  Hello, I have a laptop G2 of 255 HP that I bought last year. The pc came with windows 8 is installed, then when I tried to install windows 7 64 bit, I noticed the hard drive was GPG encrypted so I had to open the laptop and remove the hard disk to get back into shape with another computer. That's happened. I installed windows 7 but I noticed the ony driver that does not work is the network controller driver. I have internet in the computer via a USB flash, but now I need to use my wireless internet access instead. So I downloaded all the drivers of my laptop but it does not work so I wonder if the network adapter is broken. In each network card I saw on laptops there are the cables from the card to the motherboard. A white cable and the black cable but this laptop has a black cable. So I don't know what the problem is. Any ideas?

  Hello. I have a HP Pavillion Slimline S5310y

  I had a power surge, the PSU burnt and a few weeks ago. I replaced it with ATHENA AP-MTFX-30 and authorities on the good and everything works. However, I couldn't connect to the internet. It connects using a basic connection but it doesn't seem to be able to connect to my FIOS internet. The ethernet cable looks fine and the light is green, where it is plugged and shows the connection of the modem. I thought maybe that the computer needed to be restored. I did a restore back to factory settings and it still does not recognize.

  I am able to open internet explorer, but I ALWAYS get an error such as "this site could be dangerous" or something like that. I click on continue and it takes me to the page. However, I am unable to videos or download chrome or anything else. I get an error message saying that I am not connected to the internet. It's very strange.

  Suggestions anyone please? I am at a loss here. Thank you for your help.

  I am pleased to announce that all works perfectly now. But it's a weird tiny simple solution that did it. I went through every step that you gave me and it didn't fix the problem. I had already done a restore to factory before even to communicate with you, but I went ahead and did it again. The following error message whenever I open IE so I did another search on google. It turns out that (for some reason any) my clock was given to the year 2002 and that once it was OK should solve the problem. I was skeptical but I looked and my clock said 2002. I went and fixed the problem and put in the correct date and year. AND EVERYTHING WORKED PERFECTLY. I am able to connect without any problem, including everything that I need to download.

  I can't thank you enough for all your help. You went above and beyond to help me through this. I was ready to give up and buy a new computer. Now my old computer works as if it was new again. Thank you once again!

  I have this problem as well. My crush to the ethernet adapter was working yesterday, but now I have not been able to run all day. I even tried everything said in this thread: ImtiazThunderbolt Ethernet does not work after upgrade to Yosemite , you should try what is in the thread, as it has worked for some people.

  In your case, I would first check device manager if the network card has been installed and recognized properly.

  try reinstalling power management, the default settings of the bios and also try this:

  Right click on my computer > manage > device management > network cards > select ethernet adapter > properties > under power management tab, clear the check box to be able to save "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

  Restart your computer and check if it works.

  Today, I had this same problem with a d220 MT (in fact, I found this entry when you seek a solution ), and the fix was so simple it was embarrassing. The driver download sp25326.exe install just the installer. After you run it, you must go to c:\swsetup\sp25326 and run setup.exe. After that, your card should work. at least it worked for me.
