  No you're not missing something. This currently limits for Muse. It is a relatively new feature that I am confident will grow as Muse is changing.

  I have a cluster with ESX 4 nodes running HA. I want to know if it is possible for vmotion to migrate a virtual computer if the host on which it lives has a loss of fiber optic connectivity to SAN/back-end storage. I can get VMotion to work when I go unplug the Ethernet cable to the back of the esx host, but when I unplug the fiber connections that will freeze the virtual machine and no migration will happen. Is it possible to do this with VMotion HA? I also tried to use aggressive DRS to see if when I unplug the fiber it lose connectivity and a loss of memory or cpu and migrate... so not happened... the vm always reports to vCenter that memory and cpu have not changed... then DRS don't not kick to migrate the virtual machine.

  There is no such thing for HA. HA only fires when there is a host or a network isolation fails. DRS also does not realize this. However, there are a lot of events that can trigger an action such as "maintenance mode". don't know if there is a for the failures of way, just check it out. • In migration node ESX 3.5 VMOTION behavior

  I have ten knots in my main ESX cluster and VMotion is enabled.

  I just want to know what exactly the behavior of vmotion if I start to migrate an ESX 3.02 node to 3.5u5?

  Is the behavior of vmotion is to migrate all virtual machines on that node to another and after re - import on the node with 3.5?

  I can do without stopping my VMs?

  Put the host in maintenance mode, this means that the host will not be used until it has been upgraded. as soon as the host is removed from maintenance mode DRS will start migration of virtual machines back. If you have any DRS enabled on your cluster.

  Ah, good, so if you had a monitor, keyboard and mouse attached you want to see ESX start and then to automatically launch a virtual computer that appears on the screen and you would not see to hear of ESX after that? If so, the answer is no, you can do that.

  May I ask why you want that to happen? If you set the computer virtual to run automatically at startup of the ESX host and then the only time where you not be able to access it is until he is ready to accept applications for network - unless you use VC client and you would be able to see the full boot sequence. From the point of view of infrastructure, it is the same as any other network server-based, the other servers and services can not access to the sound on the network.

  Recently, we have built a new vSphere 5.1 environment and installing vShield endpoint Manager 5.1.2 - 943471.

  Installed the endpoint on the hosts and the Kapersky Security Appliances to each host. I started to migrate virtual environment 4.1 existing to the new environment.

The endpoint vSheild Manager reports that the thin driver is installed on all but a few virtual methods that are not reported by the slim agent vShield as Manager.   I checked each guest to ensure that the driver has been installed and running using msinfo32 and are looking for the driver vfilefilter it checked good also I can confirm that virtual methods are running supported SCSI adapters. Something else to check?

  Just a update for it tried a few other servers and they they also have same problem. Have uninstalled and reinstalled vmware tools with the vshield driver installed, but still do not see the virtual server.

  You can mix standard switches and distributed, that's what we call hybrid architecture... but to be able to migrate virtual machines between virtual switches, you must the vSphere 6 and again there are some limitations, like not be able to migrate from VDS vs.

  I'm quite new to ESX so I decided to give it a try by installing nested within VMWare Worktation 10 for Linux.

  My CPU is an i7-4960 x with 64 GB of RAM so VT-x/EPT gone automatically. 16GB gives ESX.

  Networking configured, also some systems of NFS files, the Datacenter newly created for storage (exported from my base OS Ubuntu 13.10) and attached my virtual ESX (via vCenter appliance).

  What's weird is that I tried to create a Windows 2008 R2 VM in ESX, but the installation does not start a "unsupported operation" appears on the management of web vshere.

  I'm stuck here, trying to find a reason for this.

  I would be really happy if someone out there could help me solve this puzzle.

  Instead of reconfiguring HA on the concerned host, have you tried to disable HA on the cluster and enable again? See: VMware KB: State of the virtual machine changes from protected to Unprotected

  Will VM probably run on ESXi 6 without modification. There may be a few exceptions where some minor modifications may be required however.

  In any case, you can migrate the virtual machine with VMware Converter making a V2V conversion (2 virtual), export the virtual computer to an OVF on the former host and import it on the new, or - depending on your method of backup and application - use your last backup and restore it on the new host.

  He's going to cross and clone the virtual machine, and looks like he's running of the OSCustomizaitonSpec then it bombards.  It cleans bad VM.  Recent tasks shows "failed virtual machine clone that a specified parapeter was not correct." hostname ".

  The problem is that I don't mean to set a hostname with the OSCustomixationSpec, I try only to IP address info.

  You can be more selective about the current jobs. For example, you can check if the name of the job shows that they are actually cloning jobs.

  The problem does not appear, if PH 13 items is run in administrator mode.

  The available computer resources are rather big enough: INTEL CPU i7 4 cores, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD + 32 GB SSD, Windows 8.1.

  I had this problem with some of the choices menu in PSE13 when my drive to work was only a SSD with 53 GB of free space. I assigned a second disc of work (my data disc with ~ 2 TB of free space) and the error disappeared.

  Scratch disk settings can be found under preferences / Performance.

  I have a single large 100 GB Windows 2003 R2 Oracle DB Virtual Machine [name = set].  Everything has been fine for years.  For the past 3 months we used IVMS to break the NFS volume, and everything was fine.  Then, for some reason, we started running out of space and have to increase the NFS volume by nearly 100 GB.  An inspection further, I note that this VM resulted, for some reason, some new files in the FOLDER of the virtual machine.

  My question is:

  How can I get rid of these extra files from the VDMK (00001 and 0002), it is 86 GB, how the hell did this happen?

  I removed to stuck VMWARE snapshot that took awhile!

  Yes - but do not delete the files manually, of course. Use snapshotmanagers function 'clear '.
