  I could really use some help.  Out of nowhere my command-z has stopped working.  It turns out that, undo/redo are both disabled.  I have come other forums for the answer, but have received no solution.   Of course these rather random and stupid things always happen when an important deadline looms.

  Can anyone help?  Using OSX v10.11.6 and I work on a Mac Pro with a 3.7 GHz Quad Core with 64 GB of memory with a lot of storage space on all my drives.  I work with external systems for storage and production of projects/libraries and keep my own house with plenty of space empty.

  Glad you stuck with this issue cuz I pulled a real boner trying to fix. I was totally distraught on the main menu of * two * UNDO and REDO. If you remember that I tried to install the menu shortcut for UNDO them and REDO and totally rejected the idea that they might be under Edit on the crazy Main Menu which of course, they have been and worked like a charm. THANKS again man, you are a true hero!

  Hello, I'm just "passing" in a manner of speaking, and it really depends on the extent of your problem.  As there is no way to make the configuration that I know, there are a few options that allows you to undo the changes he made.     If it has installed software shaded an unknown source or something like that, then I would recommend a refresh or a reboot of the system, because it may contain a virus.  Both include reinstalling Windows, but they are relatively easy and should only take a 1-3 hours after my experience, especially because you have a fast computer (I own one).  An update is easier and probably easier to apply in your case, because it uninstalls all programs and resets all settings (don't quote me on that one).  But if it comes from certain programs installed and changed a few settings, then you can simply create a new account and delete the old.  Which allows to uninstall all applications in store Windows and you can choose your settings again.

  Directions for resetting Windows (latest version with update of the anniversary (it is probably not very different in old windows 10 is)): reinstalls the operating system and replace the hard drive.  Start - Settings - updates and security - recovery - restart now, then you should see an option with reset wrote under the title.  Follow it until you see a screen that has a button to recycle your PC.  If you do not just take a picture of it and send it to me.

  Sorry, but you cannot save installed Service Packs.

  They must be re-downloaded and installed again.

  If you have problems when you reinstall, follow these steps.

  Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

  Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, first of all the installation of SP1.

• Activation of Aero without redoing the entire theme

  Years ago I switched on the 'Windows' classic theme, then customized a lot of things.

  Now, I think I would try to activate Aero again because I don't remember why I disabled it other that something bothered me.

  However, the only way I found via search to do this is to change the entire theme by clicking on one of the "Aero Themes", which resets all my fonts and other settings. I can get it by clicking on my custom theme.

  Is there another way to activate the effects Aero Glass without changing everything as my tweaks to the font sizes on used in various things, my selection of wallpapers, custom, sounds that I attributed, colors of window, etc.?

  All the things that I get by searching say goto customize and choose the theme Aero in Windows 7. Either that, or use the Troubleshoot utility that also resets the theme.

  In XP, all the effects could be adjusted individually, they were not a packaged deal. How to activate Aero without spending at least an hour redoing my semi-custom theme?

  Hello MSFT sensi.
  I need help. I have the Microsoft Natural ergonomic 4000 keyboard with IntelliType 8.15 64-bit for Windows 7 installed. I run on a brand new i7 with 9 GB of ram and 1 TB of hard drive.  I just installed Office 2010.  Have you tested this keayboard with Office 2010?

  I bought and returned 2 of these keyboards at my local dealer and two keyboards have the same problem. Preconfigured keys (help, undo, redo, new, open, close, reply, fwd, send, spell, save and print) F1 - F12 do function not all as they are indicated in MS Word 2010 etc. I was able to program my favorites 1-5 with little problem.

  I did the following to try to resolve the problem:
  1. research of virus (clean)
  2. uninstalled the driver and downloaded the last strand 8.15 64
  3 entered the keyboard layout configuration and reset the default settings
  4 tried to manually program the F1 - F12 function keys

  NONE of these things solve the problem.  Which brings me to the conclusion that this keyboard does not have to be 100% compatible with Office 2010.

  Any suggestions / feature of configuration problems feature keys?

  PS. No, I didn't record this keyboard, because is it not there no solution - he goes back to the retailer.

  I have a few questions:

  -J' looked at Oracle alertlog and lgwr trace for alarm period but file I saw nothing of Oracle in them. How/where to check if Oracle warned on this subject?

  -Is a problem writing in newspapers of recovery or a problem of redo buffer?

  I do not think that oracle could write anything in the alert for writing redo log is slow.  Since it is a deviation from normal alarm, you can watch the activity at this time and also waiting for disk queuing (response of the disk write time) during this period.  It's maybe just a case where you have more activity than usual update/insert causing higher than usual waiting for recovery.  Or you can have disk contention where residence your recovery logs.

  If your users are complaining about slow at 15:00 then look at what is happening on the system at this point in time.  Use the Active Session history, providing that you have the license, at 3 pm to see if there is a problem.  Or take snapshots of the AWR manually around 15:00 in an attempt to capture any anomaly.  Or capture instant V$ SESSION yourself manually around 15:00 and see so many sessions is pending or not.

  I have seen problems like this on shared physical infrastructure systems where the activity on a system can interfere with each other.  Attention to this kind of thing, because if it is caused by another system then you will never find the cause of the problem inside the Oracle.  Examples include backups are made at a specific time, causing large amounts of sequential disk i/o and slows down access to the drive for everything else.  Such a scenario could cause some writing redo log time to increase significantly.  Or the backup could be another system completely who shares the same disks in the same drive bay or the SAN and Bay drives or SAN is inundated by applications e/s backup.  But as it's another system, that you will not see what is happening on your Oracle database system.

  Or a virtualized with environment sharing CPU and memory where another virtual machine running a CPU intensive job and steals the Oracle system CPU capacity.  I saw the same thing with memory so - Vmware has a strange way to virtualize memory, which means it can use all of the memory on the physical hardware and run out, and then he had to intervene to release somehow little memory.  What ends up slowing things down.

  It could be a network problem - is something that the network of the floods at 15:00?  Still, backups can be a common cause of this, during the transfer of data over the network to another system.  Is there a work extracted regularly data which runs at 15:00 for example extract given OLTP to feed into a data warehouse, which is copied on the network?

  It could be many different things, causing the slowdown.  I would definitely recommend watching any expected sessions know and see if this gets worse around 15:00, or if it remains the same, in which case the problem is elsewhere.  You must also eliminate everything else - the disks, network, etc.

  Yes. I've updated / installed 12.2.4/12.2.5 EBS on Exadata.

  You can clone of Exadata to Non-Exadata. You can use RMAN backups to clone as usual.

  However, if you use OHCC then you must decompress tables. You can do this using alter table... move; etc.
