Example of bridge OT-Script requirements

Hello

I wrote my own NIRG TestStand intermidiate as a compontent com file generator
Now I would like to integrate in NIRG via the OT-Script.

I created a new file .br placed a new method in there.

Well now, I see my conversion tool Teststand in the drop-down list of the tool convert in the type editor Panel.

Of course I'm not famous with this kind of scripts.
In the other br files, there is a lot of code, but there is no comment.
Is there an appropriate example or documentation on OT-Scripts?

    Hello Ivpg1963,

I saw a suggestion in another forum that said to remove drivers Virgin Mobile via Add/Remove programs.
Then, remove the Novatel directory in Program Files. They claimed that remove the directory was the key.

Then add the drivers of Windows XP to return to the large map Strip MC760.

    Hi nyyankee53

You can check if the antivirus or other security software raises questions. I would say to you temporarily disable the security software installed and check if the problem is resolved.

If you disable any security software for troubleshooting temporarily, so don't forget to activate after troubleshooting is completed that your computer will be at risk.

See the help link - below

  • Collection for the PowerCLI scripting requirements

Someone at - it a good model that helps you organize information, gathering process when you go to the management or to a customer to get for scripts and automation requirements that they want to do?  Y at - it a Web page or a book that puts this kind of thing in a structured methodology or at least one practical how to guide?

For example, what kinds of questions should I go to make sure that I understand any of my script is supposed to do and help the management or the customer understand what THEY want to do, and get a consensus agreement on the functional requirements for my powerCLI script?

Your suggestions of entry, welcome masters strategies.

This question is not really unique for PowerCLI scripting, but all scripts/programs, to write (for yourself or for a customer |).

And of course, there are always the classic answer "it depends".

If it is a small task that you write yourself, the requirements are pretty obvious.

Most of the time, you have the requirements in your head, but it does not have to write in schematic form.

When you write for a customer, by definition be more formal (I guess).

An article I like, is the Introduction to gather our creative use cases and requirements published in the Code review.

    Take a look.

  • I tried Skype download, message "script required to complete installation of the toolbar could not be run" came. Mine is Windows XP Pack 3

I was using Skype with no problems, all of a sudden, everything was still, I finally had to restart the computer, uninstalled Skype, I tried downloading Skype again, uninstalling the toolbar was not possible, "required to complete the installation of tool bar script could not be run"message came.  And so was to uninstall the toolbar also.  Mine is version 5.1 Windows XP Service Pack 3.  Help, please

The instructions should be essentially the same except that you don't have to run as administrator command prompt.

Then register the VBScript.dll file which as explained above.

Hi Vivari, as a suggestion I would start with RVTools (free utility to extract common vCenter data)...  It allows export to Excel and a good utility to use if you do not know PowerCLI scripting.  Although RVTools is a good util it will collect all the information you're looking for.

You are looking for it in a report, or is it possible to collect from several sources?

It is not an easy way to collect HBA Firmware levels without connecting to the host ESX via SSH.

Use RVTools to data warehouses, networks and ESX patch levels.

If you cannot collect the information you're looking for using RVTools PowerCLI scripts would be the next option.

  • Import Format script required to work in multiple areas

I am currently building an import Format and the use of scripts to import datapump on several of the fields to implement the specific logic based on present values. For example:

    Function TBNetwork (strField, strRecord)
    If left (strField, 1) = "N" Then
    TBNetwork = strField
    On the other
    TBNetwork = 'network n/a '.
    End If
    End Function

However, I need to also assess the values in other areas also, but two default entries of the function are strField and strRecord.

How can I achieve this? Can I declare new variables and define as well?

    StrCustomer = varValues (23)

Or am I looking for to implement another type of script? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

strRecord represents the line of all the data from your source file that is currently being processed. You can analyze this to get the values of your data use/evaluate line in your script. There is a script Accelerator DW. Utilities.fParseString that will make the analysis of the channel for you. As you probably know strField returns only the field of the data file that you specified in your format of import for the associated dimension.

    Hello daisymendoza,

    You asked several questions.
First, what is your operating system? It is 32-bit or 64-bit? What service pack you have installed?

You run the Windows Installer Cleanup utility? Did you remove Skype?

Your notes, I think that you have run SFC/scannow and found some corrupted files. You will need the Vista DVD to replace the files.
Use the following article to repair the corrupted files.
Article 929833 - how to use the System File Checker tool to resolve missing or damaged on Windows Vista or Windows system files

    For Windows Installer errors:
The problem may be that the execution of Script VB is not registered on your Vista PC.  The possible solution is to locate and to register VBScript.dll.
To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
At the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
    Regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\vbscript.dll

Now check again and see if you can install the Skype toolbar.

Please answer back with an update.

    Sincerely,

    Marilyn
