iBooks (?) gobble up memory...

OS X El Capitan running on my iMac 2012... We have several profiles, and for some reason when my wife connects next to her, then disconnects, then I connect to my side, com.apple.BKAgentService is using more than 25 gigabytes of memory. Instantly, I can say that something is in place, as the icons on the desktop do not appear for several minutes, and I'm unable to open applications without a waiting period. I have to open the activity monitor and force them to leave the process in order to use the computer... from what I can tell, this has something to do with iBooks... but she isn't opening iBooks on his side, and am i. anyone have ideas?

Please, back up all data before proceeding.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select this option:

~/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService

Right-click or Ctrl-click on the highlighted line and select

Services ▹ reveal in Finder (or just to reveal)

of the contextual menu.*, a file must open with a selected item. Move selected item to the trash. Log off or restart the computer, and empty the trash.

* If you do not see the item context menu copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. In the Finder, select

Go ▹ go to the folder...

from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + V. You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.

  • Windows.exe gobbling up memory and CPU often CPU ranges between 50 and 100%.

    Hello

My PC recently turned very, very slowly and often unresponsive.  When I bring up the Task Manager, on the processes tab, I see that Windows.exe uses as much as 1 million K of memory and often the CPU ranges between 50 and 100%.  What is happening while no application works.  I have also noticed that in the Task Manager, there are two processes with the name of the image of windows.exe and consuming all the power and memory has no user name.  When I try to end the process on this one it still won't let me and a message appears saying that I don't have permission to do this, or something to that effect.  I am however able to stop other processes including the windows.exe with my username process.  The cases where it allows me to stop the process, performance improves, but given a little time, again with nothing running, it starts again. Thinking it was a virus, I missed the live update on Norton and performed a full scan, but nothing found.   I also tried Windows defender, but in vain.  Any help on this problem is greatly appreciated.

There are currently 222 process gobbling up memory and CPU on my Macbook pro, causing it to heat up and turn on his current fan. This seems too much. I'm in iMovie, Firefox (one tab), dictionary and Activity Monitor

I noticed this problem get worse after:

    (1) El Capitan install (at the request of Apple support)

    (2) turning in iCloud.

I have Airplay and a bunch of other nonsense that I neither want nor need.

In addition to being slow and running a bunch of unknown * that I don't want and probably need not, the internal hard drive of my 500 GB Mac is especially full of 'other '. I could not understand what 'other' was once the research. What is this and how can I free memory (I already turned on iCloud and deleted a bunch of stuff)? Why is my mac so busy? To identify other unwanted processes such as AirPlay, and al. and then uninstall them?

Explains, 'Other' > OS X: what is 'other' space about this Mac?-Apple Support

AirPlay works on your wireless network, so all your cam devices be connected through the same wireless network. AirPlay is part of Mac OS X.

"I'm in iMovie, Firefox (one tab), dictionary and activity monitor.

There is no reason to open the activity monitor application all the time. It is the only application most use more system resources. iMovie is RAM intensive, which can cause your Mac heat. Firefox should not cause problems unless you have installed several modules.

If you do not synchronize the data between your Mac and other devices, there is no need to have active iCloud. Open system preferences > iCloud then click: Logout

Don't forget. The OS X operating system is running in the background when your Mac is on. Your Mac has 8 GB of RAM installed, so you really have nothing to worry about.

Just enjoy the use of your Mac!

I currently run Symantec Antivirus Version 10.1.394.0

But for now, at least try utility Kaspersky TDSSKiller from this page:
  • "the unit has stopped responding or has been disconnected", the hell?

I see that this has happened after the update of the firmware. to slow firstthough, the files copied to the sansa fuze.

now on xp and a fuze Black 8 GB, I can't copy my files - what is starts, SLOWLY.it jumps about 30% (ive bene, try to copy the same * beep * file for the last hour) and then crashes. Sometimes it gives me the message in the title of the topic, sometimes it freezes and does not just care.

Occasionally the sansa gets "reconnected" because I see the normal windows login window popping up. (you... want to read the files, open the folder, do nothing, etc.)

It's VERY exasperating. Asking for help, a hotfix, or something accursed. It's my first week and I received it through my mandate after the last one (2 GB) broke down.

Update; I tried to copy the files small, about 1 to 4 MB each and they seem to work well. This one, that I am trying to copy is about 30. its as it limits the size of the file. the file is now stuck on 46%. It's like with every attempt, he adds in another percent or more. (randomly)

always well, I prefer NOT having to wait half of my day for a single file to be copied. see you soon

This is not a typical problem. It usually works, or it doesn't.

It is possible that your firmware update change the USB setting. Go to Settings/System Settings/USB Mode and change it to MSC and try the copy...

He is also anything could possibly live that you have a bad power cord. If there is only an intermittent connection inside the cable, you could get disconnects.

Finally, it is possible that you reach a limit on the use of memory in your computer for the file. Windows may be trying to put it in a temporary cache before sending it to the course, and this cache is not complete with a small file, but with a larger.

Just for the experience, disconnect from the internet and then turn off your antivirus program, which can monopolize lots of memory and try to copy. Obviously you have antivirus, so this isn't a permanent solution.

But if this can help, it means that you have too many things running in the background. You can watch all the pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL once to bring up the Task Manager. Look at the Applications and look at processes, which shows you everything works. Look under the memory usage to see if there is anything that is gobbling up memory.

  • iOS 10 left me with no memory!

Hi all, since download iOS 10, my phone has no spare memory despite the removal of the hundreds of photos and other files. On previous versions of iOS, it was possible to 'own' apps that seemed to offer a space or you could try to download any movie you have not enough memory for, which would again make the space. Anyone has a suggestion to return little memory please? I don't understand how the memory could be so low that the

update is the only change I made. Thank you!

    Hi JessG1903,

    Welcome to Apple Support communities.

I see from your post that since downloading iOS 10, your iPhone isn't much space left. This is even after the removal of the hundreds of photos and other files on your device. I've just upgraded to iOS 10 myself, and I understand the importance of having enough available storage. I'm happy to help you to help you find the best resolution for this.

Please use the article check the storage on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to see a list of your applications and how much storage each used, specifically, these sections:

Use your iOS device to check its storage

Go to settings > general > storage & use iCloud > storage management.

You will see a list of your applications, and how much storage space each one uses. For more information about its use, tap the app in the list. Cached data and temporary data could not considered as use.

Depending on the application, you may be able to delete its content, or to remove the app and all of its contents. If your device is almost full and iOS can free up space on your device, you could get a nearly full storage alert. If you see this alert, you will need to withdraw some less-used items.

Use iTunes to check the storage on your iOS device

    1. Open iTunes on your computer.
    2. Connect your device to your computer.
    3. In iTunes, select your device. You will see a bar that shows how much storage your iOS content uses, divided by type of content.
    4. Move your mouse over a type of content, as well as other applications, to find more information:

Here is a list of the types of content on your iOS device and what each type includes:

    • Audio: Songs, audio podcasts, audio books, memos and ringtones
    • Video: Movies, music videos and TV shows
    • Photos: Camera Roll content, Stream Photo and picture library
    • Applications: Installed applications. The content of the applications is listed under Documents and data.
    • Books: books iBooks, audio books and PDF files
    • Documents and data: Safari offline reading, list the files stored in the applications installed and content application like contacts, calendars, messages and emails (and attachments)
    • Other: Settings, Siri voice, data from the system and updated files cached

On the set files cache in 'Other' storage of iOS

Cached files are created when the stream or watch content such as music, videos and photos. When listen you to music or video, the content is stored as cached files on your device iOS so you can access them quickly again. class iTunes music cached, videos and photos than the others instead of real songs, videos or photos.

Your iOS device automatically deletes the cached files and temporary files when your device needs more space.

If the storage on an iOS device differs from what you see in iTunes

Since iTunes categorizes the updated files in cache like other, reported for music or videos may use delay. To view its use on your iOS device, go to settings > general > use > storage management.

If you want to delete the files cached in your iOS device

Your iOS device automatically deletes the files in cache and temporary files when it needs more space. You don't need to remove them yourself.

    All the best.

  • iBook ios10 problems

Changes to the ibook in ios10 are NOT an improvement:

    1. the two page mode is now can be used with very small font

2 the Library button is missing

    3. the function of the word define disappeared
