Error-Registry Editor

I have Recieve following error when cleaning with booster register my Registry Editor:
C:\Windows\system32\clb.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try to install the program by using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the provider of software for support.
any help thanks

Chances are good that the program you are using is not compatible with Vista.  Check it out in the Vista Compatibility Center: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-vista/default.aspx and he check on the website, you downloaded it from.

I would highly recommend against part 3 registry cleaners or boosters of registry of any kind.  Rarely, they do a lot of good and can cause a lot of damage.  Windows Vista is able to hold to its own registry and didn't need all this help.  Yes, I know that when you run the analysis, he said you had 5999 errors in the registry and if you purhased and ran the program he will arrange all - but it is mostly a marketing scam to sell the product or inspire you to use the product (which could be a source of nuisance).  The decision is yours, but I would certainly not do on my system or that of one of my clients.

Good luck and I hope this helps! Lorien - a - MCSE/MCSA/network + / A +.

  • I made a mistake of the HUGE Registry Editor

So, I just recently finished building a new PC, and I have a primary ssd with 120 GB and a secondary hard drive for mass with 1 TB storage. I wanted things to install directly on my hard drive by default, this is drive D, while my SSD is drive C. I did what was said in this guide: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1792156/secondary-harddrive-question.html. However, I forgot to save and back up the registry editor, and instead to modify the data, I renamed the file program things that should have been the names of data. Now, I can't install anything because when I try to open it, it will show an error like that when I try to Open regedit. "C\:Windows\regedit.exe the system could not find the environment option that was entered. I'm sure it's not malware, because I built this pc last night at 90%. I open my browser, steam, etc. that I think because I installed them until I made the mistake with the registry editor.

System Restore can be called in several ways, for example as follows:

    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your system repair CD. If you do not have one, ask a friend to burn you through the control panel / backup and restore. It takes less than five minutes.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the CD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Configure Windows to a point before you hacked the registry.

Recently, my computer has been infected by a variety of viruses and spyware despite my ZoneAlarm and Malwarebyes loaded. I ran several other antivirus and anti-spyware programs and, possibly, these programs don't reported no malware or spyware was present.

I wonder if the above changes are made by a virus who missed the antivirus programs I have used.

I would appreciate any comments, advice or information on the changes above the Microsoft community since Microsoft software is involved in the changes requested. I really appreciated any help that can be given and thank you in advance for it.

Many anti-malware programs make changes to this file association as a way to protect yourself.

Types of files. SCR and. REG were often abused and used to encourage users to run what has proved to be malicious.   Programs change your default Notepad program to protect you.

You will notice that most browsers will run is more .reg files.  Instead they will display the text of the script if it is legitimate.  For a long time Outlook has not allowed to download. SCR files.

WilPatrol will warn you of this change and allow you to change it if you want, but what ever malware program performs this change will continue to try to change it to Notepad.

I usually recommend either using the Filetypes Lockdown feature in WinPatrol or just say WinPatrol does not monitor. SCR and. REG and let your other security program all supported.

  • It is not an option to select the registry editor

original title - same topic-other problem

When double clicked on addspooler.reg & open with is selected, there is no option to the registry editor select. You said there was another way - that was my question. Thanks for any help.

    Also my instructions said:

Alternatively, you can right-click on the "addspooler.reg" file, choose open with... and select the registry editor which will then import the file.  If you double click it and it opens with Notepad, this means that XP (at some point) said to open with notepad .reg files.  This isn't really a problem since you can import the file otherwise.

In your case where you do not see the extension .reg, rather right click the "addspooler" file and choose ' open with... The registry editor "."

Do not double click on the file-it will not work for you.

RIGHT click ON the addspooler.reg file and follow the directions to open with... The registry editor.

Y at - there some problem with these instructions read you them and that it cannot be implemented?

Maybe the message is displayed in white on your end?

Now, it's really the last, finally, finally, the last time that I re-post the instructions.

  • Manager of the registry editor and the task does not not XP clean install

    Hi all

I use Windows Xp professional. As soon as I installed Windows I wanted to see 'Task Manager' and 'the registry editor. But I'm not able to open these two applications.

Whenever I try to run regedit or taskmgr I get this message "task manager / the registry editor" has been blocked by your system administrator.

I tried a few methods such as downloading a file .vbs script that opens the registry editor and also tried to activate it in the gpedit.msc but I'm still not able to do it properly.

Can someone help me on this please?

Enable the Task Manager in Windows XP

    1. start Windows to your habit.

    2. click on 'start '. Then highlight and click on 'run '.

    3. Type "REGEDIT" in the text bar and press "enter."

4 4 naviguer navigate in the registry, locate the following directory: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER-Software-Microsoft-Windows------CurrentVersion------Policies\ system.»

5.right click "HKEY_CURRENT_USER", then click on 'New' from the context menu to include a new string. This is necessary only when the necessary directory is not present in the registry. By default, Windows XP Home Edition does not include the necessary directories chain.

    6. click on the part of the sentence "DisableTaskMgr" and delete it. It's the easiest way to do it, but it makes it harder to fix in the future. You will need to manually reenter the chain if you don't back up first.

7 change the numbers in the Boolean section of the entry from one to zero. This will allow the Task Manager in Windows XP. Note that zero is essentially equivalent to a positive input in this regard, that the original string is a negative.

8 change the string manually in the window "Run" from the Start Menu, without having to access the registry editor. Just type "REG add HKCU/v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0/f" in the text field and press "Enter"...

Please do the above methods and even if it does not work with these processes then mail me... my mail is * address email is removed from the privacy *. am vijay... waitin 4 your rly... try it & IT... It is easy...

  • How can I fix the problems with the registry editor in windows vista?

My computer has been infected by a virus, and now I can't open the Windows Defender Security Center and Windows Firewall. I used Microsoft Security Essentials scan to remove the virus or virus. Now when I run a full scan it comes up clean, but I still have no firewall. I tried to fix this by using the registry editor. Once I got to the stage when I open the BFE (or any file) I get the message that the registry editor has stopped working. How can I fix it? I already tried the System File Checker, and he is unable to solve the problem. I also tried restore of the system several times without success.

When I tried to open the registry editor, he said it has been disabled by the administrator. Well, I am the administrator and I've never disabled anything and I don't know how. Can anyone help.thanks

I also discovered that I can not use the command either line. It is also disabled.

    Hi Mark,
I know that you said you have linked the virus scanners, but this looks like an attack on your registry... or at least the dll that open your registry database.
Did you go back with the restore points?
Sounds like it might be time for a complete wipe and load (format).

  • the registry editor is STILL blocked at startup

    Dear team of Microsoft answers,

After Marilyn link (which I had already gone before first assignment), I always have problems.
Regedit.exe is blocked at startup. It does not automatically start even if it is supposed to in windows defender. I don't want to disable or remove it from startup. Just that it runs automatically at startup I want without me clicking on it to run in the taskbar. I'm also quite capable of editing the registry entries. So if there is an incorrect entry could you tell me where to find it.
Thanks in advance for your help

    camo sandals,

The registry editor is not set to run at startup as a clarification. It is an interface that allows you to edit the keys that specify the features and settings of the programs and services within Windows. Is it possible you're referring to another service or function? Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. You can not. You need to do this via the control panel / accounts of users or via the command prompt. In both cases, you need to be logged in as an administrator account.
