• Leaking handles when calling C API Via "Call library function" (example attached)

  Thank you for any assistance you can give. I am a pretty good C programmer and a mediocre programmer LabVIEW so keep that in mind. I created a VI and C simple API to illustrate the issue (all sources included, built with Visual Studio 2005)

  I drove a DLL of the C API with LabVIEW as you can probably guess. There is a delicate part of the C API which requires some pointer math to work. This is the part that is leaking handles (seen in the Task Manager, below. Handles over 2 million and growing). The leak is only seen in LabVIEW and not when you call my API directly from C code (the code for the example C example is also attached)

  The VI that illustrates the problem is quite simple.

  

  LabVIEW moves of the buffer returned by "card Seq Blk Rd.vi' autour and causing 'Card Seq find Next429Ex.vi' to fail. It's my first clue that something is wrong - I think not that my buffer must move each time. I have to actually do some pointer math in my real API to fix this, but did not bother with this example. The question is the same regardless of the fix - up.

  The attached zip contains my example VI, and C for the API Source code and an example of C using the API (which does not leak handles).

  I'm sure I'm not enter a relatively simple concept LabVIEW memory management here, but still a mediocre time so be nice.

• Question about the reports and data of rollups

  We followed in place that I need to create monthly reports. There is a custom agent that collects two key all measures that can be used to define a percentage of system availability. They check essentially two types of errors that may occur together or individually. I have not really used reports in Foglight but has spent a good amount of time to play with them today. The main problem/issue I have at this point is how to deal with the accumulation of data. Our retention policy performs three stacks of separate data in a month, how can you effectively report on these data rolled upward?

  Example: one of the agents simply return a 0 if the system is ok and 1 if it finds the error. In the end, we just need to know how many times that 1 has been returned in a month. How would one accomplish? If the sum is for example, 40 for a total of 4 hours is that it means that he met the 40 times error? The frequency of the agent is set to 60 seconds, so that would mean 40 minutes of time error...?

  The other control agent returns specific error codes and not a simple binary value. If the above example or the question is trivial I still don't know how to deal with this one...

  I'm developing a questionnaire of type on Captivate 4. I have a section where he first asks the user a yes / no question, and then teaches them to type in an explanation if they chose 'yes '.   It's possible, if you are ready to use variables and advanced actions where you create the question slide totally. Maybe is easy to imitate the workflow you ask, by duplicating the YES/no slide of short answer Question No response in a text caption (you can add) to a default value. I'll try to explain:

  • You create a true/false question slide and be sure that there is enough space left under the answer
  • You create a short answer question, but reorganize this question and add a text caption. In this TC, you will have the answer that appears when access to this slide.
  • If the answer is Yes, go to the second slide, where you show the Yes. If the answer is no, jump elsewhere

  Even if you still Question two slides, normally the user will not be aware.

  Question No. 1 should be bodyleft and bodyright in a div eventually called mainbody?

  Question 2 photographs must go in a div or they better get a div? -J' I will be linking to enlarge the image. (Updates a table in a div looking for bad or is it quite logical)?  -C' is the question half!

The laptop also has personal files, and even though I know I shouldn't do this, I'm stuck not being able to buy a new iMac because it would have the updated operating system, and as I understand it, I wouldn't be able to use FCP7).

  And Yes, I always use the FCP 7 and have already reduced sequences and have all the Organization of the project in FCP7.

  I know I'm running in trouble with the inability to upgrade, and as fast as I can go to the end, I want to be sure it's true that I can't upgrade my OS if I'm mid - FCP project. Anyone out there can confirm this?

  I don't know what the Trojan horse is / was, but there were a few reports of pseudo ransomware. This requires money and creates the impression that Firefox is locked. If you're lucky and you have this kind of problem, it is easy to get out of.
