error: theme can be applied to the desktop

Original title:

Windows 7 themes don't be loading not after downloading.

Help... Why do I get "theme can be applied on the desk" during the download of theme? all the themes have been Win 7, I assumed that when I clicked on Win 7 themes.

When I went to the "customization", the available themes that came with the windows were blackened. Example: Architecture, bubbles, etc. Do (13 + MB) downloaded files remain on my hard drive? Thank you.

  • Windows 7 basic theme can only be applied on the desktop

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, serv., 1 pk.  I'm running with the Windows 7 Basic theme, but whenever I try, I get the message "this theme does apply on the desk.".  This is the original Windows 7 basic theme. It is NOT a 3rd party theme. It is not a Windows 7 Starter pack.  It simply does not work.  He ran at some point, but no more (at the same time I have tried a few other themes from the Control Panel, but now, it and ALL of the Aero themes are "grayed out" out on the personalization control panel page).  I can't even try to select here.  I went into the Windows/themes directory to find the base file and double clicked on that.  And got the message noted.  Any help would be appreciated.  All the help I've found talks about running a 3rd party fix but that seems to be 3rd party themes.  This is the Microsoft theme given real deal who DID run at a time.  Thanks for your time.

    Hello

If your computer is connected to a Group Policy administrator may have turned off themes in order to not, users can change the theme. I had the same problem on a laptop computer connected to a network of school, it took me weeks to find a way around it.   follow these steps:

Step 1: Click on start and open Panel.

Step 2: In the Control Panel click on system and security, and then click Administrative Tools

Step 3: In ATools click on Services

Step 4: You must scroll until you find the themesin Services, and then double-click themes

step 5: Start Up Type should say disabled click on it and change it to Automatic

Step 6: Close everything down and restart your laptop for the settings you changed will apply.

    I hope this works

  • My laptop running on VISTA can see my desktop running on XP Media but I can't get to the desktop.

I think the problem is with the firewall on the desktop computer.  I get Windows cannot start the ICS service.  I have reset the winsock.

Using a router or ICS? Is this a new problem or are you unable to put in place the file/printer between two computers share? If the latter:

Here are the steps of general network troubleshooting. Just cannot apply to your situation, so just take the bits that are. It may seem daunting, but if you follow the steps in the links and suggestions below calmly and consistently, you will have no difficulty to implement your sharing.

Excellent, comprehensive, but easy to understand article on sharing files/printer under Vista. Contains information about sharing printers and files, and the folders:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx

For XP, start by running the Network Setup Wizard the on all machines (see warning in section A below).

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, it means which allows file sharing / print on the Exceptions tab normally run the XP Network Setup Wizard will take care of this for these machines. The only "witch hunt", it will turn on the XPSP2 Windows Firewall. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    (C) in Vista, turn on password protected sharing. Create accounts of users and corresponding passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this:

XP - set up Windows to automatically connect (MVP Ramesh) - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm

Vista - Start ORB > Search > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

    D. Si one or more of the computers is XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

    E. create share as you wish. XP Home does not share the users directory or the Program Files, but you can share folders inside those directories. A better choice is to simply use the Shared Documents folder. See the first link above for more information on Vista sharing. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • When I try to update I get a U44M1I210, "Unable to extract the downloaded files" error message - help please, apply to the latest Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop CC

When I try to do a CC update I get an error message U44M1I210, "failed update - impossible to extract the downloaded files. Try to press to redownload again. (U44M1I210) ' - help please - re-don't download makes no difference, applies to the latest Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop CC, others seem to be updated without problems. I can see the disk image files in the AAMUpdater folder, but they will not open and come up with message ' could not be opened - busy resource.

Another thing that makes everything work ultimately (after I finally properly installed all Apps CC etc - I couldn't get the Apps to save my preferences for each of them and Indesign would not open yet).

Make yourself as a user in the users and groups on "Admin", is added and with privileges "read and write" and "Apply to the clos etc.", when you 'get Info' on the hard drive if you can access/modify all the files and folders on the hard drive.

  • Can't bookmark on the desktop

I asked this before. Still have no answer. When I drag a bookmark on the desktop, it changes the Web site icon to the generic box with 6 bullets by default. I clicked and nothing happens. This has happened recently. I don't know if it is in conjunction with an update of Firefox, but I remember something else, the size of the boxes in the page tabs. I used to get 9 of them in the new tab page, now I get 6. Don't know what is happening with anyone.

Can someone please help? I think a file association problem? Thanks in advance

I'll leave the thread open for your question on the page of the new tab with the tiles.

  • Why Adobe can't get out the desktop versions of their software on the iPad Pro? [was: failed to get the 'real' work]

Help! I have a session of really expensive iPad 128 GB Pro in front of me, but you guys have not released a full version of your Creative Suite like Photoshop and Illustrator applications. So, I can't do anything more drawing freehand with a pencil of Apple, surf the web, write emails, play games, etc.

Your companion apps are great and all. But I want to do my work ON the iPad. I don't want to have to deal with the concern to understand what can be done on the iPad, and what I can do this only on Mac because I deal with the companion applications.

You are geniuses. So are the guys at Apple. You both have had a long-standing relationship since the time that I first played with Photoshop in black and white on my Fat Mac (512 k). Why Adobe (and other software publishers, for that matter) cannot release their software on the iPad Pro versions of office?

I know, I know. Experts say: ' just go buy a darn Mac already! But, look. That's life. People want to use the computing device they want to use. I mean, it's not as if Apple did not promote the iPad Pro as a desktop machine class. And, it's not like Adobe and Apple released were not closely related to decacdes...

If you build it, they will come. Apple built the iPad Pro. People came and bought. A lot of them, actually. And, if you search the internet for it, you'll find a slew of messages and articles where people are clamboring for serious on the iPad Pro tools so that the promise of Apple class office can be achieved.

Now, it's your turn, Adobe. Lead the charge! You have the resources. Build it now for we, the faithful, we move.

p.s. Thanks for making of amazing tools that have helped feed me and put a roof over my head for decades, now. A lot of love.

p.p.s. thank you for leting leads me.

    Hello

Short story. An 'iPad Pro"have not enough power to run Adobe software as similar to the desktop computer.

That said, some "desktop computer" not all have the ability to run software from Adobes 100% of their potential.

You must "wind" in the Apple forums.

  • How to set up the Alt - Tab key so that it can take you on the desktop as well?

Now I can only switch between different applications. Thanks for your help!

    Hi yelvsusesu,

In Windows XP, you don't have to use the Alt + Tab key to display the desktop.

This feature is called Flip 3D, which is part of the Windows Aero in Windows vista experience and systems Windows 7 operating.

Here are the options available in Windows XP to show the desktop.

    • Press the Windows key + D logo on your keyboard.
    • Right-click on the Windows task bar and then click show the desktop or click Show open windows.

  • xp license can be transferred to the desktop for laptop

I have an office installed with XP Home (purchased separately - cd), now I want to buy a laptop and would like to transfer my XP license for old office laptop, can a guide it is possible. What is the process?

If it is a retail Windows XP CD (which it seems to be) then just install on the laptop and turn it on, that's what he is.  Legally, you are not allowed to install on several computers, so to comply with this EULA, you would need to remove it from the desktop computer, to remove an operating system you format the drive hosting the BONE, it goes without saying that all the files on the disk will be lost when you format it.

The retail license transfer is really not a problem, it will be the least of your problems!  Perhaps your problem is that there is no driver available for the new XP computer laptop so that you might not be able to run correctly with Windows XP.  By their nature notebooks are built with hardware owner, if the manufacturer of the laptop has not designed the laptop to Windows XP support, they provide no drivers for it and it will be almost impossible to find the other drivers.  You might have more luck if you buy a portable class business and not the cheapest destined to consumers, usually mobile phones intended for business customers are likely to be the only new likely to have Windows XP support.

This really isn't my business, but I think you should go and accept Windows 7, Windows XP is on its last leg, after the operating system is now 10 years old and long out-of-standard support.  Like it or not Windows 7 wins wide acceptance and much new hardware and software is designed to take advantage of the new technologies that are not supported by the Windows XP now for 10 years.

You should consider your options carefully before begin you this project of installation of Windows XP on your new laptop computer, ask the manufacturer whether they support it.  Also consider whether or not you want to restrict or limit your options when it comes to the use of the new hardware and software.  A better alternative would be to buy a laptop with a Windows 7 license professional and install Windows XP mode/Virtual PC top.  Also remember that Windows 7 Professional is provided with Downgrade rights to Windows XP Professional and that the seller of the laptop can support this facility and do it for yourself, who will continue to way you won't have to bother with that and your current Windows XP license valid for use on any other computer.

Do first #1. Healing as possible.
    1. If this problem is less than 15 days, and if you remember a good date when he did not have this problem, please do a system restore. Choose this good date as your restore point.
Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

  • Windows 7 pro 64. The desktop icons won't stay where I put them. After a reboot, the desktop icons are always rearranged.

I've set up my office while I have the following icons down the left side of the top in the following order: computer, network, System (C), (D) options, reader of DVD (E), trash.

Whenever I restart my computer, the icons are rearranged as: computer, network, trash, reader of DVD (E), options (D), System (C).

I don't want to add all the new icons on the desktop, because I know they won't stay where I put them. When I was using XP it would happen only when I changed resolution but with Win 7, it happens every time that I reboot.

Reorganization of auto desk is off, snap to grid is turned off, sort by has verified. I use two monitors. All the gadgets that I have in my hand right 2ndary monitor are stay in place very well. The icons gives me the problem are on the left side of the left main screen.

I made an image of my hard drive just after the installation of windows 7 and before to install the drivers of manufacturers and updates of windows.

Today, I restored this image, reinstalled the drivers from manufacturers and made the updates of windows. The problem seems to have disappeared now.

I am re-imaging my hard drive after you install the complete driver/updating. I hope I don't need to use it, but I will if I have to. I still don't know what caused it in the first place, but at least now I have an option of fast food if it happens again. I'll recreate the image on the hard drive after all major software install from that time, I have two images. A fundamental right after pilot installations and one after each installation of software.
