files. Why is that happening and how can I solve the problem? Please help!

Dell computers are shipped with a recovery partition you can use to restore the computer to the way it was when it was new (usually by pressing F12 when the computer starts).   The problem is not that the recovery partition is almost full.  The problem is that Windows Vista should not access that partition at all and shouldn't the user.

To delete the partition of Windows Vista and avoid the error message, remove the drive letter:

    1. click on the Start button.
2 type diskmgmt.msc in the Search box and press enter .
    3. click continue at the user account control prompt.
    4. when the disk management window, right-click the E: partition, click change drive letter and paths... and click Remove .
    5. click on Yes .

This forum does not the letter nor did pay extra for punctuation.  Please try to write in complete sentences.

Simply connect your external drive to your computer will redirect the import of files from the CD.  You don't always have enough space on your internal drive - at least that's what seems to be the case of the incomplete information provided.

Full error messages are needed to accurately diagnose problems.

There are a number of things you can do to- temporarily - free up disk space.  The only real solution, however, is to get a bigger internal hard drive.   You can move the data to your external drive, but if it's the data that you use frequently, slower access times may annoy you.  Therefore, I do not recommend that you move your My Documents folder in its entirety on the external drive, but you can certainly do this by following the related instructions. You can also move your iTunes folder there (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1364)

    • You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
    • You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
    • You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
    • You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
    • You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)
    • You can remove most of the $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx files $ following the directions here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm (read the warnings in the gray box first)

But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long.  The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.

In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space and seem to so indicate what files you must move it to your external drive.  If you want to move an application, you will need to uninstall and then reinstall it specifying your external drive as the installation location.  You can not simply move the files.

  • "Insufficient disk space" error message during the upgrade to windows vista business to windows 7 Enterprise.

Hey, I'm trying to upgrade my Vista Business OS to Windows 7 Enterprise. During the 5th stage of the upgrade, i.e. While "transfer files, settings and programs", the process stops at 72% and a message error that "not enough disk space. I have more than 20 GB on my C: drive. I tried to go through different solutions of circumvention, but noon seem to work. Any help will be appreciated.

For lack of other options, I finally decided to do a clean install. Result: great! Looks like my laptop is brand new, and I have total control over the programs I want to install and the junk that I finally got away with. in any case, thanks for the answers!

  • CC apps install failed "insufficient disk space".

After a long battle, I finally got the Adobe Creative Cloud installer works on my Mac.

Now every time I try to install an application (any), it fails with this error message "not enough disk space. Free up space on Untitled, and then try again. (30)». ' (30).

I don't need to read answers most useless people who say that the OS disk needs space and 20 GB is not enough to install Photoshop. I have a 240 GB Intel SSD installed and I have more than 50 GB free. That should be enough since I already had installed CS6.

The log file is useful somewhat, I could find is ~ / Library/Logs/AdobeDownload/DLM_Native.log, the error it gives out is: "startDownload: could not start the download." Status DLE is - 1"

Can anyone lead me in the right direction to get this working, if not it kinda a waste of money if I can still use the products.

    -Andrew

So I found the solution, the developers of installer of creative cloud seem to store the files downloaded in/private/tmp and mine was only 256 MB in a virtual disk.

Since I have an SSD, I followed some simple tips to move/tmp and/private/tmp on a RAM disk. After much research, I found another post (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1235272) who had a solution to my problem.

So to solve the problem of the "not enough disk space on Untitled" I moved (or remove) / System/Library/StartupItems/RamFS to disable the script of RamFS to run at startup (I have not had luck with the command chmod 000).

The ultimate solution to this problem is to get the Adobe developers to modify the program to store temporary software downloads in a suitable location and doesn't depend on the private/tmp / (or Windows without doubt c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\temp). There should be an option in the preferences panel to choose the location of temporary files in case someone doesn't have a main (or c:\) disk space.

FYI, it's optimizing the page that advised the RamFS: http://blog.alutam.com/2012/04/01/optimizing-macos-x-lion-for-ssd/

I hope this helps someone else out there!

  • Error (disk space low volume C) can anyone HELP?

Hello world! Earlier when I had a problem with virus/malware, I chose to reinstall the operating system from the original installation disc. I use the version of windows 7 Home premium 64-bit with 4 GB of internal memory with a SATA 320 hard drive, with I think, 3 volumes partitioned space. When I was prompted to install the disk volume. I chose a different location from the location of the original of the operating systems (for fear of more write the original location of Windows OS.) Now I get a (disk space low on volume C erorr).      I now have two copies of the WINDOWS operating system on my startup directory, but I need one! So far, I tried disk cleanup and created a new partion Volume "A".            RESULTS > nothing changed, still in train (error-Low disk space Volume 'C').  Can someone help, please?

Thank you for your valuable time into consideration my request:

    Hello!

The tools that I have recommended to you are very small size (up to 1 MB set).

You can safely remove the C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch content to free up a few megabytes.

The prefetch folder contains details of caching of frequently used programs and startup applications.

With this .pf files, Windows can improve the performance of applications.

The .pf files are re-created when the applications were revived.

  • I am running Windows Vista and a low disk space error message.

I am running Windows Vista and a low disk space error message.  I ran disk cleanup, disk defragmentation and cleaned up all the old files and still only have 793 MB free on GB total 103.  I noticed that my 6.0.6002.18005_001c11ba_blobs.bin file takes 54.9 GB of space.  In research, it seems that it is safe to delete this file--is that true?  If so, how? It seems that I need permission to do this.

To give the control is a two-step process. Take ownership and then to give permissions.

Owner of a file allows the owner to change permissions even if they do not have the authorization to do so. It's the only thing that made property. The person who creates an object owns the object. For admins, the objects that are created are the property of administrators, not the individual.

You need start exploring as administrator to Start - All Programs - Accessories - made Windows Explorer right click and choose run as administrator.

You must therefore make a right-click folders / drive, you are interested in tick - button Properties - Security - Advanced button - property - Edit - Replace owner on Sub containers and objects tab - select one user-then Ok your way of out.

Right-click new - folder Properties - Security - Advanced - tab permissions - Edit button - select the account - check the two checkboxes - button - Advanced - Search now button Add button - select your tick - Ok button - total control in the list. OK your way out.

  • Disk space low recovery partition - how to stop the useless error messge?

I get the disk space error message off to a recovery partition. (Drive D)

Yes - the partition is full, but I'm never going to delete files from it. NEVER!

How to make the error message not pop for this partition? It's boring. And it keeps popping up again and again.

OK - I realized for me how to disable the error message - but this disables it for all readers is not a satisfactory long-term solution.

    1. click on the icon of the little triangle that represents the hidden icons
    2. click on customize
    3. find the icon of the disk space low Windows explore and change it to "Hide icon and notifications".

It sounds like this works - it should - but I noticed that EVERY TIME is to watch the Customization screen, it automatically returns to the default value and you have to change it again.

But - this is a TEMPORARY AND UNSATISFACTORY solution because...
    a. it turns notification for all readers - not only the recovery one.
    b. it does not disable waste clock cycles used for control of the car - this is what is needed - an option to DISABLE them searching for a specific disk/partition.
