Estimated time of a process

Hello.

I am currently implementing my existing Labview Code from LabVIEW 2014 in the Suite of communication. I use in my receiver and transmitter of parallel structure multiple while loops to deal simultaneously with data (for example, estimation of channel in a loop) and demodulation in another loop. In LabVIEW, I used the high resolution timer to see how much time each queue takes to process its information so that I can observe what queue can take some optimization and find the limit of bandwidth. I find nothing in the Suite of Design of communication system suitable for this task. All avaible timers are not suitable for us time spans.

Any idea on how to solve this problem? I am open to any workaround.

Concerning

Hello EtuelDue,

Stephan is correct.

Unfortunately, there are no available in LabVIEW Communications timing engine, which can run the microsecond resolution. You might be able to implement a moving average of 1000 iterations in order to estimate the rate per iteration. This will allow you to maintain the calculation when running, but will offer no instant rates.

Many people believe that Windows cannot actually run microsecond resolution, even if the motherboard has a microsecond dedicated synchronization engine. This is due to the lack of determinism in Windows. We can not guarantee that the process will not be suspended temporarily while the anti-virus or Firewall works causing a large amount of fluctuation in the calendar.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Kind regards

• "Movie Maker" estimated time remaining "continues to go to the top

I made several videos to movie maker in the last two weeks. However, it is the longest (16 minutes). All are the same format (wmv). I have xp pro, service of acer extensa 4420 computer laptop pack 3 dual core processor 1.90 ghz, 1.75 g of ram.

After editing my video with video clips and background music I click on save to computer (recommended) in the format wmv, same destination as other videos. But when I click Save it never gives me... 15% all the "estimated time remaining". 5 minutes". The remaining time still to go upward and upward and upward, never back down and record my video.

Spent several days here working on this project and would not start again with another program. Is there the codecs or plug-ins, I may be missing?

All the video wmv format, all the sound elements are mp3 that I use.

Thank you people!

The problem you describe usually happens when the
source files are not compatible with Movie Maker.

The solution is to convert the source files for a
compatible format before importing them into Movie Maker.

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

Photos - bmp
Video - wmv
Audio - wav, wma, wmv

Since your music files. MP3, which would be the
place to start... try converting them to the. WMA
the format and re-import them in Movie Maker.

There are many converters available on the net... the

left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
are converted)

Drag and drop your music files on the main screen...

Select "while"WMA"/ OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

That should do it...

If the problem persists... you can have one or more
corrupt. WMV files.

In many cases, I found that convert a. WMV file
to the. WMV format could produce a new version of the
compatible file. Sounds redundant, I know, but it
can work.

Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 can perform the conversion.

Download Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) (freeware)

Also... it can depending on the version of Movie Maker...

If you want to try Expression Encoder 4 following
info can be useful:

Start Microsoft Expression Encoder 4
(Start / programs / Microsoft Expression /)
Microsoft Expression Encoder 4)

On the "Load a new project" screen...
Left click... "Transcoding project '...

When the program opens, click on... File / import...

Left click (highlight) the. Left and WMV file, click the Open button.

You will see the file in the "Multimedia content" pane

In the right column... left click on the tab "Output"...

Open the drop directory window and choose an output folder.
(This is where you will find your converted file)

On the left, click on the button "encode".

Wait... video encoding CPU intensive and can
be a slow process. It is always best if you do not have
multi-task while files are encoded.

• Sat - M70: estimated time remaining on battery

I ve just bought a Satellite M70-144 and have a question about running on battery

When you use a stack operating on remaining battery time is displayed as a percentage in Toshiba Power Saver. On my old Toshiba laptop and other portable I ve used, the remainder of the battery is also displayed in estimated number of hours and minutes.

Is this a general feature of the M70 and is there a way to fix this?

Hello

As far as I know if you want to see the working time of the battery if you must unplug the power adapter. Wait a moment and go with the courier on the battery.
The small window with working time should appear.
If you see no information at the first time so try again.

• Timer & events system process

I usually use a "smart" delay dealing with the events, but I wanted to use a thread separate to process system events. Wording of menchar here, I feel that using a timer, it is automatically in a different thread. Is this true?

A timer from asynchrous (in fact, all the timers async for a given process) runs on a common, separate thread. A 'ordinary' timer is a Panel control that will run a reminder on the thread which instructed the Group of experts.

Events system includes GUI events as I understand it, and these can be worked on the thread that the Committee. Thus, on the face of it, you do not want to process system events using a 'regular' timer, not an asynchronous timer.

I don't know exactly what will happen that if you did a process system events on an asynchronous callback to timer on its separate thread - some things may work, others might not.

In the old days, CVI had a "processGUIevents" function, which was different from the function of "handle system events". I don't know if CVI maintains this distinction much longer.

I don't use a timer to make a smart delay, I put the thread to sleep and not the timing, rescheduling the thread after some time operating system. You do not have a problem, unless you happen precisely set the 'smart' delay in a separate thread (a you created explicitly, or the CVI runtime provided thread timer async) and not expect to update the GUI, you have loaded on another thread. I intend the delay "smart" to be used only from the main thread - which is the point of it, it allows the process to sleep but will react to user on the GUI input within a short time.

It seems that the delay NOR will be spinlock, at least in some situations, and NEITHER was told that they treat events from the system during this period, at least in certain situations. So, using the Delay(), NEITHER would have the same issues if use you some other thread than the thread that has loaded a GUI you are using.

If your application does not have a graphical interface, there is no problem to use the smart delay on any thread, that I shouldn't think.

I hope this helps.

Memo

Hi Memo

Not sure I've ever seen it 2-3 seconds (past), and I worked on some sites with substantial material.

40 seconds isn't too bad.

Also consider this. If it's the first payroll run for an assignment given in the tax year then there will be a certain amount of overhead recovery with initialization balance etc. This is true for pay normal works as well - the first run in a new tax year will have a more runtime due to the way in which the dimensions of assessment of the tax year are 'reset' etc.

Most people would probably not use Express to treat someone through several consecutive periods of treatment, but if you have a test/development environment you might run your first Express for an assignment and then move on to the next pay period and run a later Express. I expect there will be an improvement in the run for the second time (assuming that its still in the same tax year :))

I'm running a database in Oracle forms procedure, which takes about 12-15 minutes to get 70,000 transactions. is it possible to get about execution time of the procedure of any data dictionary view.

Remember that, by default v$ session_longops, as its name indicates, monitors of long-term LDAP. This isn't the same thing as running transactions. A transaction that launches a complete table of 1 million rows table scan may appear; a proceduree seeking 1 million reads indexed probably will not.

However, if you want to follow the progress of the procedure, and you don't have a record in place infrastructure to do this, you can use [DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO.
