Everything on screen is stretched

Original title: screen, images and icons are stretched too wide. I tried almost everything...

Just loaded Windows 7 today and the display is too wide and expandable. Even the windows of internet explore are stretched and it hurts my eyes. I have went into the display options and changed the resolution. I adjusted the fonts. I tried the different wallpaper settings. I have entered in the Solution Explorer and have adjusted the zoom and text sizes. He still does not look good.

Someone said a video driver? What should I do here. Thanks for the help!

Hello

The screen resolution is defined by the size of the screen. Width x height.

Example: 1280 x 960

You just need to select a resolution that either has a smaller width in numbers with the same number of height, or a larger number of height with the same number of width.

Examples: 1280 x 1024, or 1152 x 960

Note: Your available resolutions may vary according to the map chart and monitor resolutions supported.

You must always keep the drivers for the graphics card installed to date. Check with the computer manufacturer or the manufacturer of the graphics card for the latest drivers.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for using Windows 7

    Hello

    Horizontal control of your screen is turned off or you are using a screen on a standard monitor resolution.

    Using the controls of the monitor on the screen itself, try to reduce the horizontal display, so that it fits on the screen.

    If it's not her, then go to the settings/display/personalization in the control panel and adjust the slider to resolution one that best fits your screen.

  • Screen is stretched

    I don't know how exactly to my question.  I found questions similar to mine.  But as I'm not everything in terms of technology, it is difficult for me to jump in and follow the instructions.
    I'm going to start I have a Dell Inspiron w / Vista Basic for OS.  This morning when I turned on my computer, the box and the icon who request my password seemed big enough.  So when I got to my office, the Dell dock looked as big as a large desk and icons.  Same thing with Solution Explorer.  I went at the start > Control Panel > appearance and personalization > adjust screen resolution.  There was an icon of a screen with a cursor where I could choose one of the two low 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 high.  I could have sworn that, initially, he had two choices.
    The background pic was also strained.  I had the background image defined at the choice of the third, so that there would be black on the left and right sides.  I tried to reset the background image.  It was the first choice.  When I've reset the third choice, it's way smaller, but still tense.

    I think it's to do two things.  A few days ago I wanted to listen to the radio online.  But the site of local stations said that I needed to download the Firefox browser, then make sure the station my homepage on Firefox, so I have to download Winamp player to listen to the radio online.  Because I downloaded the Winamp that has become my default for TV streaming online.  Yesterday, that I tried to change the default behavior to Windows Media Player.  Everything seemed fine.  So today, I tried to uninstall the player and plug-ins for Winamp, hoping that would restore things.  I didn't uninstall anything more, because I was afraid I might lose some things that are important.  Now when I watch TV on Windows Media, it begins with a super small image.  When I develop the screen size, the picture is very very fuzzy.
    The other thing maybe last night when I shut down my computer I think I closed the screen until you turn it off completely.  Because I noticed that even after I close the screen the Poser light performed yet.  Now when I close the screen constantly, nothing disappears.

    I know it was good, and I think I can remember stuff, but if someone is willing to help, please do.  Also, when I try to view my photos, they are horribly stretched.

    Kathy

    Hi Kathy Keen,

    First of all, I would say that you uninstall the driver of graphics card on the computer and then visit the manufacturer site graphics card then download and install the updated driver for graphics card and check if all goes well.

    How to uninstall the driver for the graphics card on the machine.

    1. click on Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.
    2. click the tab hardware , and then click Device Manager.
    NOTE: If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click continue.
    3. click on Displayadapters to expand.
    4. under the terms of graphics card, double-click the entry for your graphics card, and then click the driver tab.
    5. click on uninstall
    6. follow the wizard to uninstall to uninstall the graphics driver.

  • I just had a new hard drive installed (with XP), and no matter where I set the resolution, everything seems to be stretched horizontally

    I just had a new hard drive installed with XP, and no matter what I set the resolution to, everything now looks stretched horizontally.  I don't have this problem with the old hard drive containing XP

    If you did a clean installation of XP, then you must install the hardware drivers for your components. Go to the website of the manufacturer of your PC, then download and install the latest Windows XP drivers for your model.

  • everything on screen has expand

    everything on my screen got rained from boxes at the bottom of the screen, the text and the toolbar. You will be abel to say I am new to computers, so I don't know what to do, I know that it is not the zoom. Everything on the screen looks like graphs of 1980 of (large and just a little fuzzy) .i have run scans and there seems to be no problem, I think it could be some kind of settings, maybe I changed, but I don't have any idea, its driving me crazy please help.

    Hello

    Right-click on an empty part of your desktop, and then click Properties. Click on the settings tab, drag the slider to the right. This should give the native resolution of your monitor. If not you may need to get the latest drivers for the graphics card.

    If that makes things too small, you can try to slide to the left to get a lower resolution but I suggest using only a resolution that maintains the same ratio as the native resolution of your screen.

    Tricky

  • Extra-large everything on screen (except the background photo).

    All my icons, the pointer arrow and the background are HUGE!  I selected Classic icons and small DPI without result.  Please send a solution to change everything on my screen back to normal size.

    Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If the above does not fix it:
    Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.
    Then:
    Change the screen resolution
    Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.
  • Monitor screen is stretched horizontally and become Concave past look at a capacity
    I need help to fix my monitor screen. It extended horizontally to the place where about an inch and 1/2 on each side is behind the frame of the screen. A few times I've managed to fix it by clicking on restore previous computer..., but he was keen to return to the concave screen stretched. I've read about perhaps needing a new driver etc. I don't know what it is. I have Windows 7 Professional. The monitor is not the type of flat screen. Help, please? Thank you!
    Hello
    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
    2. What is the brand and model of the computer?
    3. is the question happens while accessing a particular application?
    Try the following and see if it helps.
    Method 1:
    I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the display driver and check if it helps.
    Uninstall:
    a. Click Start, type devmgmt.msc in the start search box and press ENTER.
    (b) in Device Manager, expand the display driver.
    c. right-click on the display driver and select the option uninstall.
    d. restart the computer and then install the latest drivers from the manufacturing site and check if that helps.
  • How can I configure to print small on Yahoo email, so that everything fits screen?
    Yahoo mail worked fine, but suddenly print to the screen is too large, making it difficult to read the e-mails. In addition, the screen type of moves backwards (from left to right and back). I had no problems until the installation of Firefox 42. I received a message on "pixells", which I think I have neglected. How I would fix them and what size?
    Because on the screen, the best way to adjust the size is to use the zoom feature. In the application menu (accessed by using the menu '3-bar' key), it generally controls that look like this:
    - | 100% | +
    -Reduced the size of the text, the + increases the size of the text, and if the number Center otherwise 100%, clicking on it will reset the zoom to 100%.
    The corresponding keyboard shortcuts for Mac are:
    • Control + - to reduce
    • Control ++ to increase
    • Command + 0 (that's a zero) to reset
    Does make a difference?
    Firefox has a setting for what is called the device pixels, but if you have only a problem on one or more websites, then I wouldn't because it is a global setting.
    Hello
    2 things you can try:
    1.
    try a restore of the system before this happened
    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm
    If necessary do in safe mode
    Windows Vista
    Using the F8 method:
    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.
    2.
    try to get your site in manufacturere graphics or computer cards and find the driver download section
    Search your computer or graphics card model number based on what you have and download and install the latest graphics drivers for vista
    THEN try to make the screen of solution of problems
    For example, 640 × 480 is a lower screen resolution, and 1600 × 1200 is higher. CRT monitors generally display a resolution of 800 × 600 or 1024 × 768. LCD monitors can better support the higher resolutions. If you can increase your screen resolution depends on the size and capability of your monitor and the type of video card you have.
