  No, it isn't - unless the operating system was installed on this drive AND the system in question, that it won't work as a bootable drive.

  Unplug the system, remove or disconnect the battery and hold the power for 30 seconds approximately.  Turn on and re-run the diagnostic tests - if the same error appears again, the drive is bad.  Replace it.

  I have a Dell Dimension 2400 running Windows XP which is about 4 years old now (everything is oem with the exception of the upgraded RAM from 256 MB to two 512 MB, mark PNY installed about 6 months ago). Recently my computer started to go to a blue screen saying "a problem has been detected and windows should now order to avoid damaging your computer equal not less or equal...". Technical information: STOP: x00000000A (0x00000002, 0x00000000 0x00000020, 0x804F9F45) the beginning of physical memory dump... ' etc. (the blue screen is shifted to the left, it is difficult to read everything). The BOS came intermittently, and after a reboot, it was fine, but it started to get worse and now returns immediately when Windows starts. When the windows would be fine I couldn't use a lot of programs (virus scan or anything that required for access to the files, I could also not download anything), because it says that the files were corrupt.

  I thought that my hard drive has failed or got a virus. I was not too concerned by the loss of what was on the hard drive. So I thought that I could by a new hard drive and start-up costs. I bought a western digital caviar is 250 GB. I installed and tried to boot from the CD that came with the new HD and reinstalled operating system CD dell (I entered the Setup menu to change the boot sequence for the CD first). It cannot start. It says press F1 to retry or F2 to go together to the top. Maybe I have other problems with the CD-rom, motherboard, or? However, everything worked well before the BOS began to appear. I've tried everything I can think of (which is not much, because I know little about this sort of thing). I'm getting very frustrated with it and appreciate any help that could be offered.   Last week to 10 days, I received lots of calls from someone called PC Support (which sound as if they come from the India) telling me that they want to access my PC to show me the problems that are reported to them from my ISP about something and real operating system Windows on the license key is about to expire.

  I suspect that it is a new scam to try to sell the product, anti-virus/malware any... but it got me wondering whether or not it is a real-world scenario.

  Arrrrgh!  Had a terrible time trying to get the scanner function works on my Epson Stylus CX7000F.

  The job of printer/copier/fax end but not go on the scanner.

  I tried the 'fixes' to epson.com repeatedly with no luck.  This includes their reccomendation uninstall/install several times, trying even to this process in safe mode and clean boot the.

  I ran the program to 'fix' Microsoft ATS with no luck.  It has detected the error and said that the problem has been resolved, but guess what?  No, it isn't.

  I clicked on install update driver/driver from Device Manager.

  I tried the work around, eliminating the "LowerFilters" of the registry.  Guess what?  You have it, no luck.

  So, before I go and buy a new printer/scanner, with no guarantee that they will work.  Does anyone have another suggestion?

  You can also try and replace or install the ntprint.inf file.

  I had a similar problem on a Windows 7 PC and noticed that this file was not present.  I just copied the file from a different PC Win7.  The printer, I tried to install was a Brother MFC-J410w.
