  • Please enter IMAP server address

I'm running on Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11.0.10) and every time I try to use the file/send file I get the error message: Please enter IMAP server address.

I tried to fix, uninstall/re-installing Acrobat and also Office (Outlook) but same error message.

    Please notify.

I was finally able to resolve this problem by updating to delete the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\11.0\FeatureLockDown\cWebmailProfiles\tDefaultProfile

The current value is "null", so just delete that no one and leave the field blank.

Keep in mind that this registry key will be overwritten if you repair or reinstall Acrobat Pro and you will need to update it manually again. Also check your windows GPO maybe this key will be updated / replaced by them.

Where should I go on my PC to fix this?

In this case, use the settings given here:

Use port 587 instead of port 25 of the SMTP server.

To give you a little history, Windows Mail does not support the HTTP messaging, which for a long time was the only authorized method of access for free Hotmail/MSN accounts. In addition, given that the development of Windows Mail was frozen in July 2006, there no knowledge that Microsoft has enabled POP access for free Hotmail/Live/MSN accounts in February 2009. Therefore, the Windows Mail Account Setup Wizard is hardcoded to reject the Hotmail and MSN addresses. To work around this limitation, when you enter your Hotmail/MSN email address, initially, use a fake domain, such as * address email is removed from the privacy *. After the account setup is complete, you can go back into the settings and correct your email address.

    Hello

Your ISP, who runs the mail server, can provide port numbers and other settings. Pages of help/support of the ISP may have this information easily accessible.

The other common cause of error 0 x 800 is safety programs - an antivirus program scans incoming or outgoing e-mail, or a Firewall interferes with authentication.

    Hope this helps,

I have, I've been making the mistake of another email on another connection on below = the same PC configuration SMTP and POP3 works on another PC but when I try the frame to the top of the same bet on the same PC I have two connections I get this
    message;

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Colleen', server: 'xxxxxxxx.yourwebhosting.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 10061, error number: 0x800CCC0E

I readt through this channel and have tried most of the things listed I have Norton System works 2009 I tried it is installed and uninstalled as well.

    I'm running out of ideas?

I tried port 25 (which works on another PC) but on this one it is not.
I tried the 587 port not working either.

    anyhelp would be greatly appreciated

    De : Gary van

I guess that your problem is with the reception, because the error message you have provided relates to the reception.
Ports 25 and 587 do not affect receive it, because they are for the shipment.

The error message is difficult to assess because you x'd, one part of the name of the server. Perhaps the error is in the part "xxxxxxxx" to the name of the server.

  • Problems sending/receiving mail - error number: 0x800CCC0E - "the connection to the server has failed..." »

    De : Briangie

I've been out of town for a few days. I was using a public Wi - Fi connection to my laptop. The first part of the week worked fine, but now using the same wireless connection, I receive the following error message. Has happened since yesterday afternoon 03/10/08 and today is 05/10/08. What is the problem? Help, please!

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.charter.net', server: 'mail.charter.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, secure (SSL): Yes, Socket error: 10060, error number: 0x800CCC0E

    From: Gary van

In Windows Mail, go to the tolls, accounts, select the account mail.charter.net, properties, advanced. Change the port number for the incoming (POP3) server from 995 to 110. Make sure that the adjacent SSL option is not checked. Click OK.

As a general rule, the owner of the SMTP server must be the same that provides your Internet connection at the moment.

The workarounds available when sending abroad are the following:

    1. use webmail to send (via your browser).
    2. ask your ISP if they have one port other than '25' for SMTP. I do not think that
Charter of fact. Cable companies are very difficult to accommodate travellers.
    3. If you frequently use the same connection away from home, replace the SMTP Protocol
Server in this respect. It's a little tricky, but if you want to go this route.
    I can provide more details.
    4. If you frequently send to multiple locations, get a free Gmail account,
Configure it to POP access and use for your shipment of household chores.
Gmail uses port 465 for SMTP, which is not blocked as is port 25.
